  1. Whats going on there? did he forget to tighten it up with an allen key?
  2. Most of the Migs were engaged over North Korea from what ive read - intercepting UN bombers and in fact Mig Alley is near the North Korean / Chinese Border - so if they ejected they stood a good chance of landing their side of the DMZ. It is said that for obvious political reasons communist bloc pilots seldom ventured over UN held territory - so they wouldnt be captured and start WW3 etc - Im pretty sure Russia has admited to sending its pilots to fight over N Korea btw
  3. Looks totally amazing - as usual CA
  4. Unless the cabling was damaged or sabotaged after it was installed - theres no excuse for that. Like the way they use they are in a war zone as an excuse - unless they are pinned down by bullets when doing the job it should be done properly without fail.

  6. This guy should be an inspiration to us all http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqh9N-Mw5E
  7. The HUD is dependant on the cockpit and jet you fly - looks like hes flying an F-14 above Dont know what game you have but in WOV only the A-7E had a full HUD in that era AFAIK - and you can download that on this site - all the others in Nam at best had a lead computed gunsight only.
  8. LOL - well if at first you dont suceed - give up - should be every kids motto those SP clips are funny - havnt seen those!
  9. The greatest work of fiction since the dossier on Iraqi WMDs
  10. Will assume Win XP SP2? You havnt got a Direct2Drive version have you? Also check out Lead Pursuits web site - because I think there maybe something relating to a similar error on there. The only patch you should need is the full 1.0.13 one from LPs site - not the incremental one. Whats the current version of the game? Have you tried reinstalling it?
  11. They are feeling the pinch it says Their clients must be broke if they have to get it free from their wives
  12. The AIM-120 wasnt used (fired) in the 1991 gulf war and AFAIK: In September 1991, IOC (Initial Operational Capability) was achieved for the AMRAAM on USAF F-15 aircraft. The F-16 followed in January 1992, and the Navy in October 1993. Full-rate production of the missile was approved in April 1992, marking Milestone III. (f-16.net) Although the site manages to contradict itself elsewhere by saying the block 30B was wired for AIM-120s in 1987 - although will assume that was for testing etc. So AIM-9L/M would probably be correct - nothing concrete on whether the Block 30 was wired for the AIM-7 in USAF service either.
  13. Do have it - but these are not my pics btw
  14. Cheers SD - that Pic with the Vulcan and Lanc is flippin ace!
  15. Too many 2 mention tbh Jump by Van Halen may make the top 100 somewhere - ignoring the pansies in the vid the guitar solo is pretty cool http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8e-vgQSqNtA
  16. Have you extracted the campaign_data.ini file from the cat file in the flight folder as stated in the above link? The extraction tool is on this site - you need to download and install the SFP1E extraction tool. [AirUnit001] < -----------------------the droid you are looking for AircraftType=F-4E_Late Squadron=4TFS ForceID=1 ......
  17. Paying to see screenshots and news - thats surely a first!!! They do give a few incentives I guess - but I think I will wait till the games released (cough). And btw there better be an F-16 with a cherry on top in it or else
  18. If only Hitler had stuck to car design hey - he would be the father of world peace and Hippies everywhere Think they were still making those up till recently were they not?
  19. My tip for the day would be - install only Plane/mod at a time - and each time test it in single mission mode to make sure everythings there before going on to the next one. Reason being if you add 10 at a time say - and the game crashes its a lot harder to find which mod is causing the crash
  20. Nah never played it - but did the BOB thing years back with other games. besides after 4 years - am finally playing an F-104C Rolling Thunder campaign in WOV :blush2:
  21. either give us a list of the files in the zip file, a direct link to where you got that skin from, or send it in a PM
  22. 1. Sorry I thought you meant in your earlier post that the IR missile would be fired before the radar missile. 2. That comes back to what Jedi says above - when it switches from INS to its IR seeker what exactly does it lock onto? this sounds almost like a LOAL scenario. INS would just get the missile to a point - the target would be long gone - so without radar providing updates to the missile about where the actual target is - surely the IR seeker will just lock onto any jet in that area? Also to get firing information initially for the IR missile would the radar of the attacking jet need to switch to a mode like STT - because this would be picked up by the passive RWR and signify a radar lock at least. Assume it was hoped at the time that any target would be expecting a SARH shot only at range and so would be surprised by a long range IR missile?
  23. Yeah me too - but its kept a lot of people in work and IMO is badly needed! Just nice to have some real carriers again Dont worry N im sure somone will make some nice roundels for you btw
  24. Slave it to radar would be my guess for long range shots - but then does the radar keep providing the missile with updates till its IR seeker gets anything?? - in which case a launch could be like a SARH one. If they did launch the IR missile first as said above by Tomas - then "answers on a postcard" as to why. Maybe because a SARH missile would have to be guided - so fire the IR as fire and forget (or go F&F at some stage) then fire the radar shot and guide it in. There may be different versions of the R-77 - although its always labelled as active radar homing - so would imply it uses a radar in its terminal phase with some kind of home on jam backup I guess there could be IR versions - did have a look for Vympels web site - but funnily enough cant find it.
