  1. FAA Skyrays

It is little-known history* that in the late 1950s, their Lordships of the Admiralty recognised that the Supermarine Scimitar was an unmitigated failure. As an American observer noted at the time, only the British could build a jet fighter with 22,000lbs thrust, that still remained stubbornly subsonic.
Not only was its performance rather disappointing (British understatement?), the Scimitar was extremely unreliable. At one point it required 1000 maintenance hours per flying hour, and over 50% of the Scimitar fleet was lost in accidents. Its best contribution to the Fleet, was as a Ground Instructional Airframe (which is where the author first saw one, at RNAS Arbroath in the late 1960s).
In an act of some desperation, therefore, in 1958 the Admiralty cancelled the remaining 50% of Scimitar production, and instead discreetly obtained 40 F4D-1 Skyrays from US Navy stocks.
Capt Eric (“Winkle”) Brown was highly influential in this decision. A navy test pilot with the world record for carrier take-offs and landings (2,407 and 2,271 respectively), and an objectively strong advocate of American naval ac designs, his advice on procuring the Skyray was decisive. (Besides, he was a Scotsman. From the right side of the country)(ie the East Coast - did I mention that I'm from Arbroath?).
Modified to carry the British Firestreak IR missile, and also to perform the light strike/attack role, the F4D-1 thus entered RN service as the Skyray F1.
These ac proved to be particularly useful on the smaller British carriers, Victorious, Centaur and Hermes. For example, in Hermes, the Skyray allowed 892 Sqn to deploy a full 12-ac sqn, instead of the originally-mooted 8-ac Sea Vixen "sqn-lite". This had the serendipitious additional social advantage of eliminating all the Sea Vixen coal-hole observers from the Wardroom.
Later in their career, 20 RN Skyrays were modified to FAW2 standard. This entailed replacing the original AN/APQ-50A radar with a lightweight version of the Lightning's AI23 "Airpass" radar, installing compatibility for both the Red Top all-aspect IR missile and the US Bullpup AGM, and replacing the original 4 x Colt 20mm cannon with a harder-hitting package of 4 x ADEN 30mm cannon (albeit with halved ammunition loads).
Deployed in HMS Victorious in 1965 during the Malaysian Confrontation, one of these Skyray FAW2’s shared with an RAF Javelin in the double kill of 2 Indonesian C-130B’s, caught in the act of attempting to infiltrate Indonesion paratroopers into Borneo.
The RN’s Skyrays were finally retired with the decommissioning of HMS Eagle in 1972. Their last service was to familiarise a generation of FAA pilots with USN ac types, in preparation for the introduction of the superlative F-4K Phantom (another Winkle Brown protogé).

*Alternative history. The reader is encouraged to decipher what is fact, and what is fiction above. For it is not all the latter..  :)

Installation: the usual, simply download and unzip the "Objects" folder, and drop it into your SF2 mod directory of preference. Always always always backup your original stuff before trying out new mods like this.
Credits: this mod is based on the SF2 Skyray 1.1 mod, which I think is the work of Julhelm and NeverEnough. Regret not sure to whom credit is due for the Firestreak, Red Top and Bullpup missiles, and the SNEB Can, so if I missed you out, sorry, but I tip my hat to you!
Legal Stuff: all the usual disclaimers, ie use at own risk, always always always backup your original stuff before trying out new mods like this (bears repeating). Plus this mod is consistent with both Queen's Regulations for the Royal Navy, and the Official Secrets Act.
    Cheers, Tally-Ho etc

