Strike Fighters 2: War For Israel V2.1

      Campaign For SF2:Israel. or
      SF2,SF2:E,SF2:V with SF2:Israel Merged Install.

This is a Campaign i created to hit on the Possibility of the situation
in the Middle East coming to a head and represent the possible Air Battle.

The Campaign includes IDF, USAF, USMC, USN with Carrier support.
Also 2 Mercenary Aircraft for Campaign play.

      Installing the Campaign:

Campaign files with menu pics and Music files are included.
Also Included 3 Icon Files for the Main Dir to use with the Desktop Shortcut.

Extra Files are required: The E-3A.LOD's for the E-3 "Sentry" can be
found in Operation Desert Storm in the "ODS_part1.exe" file. You only need
the LOD's all others are already included. This Aircraft is not crucial but
      fun to Include.

Make a copy of your "StrikeFighters2 Israel.exe" in the program folder
and rename it to "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael.exe". Also make a copy of the
INI and rename it "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael.ini" in the main dir.
Open the "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael.ini" file and change it to read at
      the bottom:

      [Module]
      ModuleDataFile=ModuleWFI.cat
      DefaultTerrainData=IsraelME
      DefaultAircraft=F-15A_Baz

This will allow the use of the Menu file ModuleWFI.cat that goes in your
      program folder "Menu" dir.

Now Run the New "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael.exe" and go the the
"Saved Game folder" "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael" and delete the "Aircraft"
and "GroundObject" folders. New ones will be created. I've included all the
Aircraft and Ground Objects including the Default SF2 Israel files so you
do not have to sift through them. You can add Aircraft later if you want.

Now Run the Menu Installer and point it to the program folders root
"Strike Fighters 2" Folder. Then Run the Mod Installer and point it to the
Saved Game folder root "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael".
      Overwrite if it asks.

You should be ready to go.

Before anyone complains about stock planes in this mod the A-4N is From
the A-4AR Fightinghawk by RavenXXXX. And the Mig-27 is a modded version
using the stock usable Mig-27 skins, and is by lindr2.

Both can be downloaded at CombatAce.

I want to thank the Community for all their effort.

    2. Three F-105Ds were shot down on April 4, 1965.
At least two of them were lost to MiG-17s from the 921st Regiment at Noi Bai.
These were the first US aircraft lost to VPAF MiGs in Vietnam.

Zinc flight of the 354th TFS was bounced while orbiting the Initial Point.
The lead pair of F-105s never saw the MiGs and did not respond to radio calls.
One pair of MiGs fired on the lead pair of F-105s and badly damaged them.
The trailing pair of F-105s evaded another pair of MiGs.
The damaged F-105s tried to divert to Da Nang, but could not make it.
Both pilots ejected at sea, but neither survived.
Zinc 01, Maj Frank Bennett in 59-1754, drowned before being recovered.
Zinc 02, Capt James Magnusson in 59-1764, was never found and declared MIA.

      /*****Design*******************************************************************/

After extensive testing, this mission uses the following design decisions:

Written for a stock SF2V install, no mods required.

The stock environment does not permit multiple levels and types of clouds/haze.
So the only the haze and cirrus layer are modeled.

The F-105 mission is a STRIKE on the Thanh Hoa "Dragon's Jaw" bridge.
The initial aircraft positions reflect WSEG Report 116 Event II-1.
The F-105s are in an orbit at the IP, 10 miles south of the bridge.
The mission starts when the 2nd pair of MiGs are first detected by Zinc 03 & 04.
The lead pair of MiGs start very close to the lead pair of F-105s.
The lead pair of F-105s have poor pilot quality to simulate their unresponsiveness.
This almost guarantees that the MiG-17s will immediately shoot down Zinc 01 & 02.
The trailing F-105s are modeled as a separate flight with the same Zinc callsign.
This permits historical positioning of the aircraft and different pilot quality.
The player is flying as Zinc 03 (Zinc 01 of the 2nd Zinc flight in the game).

