  1. ************************ Royal Navy Sea Kestrel FRS.1/2 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 V2.0 ************************

Due to technical internet issues Cocas has asked me to release this for him as he's unable - This is the V2.0 update of Cocas and Spinners fantastic "Sea Kestrel" pack and is a fairly comprehensive overhaul of the original pack with almost everything either new or improved! This pack includes all the Effects, Weapons and Sounds required to run on a standalone setup but it has only been tested on an Full 5 Merged setup.

    Installation
    -------------

Unzip then copy and paste the Effects/Flight/Objects/Sounds folders into your Mod folder (usually C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 **or whatever yours is called**).

    AIRCRAFT
    ------------

    Aircraft Specific Info -
    ----------------------

Sea Kestrel FRS.1 ('88 - '05) - Designed for the Royal Navy as a Fleet Defence Fighter with a secondary ground attack role. The Sea Kestrel's hovering ability allowed the Royal Navy to keep it's carriers smaller and therefore cheaper. All 3 Sqns were painted in Extra Dark Sea Grey with High Viz roundels.

Sea Kestrel FRS.2 ('06 - '20) - This massive upgrade saw everything from the engine to weapons to the avionics all hugely upgraded, especially the weapons. It included a new Nose mounted FLIR camera and the ability to carry the more advanced weapons that the RAF had developed for the Navy. All 3 Sqns were repainted into Medium Sea Grey.

    OTHER INFO
    -----------

    Issues -
    ------

Hovering is quite difficult at 1st. With a fuel weight of under 25% and no weapons you can hover at around 55% thrust but without a working Nozzle gauge it's difficult to tell where your nozzles are pointing, especially as the 3D model nozzles stop moving at only 40' visually! My recommendation is to apply fully forward nozzles (98.5') and then slowly move it backwards until the engine exhaust dirt looks like it's pointing at 90' but it's not ideal (see Alternate Cockpit below).

The mapping is "interesting" in some places with stretching, especially on the 2 Booms. The 3F skin (winter Camo) was really tricky, so much so that I wanted to punch a thousand cute kittens by the end after spending hours/days trying to get the edges to match up! So sadly it's not as good as I'd like but the PS templates are out to so hopefully you can improve on my skin.

*******If you find any issues or find that I've got something wrong please contact me on CombatAce - http://combatace.com/user/64030-ianh755/ *******************

    -------------------------------------------------
Alternate Cockpit Usage (for Advanced Users only) -
    -------------------------------------------------

Included in this pack is Bobrocks fantastic Harrier AV-8B cockpit which, as it includes important Nozzle info, makes hovering much easier. However the Cockpit is more limited in comparison to the Kestrel (F-23/29) version so, if you're not bothered about trying to hover that much, I'd stick to the original Cockpit. Installation is simply dropping the Cockpit folder with it's 2 ini's into your A/C and altering the aircraftname.ini to point to the 2 new ini's. I'd make a backup before you though just to be safe! Please use at your own risk, if you don't know how to alter ini files then please don't attempt to install the new cockpit in case you break something!

    THANKS

  2. Hi, this is my adapt for the Yak-141, i just put things together and made it to work in SF2 standard, everything has been made to put it in the respective mod folders, if you are prompted to overwrite, please do so, the only part you need to work with, goes to the Soundlist.ini which you need to extract and place it in the flight folder, and add the following lines:

SoundFileXXX=GSh301................ XXX standing as the next number in the sounds sequence.

    [GSh301]
    Priority=NORMAL
    Looped=TRUE
    NumBuffers=4
    3DSound=TRUE
    DopplerEffect=FALSE
    MaxDist=1000.000000
    MinDist=50.000000
    InsideConeAngle=360
    OutsideConeAngle=360
ConeOutsideVolume=0..............this goes at the very bottom
    of the sounds list.

I used a modified Su-27 Flanker cockpit, since it`s the closest one to the real plane, based in pics i found, also the avionics are more modern, just to think as a what if this plane would have entered in service, she would be active as of today.

    VTOL Operation Checklist:

    1) BE SMOOTH AT ALL TIMES....Deploy air brakes (required to raise forward lift engine intake screen)

    2) Set flaps to full

    3) Set nozzles to full down position

    4) Release wheel brakes

    5) Apply throttle SMOOTHLY. You will start lifting at approx. 87% throttle. Under no circumstances should you apply more than 89% throttle when in VTOL mode, or you will loose control when the AB kicks in.

    6) As you're gaining altitude, dip the nose forward slightly while still in VTOL mode to gain forward momentum.

    7) Raise the landing gear, and begin swiveling the nozzles back (as smoothly as possible), as you gain forward speed.