  3. CAF Condor F.1

Panavia Condor F.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 On July 25th 1968 a memorandum of understanding was signed by Belgium, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK and West Germany expressing their interest and intent on producing a multi-role combat aircraft (MRCA) with a tentative in-service date of 1975. Belgium dropped out very early and before the end of the year Canada had also pulled out with Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau claiming that they simply could not afford it but this was, perhaps, a convenient excuse to hide behind whilst Trudeau's liberal goverment re-shaped the entire Canadian armed forces. For a short while the remaining four nations ploughed on but the Dutch became increasingly concerned as their prime mission was for an air superiority fighter and even though they had cranked in severe requirements for long radius of action and maximum performance in air combat at all altitudes they then complained when the resultant design became larger and therefore more expensive. Once the Dutch had left the MRCA project the remaining three nations formed a Joint Working Group firming up on requirements, removing excessive demands and establishing a technically viable baseline solution to their MRCA requirement. Fashionably, this baseline solution was a swing-wing design with afterburing turbofan engines. With all three Governments on board the project was to be delivered by a co-ordinating organisation called NAMMO (NATO MRCA Management Organisation) employing three newly created international contractor companies; Panavia Aircraft GmbH (airframe), Turbo-Union Ltd (engines) and Avionica Systems Engineering GmbH (avionics) that would combine to produce the Panavia Tornado. Whilst the RAF were fully behind the swing-wing MRCA design for their all-weather interdiction and strike requirements they expressed deep concern over it's suitability to meet their RAF Air Staff Requirement 395 which called for a long-range interceptor to replace the Lightning and Phantom. Influenced by U.S. studies on future air superiority fighter aircraft, and especially by John Boyd's energy–maneuverability theory, the RAF demanded an aircraft with extra power and maneuverability compared to the proposed Tornado ADV. Whilst they conceded that the Tornado ADV might be acceptable as a long-range interceptor it would be totally outclassed as a 'central front' fighter by the expected threats of the next generation of Soviet fighter aircraft (in particular, and before it's limitations became known, the MiG-25 was especially feared). When the UK Government argued that another combat aircraft could not be considered on cost grounds the RAF reminded them that the proposed Tornado ADV was already morphing into a different aircraft with a longer forward fuselage to accommodate semi-recessed Sparrow/Skyflash missiles, more powerful engines to address the low power to weight ratio and a totally different avionics package. Panavia were already ahead of the curve with several design studies on various advanced air superiority fighter aircraft with the most promising being 'Projekt Condor' from the Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) design team at Ottobrun for a single-seat air superiority fighter powered by a single large afterburning turbofan engine (the RB.250 - itself a paper project by Turbo-Union but based on a scaled-up Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan). Preliminary technical studies demonstrated that Specific Excess Power and manoueverability were off the chart when compared to all current fighter aircraft and a parallel study on the market for such an aircraft in the 1975 to 1990 period revealed a potential market for 600 aircraft in Western Europe and the Middle East alone. Unexpected support for Projekt Condor came from the Italian Government who sought a follow-on fighter aircraft to replace the Aeritalia F-104S on the Turin production line. In the UK, with unemployment at its highest level since 1940, the incoming Conservative Government led by Edward Heath supported the project as one of a raft measures to boost the UK economy. By 1971 all three Governments (Italy, the UK and West Germany) were in agreement and the Panavia Condor programme was allowed to proceed with an initial order for 10 Condor prototype and development aircraft and 465 production aircraft (West Germany 200, UK 165 and Italy 100) to be assembled on final production lines in each country but with workload shared out with the United Kingdom and West Germany each having a 40% share of the workload with the remaining 20% going to Italy. With inflation running rampant in Western Europe the Condor programme was under the strictest financial scrutiny during the early 1970's but luckily escaped the axe on at least two occassions. Despite the Condor programme being a political football (and seemingly a permanent fixture in the news headlines) development moved swiftly aided by the existing collaborative structures within Panavia recently created for the Tornado programme. With a new airframe and a new engine Panavia were keen to avoid also introducing a completely new avionics package so sensibly opted for an off-the-shelf purchase of the Hughes APG-63 multimode radar system but designed to incorporate a software programmable signal processor allowing the system to be modified to accommodate new modes and weapons through software reprogramming rather than by a more costly and disruptive hardware retrofit. The first prototype (PC-01) was structurally complete by early April 1974 and was trucked from Ottobrun to the Hannover Air Show where it was displayed in the static park attracting considerable interest from Saudi Arabian and Omani officials. DA-01 was then taken to Manching to be mated with the Turbo-Union RB.250 engine for ground-testing and taxying trials that continued during the summer months before MBB's chief test pilot, Nils Meister, took to the air on August 15th 1974. A few short weeks later he dazzled the crowds at the 1974 Farnborough Air Show demonstrating the Condor's remarkable manoueverability. The fleet of development aircraft began to build up during 1975 with the only real mishap occuring when DA-06 (whose main task was armament development) was mysteriously lost over the Irish Sea. Entering service with No.23 Squadron of the Royal Air Force on April 1st, 1978 the Condor F.1 eventually served with seven squadrons in the UK and another two in RAF Germany. Primary armament was the Skyflash semi-active radar homing air-to-air missile and the AIM-9L 'all-aspect' version of the Sidewinder infra-red air-to-air missile. In addition, the Condor was fitted with two internal Mauser BK-27 cannon (developed for the Panavia Tornado) each with 250 rounds. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the CondorF1 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the CondorF1 folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the GUNS folder drag and drop the BK-27 folder into your Guns folder (you might already have this). 5. [Fictional] Lockheed F-19A 'Sniper' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

Lockheed F-19A 'Sniper' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the stock MiG-19S to create a fictional Lockheed F-19A 'Sniper' in service with USN & USMC Aggressor Squadrons in the 1974 to 2003 timeline.

