    1. RAAF Macchi Trainer for SF2

This is a reworking of the RAAF Macchi MB-326H Attack/Trainer based on the mod by Charles. I have just tidied it up for SF2. All credit goes to the original design team who created this aircraft mod.

This is a complete aircraft with three skins: A camo scheme, RAAF Grey scheme and the Fanta Can scheme of the Roulettes aerobatic team. The M134 Gunpod and Macchi Fuel tank are included.

    2. Lockheed NF-104A for SFP1

      Lockheed NF-104A for SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI Oct.08 standard

In 1963, three ex-USAF F-104As (56-756, -760, and -762) were taken out of storage at Davis Monthan AFB and modified as NF-104A aerospace training aircraft. All of the military equipment was removed and the original F-104A vertical fin was replaced by the larger fin that was used on the F-104G. The wingspan was increased by four feet (to 25.94 feet) and a set of hydrogen peroxide control thrusters were mounted at the nose, tail, and wingtips. A 6000 pound thrust Rocketdyne LR121/AR-2-NA-1 auxiliary rocket engine was mounted on the tail above the jet exhaust pipe. This rocket engine could be throttled from 3000 to 6000 pounds of thrust, and the burn time was about 105 seconds.

The first NF-104A was delivered on October 1, 1963, with the other two following a month later. They were operated by the Aerospace Research Pilot School at Edwards AFB, which was commanded at that time by Colonel Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager.

On December 6, 1963, the first NF-104A set an unofficial world altitude record of 118,860 feet for aircraft taking off under their own power. The official record at that time was 113,829 feet, set by the Mikoyan/Gurevich Ye-66A, an experimental version of the MiG-21 Fishbed. Later, the same NF-104A flown by Major R. W. Smith reached an altitude of 120,800 feet.

On December 10, 1963, the second NF-104A (56-762), with Chuck Yeager at the controls, went out of control at an altitude of 104,000 feet and fell in a flat spin to 11,000 feet. Yeager managed to eject successfully at that altitude, although he was badly burned on his face by the rocket motor of his ejector seat. The aircraft was destroyed in the ensuing crash. An investigation later showed that the cause of the crash was a spin that resulted from excessive angle of attack and lack of aircraft response. The excessive angle of attack was not caused by pilot input but by a gyroscopic condition set up by the J79 engine spooling after shut down for the rocket-powered zoom climb phase. So it wasn't Chuck's fault.

In June of 1971, the third NF-104A, with Capt. Howard C. Thompson at the controls, suffered an inflight explosion of its rocket motor. Although Thompson was able to land safely, the aircraft's rocket motor and half its rudder were blown away. Since the program was about to end in any case, this aircraft was retired.

The number one NF-104A is currently on display on top of a pylon in front of the USAF Test Pilot School.

      IMPORTANT!!!
You need SFP1 to have the stock F-104G and cockpit files.
or follow these precious instructions: http://combatace.com/topic/57393-flyable-f-104s-for-sf2
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Pilot Notes:

-The rocket engine is set to use "Thrust vectoring" as a throttle control to permit separate control from the jet engine. The rocket will operate only with afterburning regime and with only 2 stages, half and full power. From idle to military it will not generate thrust and so will not affect fuel consumption.

-This plane is equipped with hydrogen peroxide Reaction Control System like the real plane. To engage the system simply throttle the rocket a bit over idle.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Installation:

Simply copy all the files in the respective directory of your game folder.

Another thing... there are some minor differences between SFP1 and SF2E models and one of these is a bit different mapping on the nose. So it will be included an optional SFP1 f-104_2.bmp file.

Sundowner was kind enough to give me the "OK" to upload these excellent skins!

Copy/paste the contents of each folder to the proper folder files.

Make sure you make the added changes to your "textureset"

I name the decal folders after the "stock" Kurnass_78 folder (IDFCamo 1). If you want to adapt to Kurnass_73 or_75, you need to make the name changes and decal changes accordingly.

Note: The decals files does not really need to be added... Since Sundowner did a great job on how the skin is apply to the model.
But in case it does not work for you for some reason it is best to add it to your decal folder.

    10. Sambad & IAI Sa'ar pack (1958-1975) - WOI

Dassault Sambad & IAI Sa'ar (1958-1975) for WOI

This skin pack for Thirdwire's stock Super Mystère B2 (Sambad, from the acronym SMBD) and Sa'ar (Tempest) covers every Sambad and Sa'ar in Israeli service from 1958 to 1975. It includes several skins for each type that reflect changed paint schemes, attrition, losses, replenishments and upgrades. The serial numbers itself are as real as it gets, but due to lack of reliable and/or complete information, some service dates might be wrong.