    8) Retract the air brake/intake screen as you pass 80 knots, raise the flaps all the way at 170 knots,

    9) Did I remind you to be smooth as often as I should have? : )

    10) Practice makes perfect!

This mod is uploaded using the Freeware Licensing Terms by the Forum, but i want to thank to the following individuals:

-Gabilon, the creator of this beautiful plane.
-Oliver, BPAO Anguille for the Cockpit (thanks wherever you are)
-Lindr2, who tweaked the cockpit in his MiG-29 beta release.
-The Trooper, for the fabulous pilot.
-Fubar512 who made some modifications to the FM, and they are noted in this read me.
-Deuces, for the MiG Afterburner effects and fuselage vapor effect.

If i forget someone here, pelase let me know and i will credit you, my apologies in advance.

I hope you enjoy this mod and if you have any questions, don´t doubt to ask me here in the forum, or via PM.

  3. F/A-16E Silver Falcon for SF2

This is my mod of an advanced USAF strike version of the F-16. It is based on the F-16I Sufa by the Viper Team and is released under their permission. Cockpit and avionics are modified to reflect more modern systems. The aircraft has an IRST sensor (special thanks to cocas) but it does not work in game.

    Skins included:
    - 35th FS
    - 36th FS
    - 80th FS
    - 175th FS
    - 194th FS
    - 510th FS
    - 524th FS
    - 555th FS

    Credits:
    - The Viper Team for the F-16I Sufa
    - cocas for the IRST sensor
    - Julhelm for the F-22 pit
    - dtmdragon for cockpit and avionics modifications
    I hope i didn't forget anyone.

To install unzip into your mod folder.
I highly recommend you to download and install The Viper Team's Israeli Vipers (http://combatace.com/files/file/13342-iaf-f-16cdi-by-the-viper-team/) to get all the necessary sounds and effects.

    IMPORTANT NOTE
This mod was created with full 5-merged SF2. If you don't have SF2 North Atlantic go to the FA-16E.ini and change AvionicsDLL=AvionicsF14A.dll to AvionicsDLL=Avionics70.dll to get your radar to work properly.

Because this mod is based on The Viper Team's work, you will need their permission to modify and upload it.

  4. BAe Sea Kestrel FRS.1 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a fictional operational version of the British Aerospace P.1214 project in service with the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm.

The 3D model is by Cocas and I've been honoured to have been allowed to play with it and package it up for release as best as I can with limited time but I hope you enjoy it as much as I have because it's huge fun! Three Royal Navy skins are included in two different shades of grey and I've also included a USMC 'Shamrocks' skin as a bonus.

    BACKSTORY

The cancellation of the proposed CVA-01 aircraft carrier in 1966 left the Royal Navy with no replacements in sight for both HMS Eagle and HMS Ark Royal and thus began a slow and painful run down in the Fleet Air Arm's fixed-wing capability. But in April 1973 the Admiralty were given a glimmer of hope by being allowed to procure three 'anti-submarine warfare' carriers of the Invincible class. Whilst primarily designed to accommodate large numbers of medium sized ASW helicopters the Admiralty sensibly allowed for the deployment of the V/STOL Harrier and quickly followed up the order for the carriers with an initial order for 24 Sea Harriers (later increased to 34).

Entering service in 1978 (but not declared operational until 1981) the small Sea Harrier force performed remarkably well in the 1982 Falklands Conflict and with confidence high the Admiralty immediately planned for the attrition replacement of the six Harriers lost, the speedy introduction of an improved version and also the design and development of a supersonic V/STOL successor. The first two elements of this plan were immediately approved but, in January 1983, the Admiralty were informed that the Sea Harrier replacement would have to be part of the RAF's Air Staff Target 403 (AST 403) essentially for a planned successor for the Jaguar and Harrier in RAF service.

During this time the British Aerospace (BAe) design team at Kingston (formerly the Hawker design team) had been sketching advanced V/STOL designs to meet AST 403 and could see that the involvement of the Royal Navy would lead to a larger UK programme and also open up a larger export market for an aircraft designed both for land-based and carrier-based use. By March 1983 the Kingston design team had dusted off their P.1214 project and offered several versions to the UK Ministry of Defence. The build-up to the 1983 British General Election saw the Conservative Party, led by Margaret Thatcher, make capital of the UK's victory in the previous year's Falklands War and on the promise of 'strong defence' announced the decision to procure a successor to the Sea Harrier on June 2nd, 1983 with an order for 50 P.1214's for the Fleet Air Arm and a further 200 P.1214's for the RAF with initial deliveries going to the Royal Navy. Development moved smoothly and, as a nod towards the P.1214's lineage, the BAe design team renamed the aircraft Kestrel II.