    BACKSTORY
Only during the mid-1980's was it revealed that an unexpected outcome of President Nixon's historic visit to China in 1972 was the purchase of 30 Shenyang J-6 fighters for use as Aggressor aircraft. The aircraft were clandestinely delivered early in 1974 with the US Navy taking 22 aircraft and the US Marine Corps taking the balance of 8 which entered service with VMFT-401 in April 1976. In service, the aircraft were supported by specialist teams from Lockheed and were eventually designated F-19A with the unofficial name of 'Sniper'.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-19A folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-19A folder into your Decals folder.
    That's it!

Westland Whirlwind Mk.2D for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of Veltro2K's Westland Whirlwind to create a fictional "Desert Whirlibomber" in service with No.6 Squadron of the Royal Air Force in the 1941-1944 timeline.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Whirlwind2D folder into your Aircraft folder.
    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Whirlwind2D folder into your Decals folder.
That's it! Bombs, tanks and sounds are all stock items but you will need to add a WW2 pilot (not supplied). Please note that this older 3D model does have some 'rope' issues that you can remove by turning shadows to FALSE. It's a tricky beast to get off the ground, requiring slow advancement of the throttle and a gentle touch, but is otherwise OK.

  13. BC-304 Daedalus-Class Battlecruiser

Hi there everyone, I joined combatace almost 10 years ago and, after several attempts I finally managed to make this monstrosity. The mighty BC-304 Daedalus-Class battlecruiser from the Stargate franchise.
It is the second generation of interstellar Earth warships made integrating alien reverse engineered technology obtained in the operations of the Stargate Command during the previous 8 years. It includes:
    - 28 automatic railgun turrets around the ship.
    - 16 VLS missile in the front deck silos, armed with conventional HE warheads or tactical nuclear ones. The range of this missiles are 150+ km. Since there is no name for these missiles I made it up as SSM (Standard Space Missile).
    - Advanced Trinium-Naquadah alloy armour (Steel with lots of hitpoints).
    - Reverse engineered sublight engines (that uses this naquadah as fuel, making the TSFC=0.01 as it possess a huge amount of energy so don't worry about consumption :) ).
    - Antigravity drive which substitutes the landing gear allowing you to hover at about 300 meters above the ground. Now you can stay above the tanks shooting down Beagles, watching how enemy AAAs fail trying to shoot you down muahahaha.
    - Shield generator that covers the entire ship, "theoretically" absorbing the damage before it reaches the ship itself.
For those who are also like stargate franchise, no, I haven't made the also mighty Asgard Plasma Beam upgrade, but I will try to do something in future releases.
I also included several skins of the different ships that appeared in the franchise:
U.S.S. Daedalus - The first to be commissioned for USAF which is assigned to assist Atlantis expedition in Pegasus Galaxy.
U.S.S. Odyssey  - The second to be finished which remains in Earth.
B.F.R. Korolev  - Commissioned almost simultaneously with the Odyssey, given to the Russian Federation in exchange for the operations of the stargate.
U.S.S. Apollo   - The second to be assigned to Pegasus Galaxy.
C.N.S. Sun Tzu  - The first ship to be given to People's Republic of China.
U.S.S. Hammond  - The last known to be commissioned for United States, originally was going to be called Phoenix but they changed the name to honour the first General in charge of Stargate Command, George Hammond, after passing away.
U.S.S. Phoenix  - The name given to that ship in alternate realities.