The MiG-17s have been broken up into two flights.
This permits historical starting positions and target objectives.

Two flights of F-100s were in the area and may have gotten one or more MiG kills.
However, the F-105s never saw them, so I have left them out.

Outcomes are typically very close to the historical results.

      /*****Playing Tips*************************************************************/

The mission begins with the enemy very close at 7 o'clock and closing fast.
The first thing the player should do is jettison all ordnance and break hard.
The player should also issue a "break" or "cover me" command to his wingman.
If the player survives, try to support any other survivors.
Continuing the bridge attack after escaping the MiGs is the only way to "win",
but the game engine victory conditions should be ignored for this mission.
A true victory is landing at Da Nang with more than two F-105s.
It is possible to pick up some kills, but very risky, so consider disengaging.
In reality, the undamaged F-105s ignored the MiGs to help the damaged ones.

Do the following to make this mission challenging and realistic:

ONLY USE THE NORMAL IN-COCKPIT VIEWS: <F1>, <F2>, and <F3>
Do not use map <M>, target <T>, padlock <F4>, or any view target <F8> keys.
Doing so provides the player with exceptional situational awareness.
The player unrealistically always knows everyone's location.
This extra knowledge allows a skilled player to escape and possibly kill MiG-17s.

Be proficient with the POV hat, look up <NUM 5> key, and zoom view controls.
Due to the way the game renders distant targets, spotting MiGs is very hard.
MiGs that are not very close cannot be seen at all when zoomed out.
Learn to zoom in and scan the horizon for small moving dots.
This will be frustrating and the spotting distances may seem unrealistic.
The end results are exceptionally realistic.
The player may frequently get lost or disoriented.
Like real pilots, level out and/or use check turns to find your way back.
It will take skill and luck to spot MiGs.
It requires even more skill and luck to get one or more kills.
Of course, TrackIR makes this whole process much easier and realistic.

Play the mission several times following these restrictions.
Once used to it, the player will learn two skills critical to real pilots:
      1) Visual scanning discipline to focus and pick out distant contacts.
      2) Situational awareness to mentally track planes not within view.

      Good luck!

    3. My verson of the F-15A MSIP II+ (F-15AM)

This aircraft is base on the Stock F-15A SF2, you would need to have SF2 and/or Merged SF2 installed.

I have made a lot of tweaks on the plane. You can modify it to your own liking. The work and the skin is not perfect but I think it will pass.

Thus, weapons and effects is not included, check download section for your preference.

Don't worry if you do not have the effects or weapons installed, the game will DEFAULT to SF2 Stock weapons for the specific time period.

Copy the content of the respected folders to your folder:

"Aircraft" to your "Object Aircraft folder."

"Decals", copy the entire decals folder content and paste it onto your decal folder. I was unable to use specific squadron for decal folder, as it does not show up on the aircraft.

The following Fighter Squadron is included:

19th Fighter Squadron "Slightly Dangerous" (Mig Killer)

44th Fighter Squadron "Busty Vamp" (Mig Killer)

65th Aggressor Squadron "Size Does Matter"

    4. Indonesian A-4E & H Skyhawk Pack for Strike Fighters 2

This pack contains nation specific installs of the A-4 E and H model Skyhawk’s used by Indonesia.

These Aircraft were obtained from the Israeli Air force via the Alpha Project in 1980. They stayed in service until 2003 when they were replaced by two Russian Su-27SK and two Su-30MK. However the Indonesian Air Force is planning to reactivate the A-4 Skyhawks by buying spare parts after the United States ended its weapons and spare part sales embargo. The aircraft made its final flight on 5 August 2005

Includes 3 different skins: 11 SkU Camo (Tan and Green), 12 SkU Camo (Tan and Blue) & 12 SkU Camo (Tan and Blue) Low-Viz

Included is a folder called “2005 plus” which if installed will extend the operational years to 2015 with a ‘very_rare’ availability representing the above proposed reactivation.