Entering service in May 1988 with the newly reformed 899 Naval Air Squadron the Sea Kestrel FRS.1 served with four frontline Fleet Air Arm squadrons seeing service in both Gulf Wars and also the Second Falklands War of 2002.

  7. Douglas A-4E Skyhawk 'VPAF' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire A-4E to create a fictional Skyhawk in service with the Vietnam People's Air Force in the 1975 to 1990 timeline.

    BACKSTORY

The building up of the Vietnamese Air Force during 1970 and 1971 as part of President Nixon's 'Vietnamization' process saw it become the world's sixth largest air force and in August 1971 it's capability was given a boost by the transfer of 40 A-4E aircraft flown by USN pilots from carriers positioned around Dixie station who delivered them to Bien Hoa airbase near Saigon. Bien Hoa was itself being handed over to the Vietnamese Air Force at that time but a US presence was maintained
to help with the handover of the aircraft and a four-month conversion course for air and ground crew commenced alongside the establishment of the two squadrons chosen to fly the Skyhawks.

During early 1972 the Skyhawks saw limited action until late March when they were pitched against the North's 'Spring Offensive' but they were hampered by the poor weather under which the North stormed forward and with the switch to strategic attacks on the North by the USAF the Skyhawks were withdrawn as Linebacker 1, and the more concentrated and effective Linebacker 2, took centre-stage until the bombing was finally halted and an uneasy ceasefire was introduced after the
    Kissinger-Tho Peace Accord.

During 1974 the drastic reduction in financial assistance from the US began to hurt the Vietnamese Air Force who retired many aircraft to flyable storage condition including the remaining Skyhawks and with limited funds they preferred to reactivate the elderly A-1 Skyraiders for close air support when skirmishes between NVA and ARVN forces began to become more frequent. NVA advances during late 1974 had been slow but steady but the North had continued to build up their forces until
they were unleashed in early January 1975 and advanced quickly to capture Ban Me Thuot and the nearby military airfield where the mothballed Skyhawks were discovered although at least six were damaged by NVA shelling.

Like many Vietnamese Air Force aircraft the Skyhawks were pressed into service with the Vietnam People's Air Force who were quick to show the aircraft in service for propaganda purposes but who also found the Skyhawk to be a useful attack aircraft and used the type in the border conflict with the Khmer Rouge forces of Cambodia (Democratic Kampuchea) and the invasion of Cambodia in December 1978 quickly followed by attacks against invading Chinese forces in February 1979.
These actions and the deteriorating spares situation led to the grounding of the remaining Skyhawks in the early 1980's but it is believed that spares were soon obtained covertly to keep them in service until 1990.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the A-4E_VPAF folder into your Aircraft folder.

    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the A-4E_VPAF folder into your main Decals folder.

  9. F-20A/F-20B Tigershark ReMod Pak

=For SF2, Any and All (but Full 4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!!)

    - A "What If..." Aircraft Mod -

*Full 4/5 Merged reccomended, as the RAF skin make use of the stock 3W F-4M serial number and plane-in-group letters. You =MUST= have, at least, SF2:E as part of you game installs. If not, you'll have to find substitute decals for the RAF skins*

This is a re-release of Veltro2k's F-20 Tigersharks. This pak contains 2 complete aircraft, the single-seat F-20A and the 2-seat F-20B. Both are fully combat capable, however certain mission tasking is NOT assigned to the F-20B, due to hardpoint limitations, and the lack of an internal ECM suite (no jammer; chaff & flares included at no extra cost).

Skin/Decals included in this pack are (names in paranthesis are the actual folder names):

    F-20A:
2 Tone Blue/Gray (2Tone - nation tagged as 'generic' -would be a good HAF skin!)
Air Superiority Gray (Gray - nation tagged as 'generic')
    10th TFS, 50th TFW (Gray2)
1 Hikotai, JASDF Martime Blue (JASDF)
    57th FW, Nellis AFB (Nellis)
    ROCAF Gray (ROCAF)
92 Sqdn, RAF overall Gray (RAF)
92 Sqdn, RAF Grey Green (RAF1)
92 Sqdn, RAF Grey Green 2 (RAF2) -loviz markings
    75 Sqdn RNZAF (RNZAF)
    ROCAF Gray -no squadron- (ROCAF)
    RSAF - Saudi Arabia (RSAF)
110th FS, 131st FW, MO ANG "Lindberg's Own" (MOANG)
114th FS, 173rd FW OR ANG (ORANG)
119th FW, ND ANG "Happy Hooligans" (NDANG)
    159th FIS, FL ANG (FLANG)
Football City Air Force (FBCAF -from "The Wingman" series)

    F-20B:
    57th FW, Nellis AFB (Gray)
56th FW, Luke AFB 2 Tone (USAF)

Decal randomization is set to TRUE for all. Skin templates for BOTH aircraft are included, as are several decal templates. Skinners/decalers are ENCOURAGED! to create other users/markings/etc. Damage textures are in DDS format.
Unfortunately, the archived zip file for the original skin/ini mods was corrupted, and I was unable to retreive all the information from it about them.