    Some notes about this model:
I don't fully understand the damage mechanics in this game, so despite of the fact that this ship
have "advanced force fields" that withstand several tactical nukes, sometimes you can get shot
down by the rear gun of a Tu-95.
Since it is a very big ship (650m long) all the 28 railguns have difficulties aiming at small targets due to
the offset of the guns. But they still hit big targets such as other spaceships of the same size, and
sometimes big bombers like Tu-95. Anyways, if someone knows how to improve this, suggestions and ideas are
    very welcomed!
The flight mechanics have been "developed" from FastCargo's F-35B, my goal was to have vertical
takeoff and landing functioning but I have not managed to achieve that properly.
This "plane" is quite special to fly, it has a 100+ times bigger inertias than the F-35 so don't
expect to dogfight with fighter jets, just wait until they crash in your force fields :)
Also, take into account that the size of this aircraft is such that you can not fly in regular squadron
formations as it crashes with the other ships. It is ment to fly alone in air combat missions (however
I would like to implement air to ground warfare in next versions).
It has no cockpit, I just put it in the place of the bridge. I will try to do my own cockpit in the future.
If you are wondering where I took these F-302 of the screenshots, they are from the A-Team Skunkworks. They
also have the Death Glider so if you get it from there you can recreate some pretty good stargate battles!
********Any commercial use of this mod is CLEARLY FORBIDDEN!!!

CREDITS for the material that made this possible:
    - FastCargo's F-35 that I used as a base for the INIs.
    - Effects included in Stary's EE3 for SF2 series used for the nuclear explosions in both ground and air.
I know that this material also involve more people who put their best effort on it, I want to thank them sincerely, and also the people involved on the Viper afterburner effect that I was unable to track. I hope I haven't missed anybody!
Also I would like to thank the modding knowledge in combatace which helped me to make this possible.

    And finally!
The model itself is incomplete, I still have to add some parts like the communication deck and the sensors array and many more things, but Christmass time is over so I decided to upload what I have made.
It is my first serius mod after having joined Combatace 10 years ago, after several attempts of doing sci-fi stuff, and now I finally managed to make this "living insult to aerodynamics".
I really hope you enjoy it and of course I am opened to suggestions and feedback as this model is not perfect by far (a lot of things are not adjusted, it lacks more testing, it is like flying two carriers in a simulator not ment to do that, etc.).
All things said, have fun! :)

  14. SF2 Mirage 4000P & PB

This aircraft mod represents Dassault's what-if Mirage 4000P fighter and its trainer PB variant in the Portugese Air Force service.
This package comes with 1 skin set for each variant, with decals for P (14 planes), and for PB (6 planes).
Also it is dedicated to our friend Cocas who put his work and time to bring us many of the rare or experimental aircraft in this game series and originally created the base model for this plane.
This model is meant for SF2 games only, SF1 variants will be uploaded at the SF1 section.
Install is the regular dropping the contents in their respective places. In case you have the prototype or French A and B variants you can skip the overwrite prompt of weapons as those 6 items are identical.
Please note: The model can be quite heavy on FPS in large formations on weaker machines, so if required, either resize skin files or use lower lods(_nd,001,002,003) as lod1.
The model uses the general french and NATO weapons, either as part of weapon packs or the Mirage 2000 family.
Important: The PB variant comes with 2 types of cockpit, the basic setup will use a simple pit that has only the pilots cabin instrumented. The other is a fully modeled front and rear compartment, in which you want to fly you should activate the proper line in the AC's.ini file.
    CockpitDataFile=Mirage4000PB_Cockpit.ini <---- basic setup
    ;CockpitDataFile=Mirage4000PB_Cockpit_full1.ini <------ front seat
    ;CockpitDataFile=Mirage4000PB_Cockpit_full2.ini <------ rear seat
Be aware - the piloting seat position can not be changed during/in game, so chose wisely!
Make sure to read the manual included with the package.

  15. MiG-23-11 Flogger Prototype

    MiG-23-11  Flogger Prototype
This mod is based on the serial MiG-23S created by ArmourDave and The Mirage Factory.
    History
The prototype 23-11 flew without weapons, and on the prototype 23-12 they worked out the placement of K-23 complex   2 missiles on pylons under the wing and 2 missiles  under the engine’s air intakes according to the scheme semi-recessed. On production aircraft, only 2 R-23 missiles were left under the wing on the pylon, but not semi-recessed R-23 missiles. The aircraft is presented in 2 colors of the Mikoyan Design Bureau prototype n 231 and 232
I changed the speed settings at which the wing is rearranged from 16 degrees to 45 and from 45 to 72
    from 16 lo 45 ---- speed 270-290 km \ h

