    1. Hi everybody!

Here it's back! For those who have played the nice sim from Microprose, "Fleet Defender", and want to remember that times (oh, the good old days).

This is the song that sounds in the Menu screens of Fleet Defender, and now you can use it as the Main Screen theme (or any other screen) in Strike Fighters 2: North Atlantic.

      I hope you enjoy it!

PD: For those who are new in the world of flight sims sure they will find this MIDI sound "old", but those who are veterans in this (like me) will become nostalgic.

The Yak-38MP was a project to fit the Yak-38 with a modern radar system. It was intended to arm this plane with R-24 (AA-7C and D) and R-60M (AA-8B) missiles.
The Yak-38MP based on the Yak-38M.

The project was canceled because the Yak-41 Freestyle was expected to enter the service in late 80th.
The same fate had had the Yak-39 project, which was a Yak-38MP with larger wings and afterburner engines which should reach supersonic speeds.

    3. Redid the stock Iceland ground textures I am not sure what the engine can do yet but I hope it can support more then 2 maps.

I increased the res to 1024x1024 so loading times may be a bit higher.

    4. Replacement Control Tower for the bland stock one.

Just extract, then copy n paste, the Terrains folder to your mods\ SF2E\Terrains\GermanyCE folder,or move the Tower1.LOD and Control Tower.bmp to the above folder.

This will replace all stock tower1 models in any terrain. It wont alter your files as the stock lod isnt available, and this model uses different texture names from stock.

      Model and Textures by me.
      Hope you like.

Also supplied camera positioon,if you know how to edit it,if not will update as soon as I can.

    5. Yak-38M Forger-C
      *****************
This mod is made for SF2NA.

      ----------------------------------------------------------
      I.

The Yak-38M was the modernized version of the Yak-38. It got stronger engines and an improved weapon system. It was able to deliver missiles of the KH-25 missile family.
      First flight was in 1982.
It entered the service in 1985.

To make it possible to start from the carriers of the Kiev class i had to modify the Kiev's too. I moved the starting position and added a lot of arrestor wires, so that the Yak's can land on deck. It is not perfect.
Vertical take off is at the moment impossible, because the FM cant handle lift engines very well. Only the AI plane on start possition 3 makes a vertical take off, but i dont know why. It is not intended to do so.

Don't forget, to "Save As..." jpg format (even though the Game Engine will read both jpg and bmps) Jpgs are smaller, and look just as nice (sorta)

    7. FOR SF2:North Atlantic ONLY!

This is simple open waters map, for testing purposes.

Whole map consists only of single 100x100 kilometers plane, repeating self to create 1000x1000 kilometers map.

Water file is defined, so are locations of Friendy and Enemy task forces spawn points.

I decided NOT to include any test islands so far to keep it clean of any land areas.

      For testing/evaluation purposes ONLY

I've included simple Max files used to created this terrain, one is 1000x1000 KM mesh, the other, used in this map is 100x100 KM on

    8. ANG C-5A Skin addition

      1) The attached file includes 'West Virginia Air Guard' on the fuselage of the aircraft, just like the real aircraft.

      2) Unfortunately, the lettering only shows up clearly when the gear are up on the aircraft due to the modeling structure of the aircraft.

      Instructions:

      1) Copy file to your C-5A skin directory and allow for override to update the skin.

      2) Go fly!

      Thanks and credit to:
      - TK and Thirdwire
      - Veltro2k for the original C-5A Galaxy upload
      - Pappychksix for the original skin
      - Epizikl for the loading screen
      - Kesselbrut for the cockpit