    When 'in game', you'll see

    F-20A TigerShark (v2k)

    F-20B TigerShark (v2k)

displayed on the aircraft selection drop-down window. This will differentiate these aircraft from any other Tigersharks that may exist.

No weapons are included, as it references (for the most part) stock items or those from the GunnyPak, or other aircraft mods (in particular, the JASDF EO bomb), but sounds are. The spine antenna & intake "thingy" created by Raven is included, along with the FakePilot needed to "attach" it to the F-20A.
The loadout ini makes use of nation-specific and start-year specific loadouts. Some even actually work as advertised. The included Userlists are correct; the countries listed were those that actually considered the Tigershark at one time.
The canopy operates via the Standard Animation Keystroke, Shift/0. The FM remains essentially the same, and REALLY needs MAJOR fine tuning by an Expert! (no, seriously! it can be a bit squirrelly at times)

This is a VERY large package (771 MG unzipped), as all the skins remain in their 2048x2048 bmp format (approx 12megs per map!). You can, of course, convert to jpg at your leisure. It's sorta suggested, ya know!?, for those with limited HD space.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, the Legal Statement has been changed with regards to these aircraft.
For those that still have the original releases, you need not redownload this pak; you should have everything within it already. But if you want too ... feel free to do so! :). There HAVE been several changes in several of the inis you may wish to examine, and add.

**These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created**.

    Good Hunting, and Happy Landings!!
    wrench
    kevin stein

ps: the screenies are from the original release, and do not reflect the addition of the ADF blade antenna. Also, not all the included are displayed. The others are inside the zip.

  10. Mikoyan MiG-21bis 'Croatia' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire MiG-21bis to create a semi-fictional MiG-21bis in service with the Croatian Air Force who actually operate the type but not in this two-tone grey scheme. Perhaps a more talented modder can reproduce their excellent real world schemes and add them to this package.

This revised pack simply adds two USAF skins as bonus content and with basic decals.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the MiG-21bisC folder into your Aircraft folder.

    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the MiG-21bisC folder into your main Decals folder.

  11. So here we go with the readme:
    Installation:
as usual in your mod folder

    BACKGROUND
During the first Iraq War in 1991, a group of iraqi MiG-29 decided to desert trying to escape the fate their comrades faced against the overwhelming power of the USAF, US Navy and their allies. Their escape ended over the Golan Heights, where they were intercepted by a entire squadron of F-15 Baz and F-16 Netz patrolling. Due to some misunderstanding between the deserters and the defending pilots, two MiG-29 were shot down and the remaining ones got escorted to the Ramat David Airbase.

Israel handed the pilots over to the US for further interrogation and kept the MiGs for studies. The capabilities of the plane convinced the commanders of the IDF. Israel offered Mikoyan Gurevych a offer for the license they could not refuse to accept, since MiG suffered a lot financially after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The MiG-29 was modified by IAI. Two years later, the first MiG-29I Shu'Al did it's maiden flight on the 24th of June 1992.

After only one Year of Service the Major flaws were known to the IDF. So IAI further upgraded the MiG-29I the Updates were so intense that the Shu'Al recieved a new name now it´s called the Shunar(Lynx)

    the Mig recieved Following Upgrades:
    -ECM
    -Refuelprobe
    -new Radar
    -implementation of IDF Weapons
-additional mounts for chaff an flare dispensers
    -laserpod station
    -ability to mount F-16 wingtanks

IDF Command transfered the "Shunar" to the 105th Scorpion Squadron and sended them to Dhimar to Protect the Kingdom and to enforce the nofly zone
under the command of Natasha "Black Widow" Romanov in November the 2nd 1994. several other squadron will replace the aging F-16A with the start of 1995

  12. SF2 Lockheed (Y)F-12A Starduster by Veltro2K

    =For SF2, Any and All (Full 5 Merged Prefered/Reccomended)

Re-release of Veltro's F-12A Interceptor. This is the FULL aircraft, with pretty much everything needed. If you have the original release, it's advised you delete it and use ONLY the items supplied herein (been some changes, doncha know!).