  16. Mikoyan-Gurevich Ye-8A and M

This aircraft mod represents Mikoyan-Gurevich's Ye-8 experimental fighter and its fictional updated "M" variant. There are slight variations compared to the actual prototype and the pits are pure fictional as there are no pictures that show how that looked in its original form, so its a mix of various systems used or developed in that time frame that the aircraft was developed.
This package comes with 3 skin set for each variant, with decals for Soviet aircraft, since birds for LSK and Czechoslovakia use stock decals.
This model is meant for SF2 games only, and SF2 Europe is required as some of the skins use stock decal numbers.
Install is the regular dropping the contents in their respective places.
Please note: The model might gets heavy on FPS in large formations on weaker machines, so if required, either resize skin files or use lower lod "_nd" as lod1.
New weapons are provided - some type specific - beside these the model uses the general Soviet weapons.
Be aware - In the 1970's and later when AA-8 can be selected, manually double loadout of these can happen.
Make sure to read the manual included with the package.

  18. Blackburn Buccaneer S.22 - RAN

This is the Blackburn Buccaneer for the Royal Australian Navy. This package consists of complete aircraft.
    Historical Background
The military buildup in China and Indonesia in the early 1960s led the RAN to renew the airwing of its 2 Audacious class aircraft carriers, HMAS Sydney and HMAS Melbourne. At the beginning of the decade, these British aircraft carriers fielded an airwing of F3D Skyknight all weather fighters, FJ-3 Fury day fighters, and Westland Wyvern attack aircraft. All were considered incapable of coping with the fighters and air defences projected to be introduced by Indonesia and China in the ensuing years.
To respond to this situation, the RAN formulated requirements for an all-weather supersonic fighter, and a carrier-capable strike aircraft which could deploy a "special munition" after penetrating enemy defences. For this latter requirement, only two aircraft were viable, the Grumman A2F, and the Blackburn NA39. The Navy had concerns about the A2F's complex DIANE system, but overall favoured the US offering. The government, on the other hand, saw the Buccaneer requiring less of Australia's dollar reserves, and an order for a British aircraft could provide the British government a greater incentive to engage in nuclear cooperation with Australia. Since the naval fighter requirement was likely to be fulfilled by the McDonnell F-4 Phantom, using a British strike aircraft would keep the two big allies in balance. Therefore, the Government ordered 38 Buccaneer S.22s. The S.22 was basically the same as a British Buccaneer S.2.
The RAN's first Buccaneers were hoisted into HMAS Melbourne for delivery as deck cargo in 1965. Deliveries were completed in 1966. By the end of 1967, HMAS Melbourne was ready to sail with 854 Squadron fully equipped with Buccaneers. The RAN's Buccaneers did not participate in the Vietnam War, though some of their pilots and observers did fly 2 Squadron's Buccaneers on exchange to the RAAF. In 1970, the government authorised a "mid-life update" for the Buccaneer. This update was carried out by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation, and included upgrades to the Buccaneer's weapons, and defensive systems. In particular, it gained the ability to use guided weapons, and the new Pave Spike pod. Deliveries of upgraded Buccaneers, designated Buccaneer S.22D began in 1972. The Liberal/Country Coalition government intended to use them in Vietnam, as a "political replacement" for the Task Force in Phuoc Tuy province, which was withdrawing. The Labor Government elected at the end of 1972 cancelled this deployment.
The Buccaneers spent the rest of the 1970s and 1980s on deployments, mainly in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. In 1990, the Government decided to retire the carriers, and replace them with two Invincible class carriers. HMAS Melbourne was already in inactive reserve. Some of 854 Squadron's Buccaneers were turned over to the RAAF as attrition replacements and parts hulks. It was the beginning of the end of the Buccaneer - at least it was until the invasion of Kuwait. HMAS Sydney, with 857 Squadron's Buccaneers, was dispatched to the Gulf. Some of 854 Squadron's Buccaneers, formerly attached to HMAS Melbourne, were sent to Bahrain to support the Buccaneers of 2 Squadron, RAAF. The HMAS Sydney's Buccaneers operated beside the US Navy's A-6 Intruders against targets in Iraq and Kuwait.
After a successful tour of duty in the Gulf, the RAN's Buccaneers returned home. HMAS Melbourne was fully decommissioned in 1992, and HMAS Sydney in 1993. The RAN continued to fly a small number of Buccaneers out of HMAS Albatross in Nowra, New South Wales for fleet support. The RAN's final operational Buccaneer flight took place in 1995. After that, 2 Buccaneers were retained in airworthy for the RAN Historical Flight, a number were turned over the RAAF, and the remainder were offered for private sale, or to Museums - including one at the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Nowra.
    Package
2 full aircraft, plus bomb racks. The S.22D uses the S.2B 1989 3D model for its Pave Spike station. The S.22D is edited to allow the use of US weapons.