The Sambad was the IAF's first supersonic fighter and also its first aircraft with an afterburning engine. On December 4th 1958, the first Israeli Super Mystères arrived at Hatzor's No. 105 Scorpion Squadron. When the J52-P-8A engine became available with the introduction of the A-4 Ayit in late 1967, IAF engineers suggested it replacing the Sambad's unreliable Atar 101G-3 engine. While not afterburning, the J52 was lighter and more powerful than the original engine, allowing for more ordnance and an extended range. Other modifications to the original airframe included an extended rear fuselage to accommodate the new engine (also anticipating and inspiring the 'barrel mod' on the Ayits) and two new hardpoints for the Shafrir 2 air-to-air missile.
The first upgraded Sambad - now called IAI Sa'ar - entered service in 1969 and conversion was complete in early 1973. Only two years later, in March 1975, the Sa'ars of No. 105 Squadron were replaced with the F-4E Kurnass. The remaining Sa'ars were sold to Honduras in 1976.

The Aero L-39 Albatros is a high-performance jet trainer aircraft developed in Czechoslovakia to meet requirements for a "C-39" (C for cvi?ný – trainer) during the 1960s to replace the L-29 Delfín. It was the first of the second-generation jet trainers, and the first turbofan-powered trainer produced, and was later updated as the L-59 Super Albatros and as the L-139 (prototype L-39 with engine Garrett TFE731). The design is still produced in an evolved state as the L-159 ALCA, while more than 2,800 L-39s still serve with over 30 air forces around the world. The Albatros – the most widely used jet trainer in the world – is versatile, seeing duty in light-attack missions as well as in basic and advanced pilot training.

    22. Tracermania

      Tracermania
      AAA Tracers and bullets modification

FOR STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 Europe with Expansion pack 2
Made for and tested in SF2 all titl mergedwithes merged with Expansion Packs 1&2

      by Stary
      version 1.0
      06.12.2010

This little modification changes the number of tracers fired by all stock AAA units and patrol boats. Number of tracers has been increased 5 times, instead of every fifth bullet being tracer round now EVERY SINGLE bullet fired by Triple-A is tracer. Also I changed the data for stock partol boats, that makes these vessels track and attack air targets too.
Second tweak is the increase of bullets fired in a burst by AAA crews, usually from 12 to 20 or 24. This seem to me does not make them more or less accurate.
As these changes may increase CPU usage I eliminated ALL tracersmoke trails of any kind for any calibre guns (...)

    23. 1680 x 1050 Mainscreen modification for SF2 (EXP2b Dec 2010)

      1680 x 1050 Mainscreen modification for SF2 (EXP2b Dec 2010)

Just a first & simple attempt to make the SF2 series GUI more attractive, after my failed attempts to convert various nice menu mods for SF1 series (especially Kout's) or the very nice stock WOE one, for SF2.

This is just a generic main screen modification (having Europe in mind). If i have time and won't loose interest in this, i may try extend the modification to specialized versions for Vietnam, Israel, Europe and go even further with the changes and work in all screens as well.

Till then i am including the .PSD file also, feel free to play with it, (eg change the background image to your taste)

    24. SF2: Europe Expansion 2 Campaign Flyable Aircraft tweak

Please note that there is now a Updated Version with Additional Aircraft & Nations added:
      http://combatace.com/files/file/11553-sf2-europe-expansion-2-campaign-flyable-aircraft-tweak-11-nato/

This is a Tweak to make more of Thirdwires Stock Aircraft flyable in the Europe 1956 Campaign.

Added Aircraft (All are Flyable in Campaign if cockpit is added, instructions below)

      USAF: A-1H, F-84F, P-51D
      RAF: Canberra, Spitfire9e, Spitfire 9c, Vampire9
      France: F-84F, P-51D

Contains the Campaign fix for the F-100A Super Sabre.
Warsaw Pact Air Force now also operates a few Squadrons of Spitfires,
used as standins for Soviet Props.

Just unzip into your merged Strike Fighters 2 Folder.
You need at least SF2: Vietnam and SF2: Israel Exp 1 for this mod.
Only tested on fully Merged Installation.

You have to make the aircraft flyable by yourself. To do this, simply copy the line:
      CockpitDataFile=Hunter6_cockpit.ini
into the .ini of the Aircraft you wish to make flyable.

Oh, and Good Luck if you choose to fly the P-51D. You are going to need it.