These are basically the stock E and H Ahit with skins upgraded for SF2 from the Wings over Timor campaign. Credit goes to Third Wire and the ‘A Team’

I made this after Wrench released the SF2 Modern Darwin terrain and I wanted some half decent opposition, to go along with some skins I updated for the SU-27SK & F-5, for the Aussie Hornets and Kiwi Skyhawks to do battle with.

INSTILATION: Drop files in to appropriate folders, override when asked to.

NOTE: Has only been tested/used in a merged install of ALL SF2 titles but should only require SF2I

Credit goes to Third wire for the game and A-4 models, Dev A-Team of Capun and CB Productions for permition to use thier modified skins.

      History on the RNZAF Canberra:

In 1958, while awaiting delivery of their own Canberras, the RNZAF "hired" a squadron of 17 B.2s and three T.4s from the RAF as part of the Commonwealth Strategic Reserve. The B.2s and one T.4 were used, from 1958 until 1962, by the then newly formed RNZAF 75 Squadron. The squadron was based at RAF Tengah (Singapore) and became involved in active service during the Malayan emergency with their first bombing raid being carried out on 30 September 1959.
In February 1958 New Zealand placed a contract for 11 aircraft for use by 14 Sqd, the contract called for nine B(I)12 and two T.13 Canberras. The B(I)12 was the equivalent of the RAF's B(I)8 but with auto-pilot and modified navigation kit. The T.13 was equivalent to the T.4 but with auto-pilot and an extra bomb bay fuel tank.
14 Squadron was based at RNZAF Ohakea in New Zealand
Initially the squadron continued to use their D.H. Vampires for rocket projectile firing practice as the B(I)12s did not get this capability until December 1961. Trials then began with wing-pylon mounted Microcell rocket launchers each holding 37 rockets. Gradually the squadron achieved operational status in all its roles, including anti-shipping, and took part in deployment exercises to Singapore as part of the Commonwealth Reinforcement Force.
In late 1962, the OCU was incorporated into the squadron as "C" Flight giving 14 Squadron a strength of ten B(I)12s and two T.13s. In 1964 the B(I)12s received their camouflage paint scheme ready for deployment to Singapore. 14 Sqd arrived in Singapore in September 1964 to assist in Operation Confrontation against Indonesia. A month later they went to the forward base at Labuan but were moved back to Tengah a week later! 14 Sqd stayed as part of the FEAF and, in March 1965, moved to RAAF Butterworth in Malaya. Not for long however. In 1966 the squadron returned to RNZAF Ohakea. Sadly, in the final month at Butterworth, NZ6104 crashed during a low-level RP attack at the China Rock range.
Back in NZ, the decision had been taken to phase out the B(I)12 which duly took place in July 1970. New Zealand's Canberras were sold as a job-lot to India in November 1970. Some are still flying today

    8. This is the MV-22B Osprey v2.2 by Zurawski updated for the Strike Fighters 2 Series.

As well as updating it for SF2 I have added a few extra bits:

-The BAE Remote Guardian GAU 17 minigun turret. It can be loaded and unloaded via a dedicated weapons station but can be fired forwards by the pilot only.

-A ‘ghost’ BAE Remote Guardian GAU 17 minigun turret. This the best way I could represent the Remote Guardian turret engaging targets to defend the aircraft. What it is is a gunner station located in the correct position that fires the GAU 17 at any enemy air targets. However there is no 3d model to go with it. So what you get is the GAU 17 minigun turret that you can see and fire straight ahead. When the AI gunner engages a target you will see the muzzle flash and tracer fire coming from mid air in the area where the GAU 17 minigun turret is. If you don’t like the idea of this there is a second data.ini file you can use which will disable the AI gunner.

      -Updated pilot skins

Note: has only been tested on an all game merged vertion of SF2 but should be fine on any individual installs (I hope)

Also make sure you read the original README for flight instructions etc

To install just place files in correct locations and over ride