  19. Blackburn Buccaneer S.22 - RAAF

This is the Blackburn Buccaneer for the Royal Australian Air Force. This package consists of complete aircraft.
    Historical Background
When considering its Canberra replacement, the Australian Government looked at a variety of options, including the Mirage IV, the A-5 Vigilante, and the TFX (F-111). Britain's Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral of the Fleet Lord Louis Mountbatten pushed the Blackburn Buccaneer. The Buccaneer did not come close to meeting RAAF requirements, but what if it was adopted?
Given the lower price of the Buccaneer, we would have had a more than 24 - perhaps twice that. Enough for 3 squadrons easily. Deliveries of RAAF Buccaneers began in 1965 to 82 Wing at RAAF Amberley, Queensland. The RAAF Buccaneers were given the mark number Strike Mark 22. They were generally similar to the Royal Navy's Buccaneer S.2. An ILS was fitted, and some of the carrier-deck equipment was deleted, but the hydraulic folding wings were retained. In addition to the British twin bomb rack, the BRU-42 Triple Ejector Rack was procured, and US bombs such as the Mark 82 and M117 were tested.
3 RAAF squadrons were equipped with Buccaneers. 1 Squadron was the primary strike squadron, 2 Squadron also performed the strike role, and was intended for forward defence if necessary, and 6 Squadron was tasked with conversion training and reconnaissance. 6 Squadron also backed up 1 Squadron.
2 Squadron was the first RAAF Buccaneer unit to see combat. It was deployed in 1967 to Phan Rang Air Base in South Vietnam to support the B-57 Canberras of the USAF's 35th Tactical Fighter Wing. Between 1967 and 1972, 2 Squadrons Buccaneers performed thousands of missions in South Vietnam. With the addition of electronic countermeasures pods, RAAF Buccaneers were authorised to operate over North Vietnam. 2 Squadron Buccaneers also provided direct support to the Australian Task Force in Phuoc Tuy Province. 2 Squadron lost 1 Buccaneer in an accident, and sustained no losses due to enemy action, though a number of aircraft were damaged by ground fire.
Upon their return to Australia, the Buccaneers moved towards a precision strike role with laser guided bombs, and maritime strike with the AGM-84 Harpoon. A number of ex-Royal Navy extra aircraft were purchased to replace attrition. Progressive upgrades kept the force operating efficiently.
In 1990, Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion of Kuwait. 2 Squadron's Buccaneers formed part of the RAAF's contribution to Operation Damask. RAAF Buccaneers attacked Iraqi ground forces, airfields, and communication and transport infrastructure. Unlike RAF Buccaneers, the RAAF Buccaneers dropped bombs from their first day. The RAAF's Buccaneers used laser guided bombs, and introduced the AGM-84E SLAM into RAAF service. The Buccaneers also took part in the Battle of Bubiyan using Harpoon missiles against the Iraqi Navy. 3 RAAF Buccaneers were lost to ground fire, with 2 aircrew killed.
2 Squadron's return to Australia heralded the twilight of the Buccaneer's Australian service. In 1992, the Australian Government dropped plans to upgrade the Buccaneers and began to look for a replacement. The Buccaneer would continue in the strike role until 1996, and a small number would be used for reconnaissance until 1998.
The options to replace the Buccaneer were the Panavia Tornado, and the F-15E Strike Eagle - but those are skins for another time, or another modder.
    Package
4 full aircraft, plus bomb racks, and bonus materials. The aircraft have been edited to use US weapons, and to allow the BRU-42 Triple Ejector Rack. Internal carriage of laser guided bombs is provided. 2 500 or 1000 lb Paveway bombs can be carried. The bomb bays will also carry 4 M117, or Mark 82.

  21. SF2 Yak-14 Mare (What If) Pack

    SF2 Yak-14 Mare (What If) Pack       7/21/2019
-For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended)
This package contains a "new" aircraft, the Yak-14 (NATO Codename "Mare") advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft.
It is based on, and rebuilt from, Pasko's T-33 T-Bird as this was the aircraft (suitably repainted and rebadged) used in the 1949 motion picture "Jet Pilot". This represents the aircaft flown (#58) by Lt. Anna Marladovan (aka Olga Orlief) as played by Janet Leigh.
The aircraft is finished in "Soviet Dark Green", and all markings are decals. Skin maps remain in lo-rez bitmaps. All marking are decals, and decal Randomization is TRUE. New era specific Soviet pilot figures are included (the newer 'RedAir1' figure). It uses all stock 3W Soviet/WP weapons, but 'new' drop tanks are included. The canopy operates with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0 (zero).
On the aircraft selection drop down, you'll see:
    Yak-14 "Mare" (P)
The (P) designates that this was built from Pasko's old T-33.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions.
Please see the "Notes" section for a list of changes to make the aircraft more SF2 compliant
This one was done purely for fun!! Enjoy it in that spirit!
    Happy Landings!

  23. SF2_2008_Dhimar_Cheetah_C(DH).7z

Always, shopping for more air frames due to long running conflict with neighbor Paran, in 2008 the Dhimar Air Force began operating a squadron of Atlas Cheetah Cz acquired from South Africa.
I'd unzip the file into a temp folder and read the readme files. Its easy to install if you've modded your mod folders before. Basic Mod add on.
Only tested on Full 5 merged. Mostly I think you'd get by with SF2 original & SF2 Israel to be safe. If you load the plane and files in you mod folders and for example and the big Arabic numbers on the tail don't show up, I'll have to find what CAB file they're in and modify the requirements.
    Original Work:
    Aircraft - Denis Oliveira
    Skin - paulopanz
    Coupi - data, cockpit, loadout.inis
Decals - Spinners (SF1 Decal Pack)
    Ordnance Shop - 331KillerBee (Weps)
Mirage IIIO - Thirdwire (DLC Store)
    Sounds - Thirdwire (?)
    This Mod by StoneAxe1492
I used Gimp for Decal and Skin modding. Notepad of course.
I took the liberty of modifying the flight characteristics of this plane. If don't like my version simply use the original data file. (It may be a issue with my joystick/throttle thing-muh-jig. I often get insane roll rates with hardly any stick movement & i can't hang.)
Hope you like it. Let me know if you need help or find a prob.

Designed to attack the US Navy I am sure this is what Iran wanted it for. This Aircraft was put together with SF1 and SF2 Freeware Items. This Foxbat will for sure test your fleet and put the pressure on the F-14 Tomcats!!!

  25. SF2 Polish Air Force JAS-39E/F Gripen NG

In 2014, the Polish MoD decided to replace the fleet of Polish Air Force's ageing MiG-29s, which were becoming more and more obsolete and not suitable with the requirements of modern combat. The new promising Swedish design of an upgraded JAS-39 was chosen and the deliveries began in 2018 with 64 aircraft purcahsed in total, both one- and two-seaters.
That's the little background story. The mod itself includes the E and F versions of the aircraft. It is generally based on USAF Gripen NG mod by @dtmdragon which you can find here https://combatace.com/files/file/16048-f-39ab-griffin-blk-15-gripen-ng-for-the-us/?tab=comments
    The pack includes:
    JAS-39E
22 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego (Tactical Air Base) skin with the "Knight flagship" paintscheme (aircraft no. 6036) 23 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego skin with the "Kosciuszko flagship" paintscheme (aircraft no. 6020) 23 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego special NATO Tiger Meet paintscheme JAS-39F
22 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego paintscheme 23 Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego paintscheme
All respective credits go to the creators of the original Gripen model, you will find the list here, many thanks to them: https://combatace.com/files/file/14351-tsf-saab-jas-39-gripen-flygvapnet-package/
Important note: the aircraft in this pack DO NOT use 100% accurate Gripen NG models but rather modified JAS-39C/D. I am not a 3D modder and I couldn't make one myself.
To install, unpack the zip archive and paste the contents of "to mod folder" folder into your game's mod folder. Read the Knowledge Base for more instructions. The mod was created and tested with the full 5 install of SF2 with the latest patch.
You can use and distribute the contents of this mod ONLY as freeware. Remember to give credits to the authors.