This package also includes all the various 'tweeks' from my 2011 modification pak.
The skin has been converted to jpg, and decal randomization is set to TRUE.
Weapons, sounds, pilot figures, etc, from the Tweeks Pak are included. And a NEW SF2-style hangar screen.

This assumes a fully operational aircraft, so when in game you'll is listed as

    F-12A Starduster

On the aircraft selection drop-down menu.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them! Veltro's original and my 'tweeks pak' readmes are included.

  13. SF2 WW2 Focke Wulf P.II Jet Fighter by Timmy - A What If Luft '46 Mod

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --
    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged ( Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) =

*There is a possibility that this mod may work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However due to the excessive modifications made to fit into the SF2 environment, not all features will be avaliable.*
*Note X2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in the ETO envrionment. A seperate skin for the MTO is included, but not 'activated'

Mods, rebuilds, and general 'messing with' for Timmy's FW P.II jet fighter, to bring it more in line with SF2 useage.
This mod is designed to REPLACE any 1stGen variant you may have in your WW2 ETO intalls. It is reccomended you delete the aircraft and decals folders of the originals, as to NOT cause any conflicts with THIS mod.
This package represents P.II Project, as a production model called "Ta-173" (I couldn't think of anything else!) as deployed in Western Europe and the Med. Skins/Decals in this pak are:

    JG 1 Oesau

    JG 2 Richthofen

JG27 Afrika, in a overall 'tan' desert camo (stored in a seperate folder inside the main aircraft folder called 'a-MTO skin'). It is suggested that this skin ONLY be used in an MTO-centric mods folder (it would look funny in western Europe!!)

Skins are in their original bmp format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. New damage textures are included, in DDS format.

A (semi) compliant SF2 FM was cobbled together from various sources. As always, while it works well enough, further fine tuning is required by Experten.
Sounds, pilot figures and weapons (R4M rack) are included, as well a new SF2 Hangar and/or Loading screens, in jpg format.
Mission tasking has been limited, due to the aircraft's rather short range.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Timmy's original readme is included for historical purposes.

    Happy Hunting!

  14. BAC Lightning F.1C for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 EP2

This is a very simple mod of the Third Wire Lightning F.2A to give a fictional Lightning F.1C in an all black scheme.

Please note that this mod requires you to have the excellent Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2.

    BACKSTORY

Along with the upgrade of the Lightning F.2's of RAF Germany the earlier Lightning F.1A's and F.1B's were upgraded to a similar standard emerging as the Lightning F.1C. Entering service with No.56 Squadron in 1968 the final squadron to operate the type was No.111 whose aircraft wore this black retirement scheme during 1977.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Lightning1C folder into your Aircraft folder.

    2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Lightning1C folder into your Decals folder.

  15. SF2 P-80 Shooting Star, World War 2: 1946 mod

    = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged ONLY)
    - For WW2 ETO "Luft 46" & PTO "SWOTP" style installs -

**This mod will ONLY work in SF2 Game Installs.***

Mods to the KAW F-80 by ErikGen (re)create a "What If..." version for WW2:46 usage. This mod will REPLACE the version I built many years ago from the Pasko F-80. However, I DID reuse the decals (you all know how much I hate wasting good decals!!!), and actually had to remake a few. So, if you have the earlier 1stGen mod of Pasko's, you are instructed to delete the aircraft and decals folders. As stated, this replaces that one COMPLETLY!!

This is the complete aircraft, with almost everything you need! I didn't include any weapons (bombs, rockets, etc) other than the drop tank data inis, as the tanks are built into the aircraft LOD. The pilot figure you also should have already.
You'll find in this zip 3 skin and decal sets:

    ETO:
    336th FS 4th FG
487th FS, 352nd FG (Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney)

    PTO:
416th Fighter Group (74 aircraft!!!) -historically, the furst unit to field them, post-war.

Given the "What If.." nature of the mod, the start service date is listed as April, 1945. This makes the assumption (oh!! that word!!) the Normandy landings did NOT succeed, and more jets were appearing in Luftwaffe service. So, 8th Fighter Command rushed into service the P-80A Shooting Star to counter them.
Same can be said for the PTO version; based on Okinawa for Operation Olympic, they can reach Kyushu fairly easily.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, the "Notes" section for other important stuff of interest.

    Happy Landings!

*yes, even though 6 P-80s were touring Europe and the Med in 1945, they were NOT operationaly used. Given the speculative nature of the mod, it has been placed here, in "The What If.." hangar, and not into the WW2 aircraft downloads section. Enjoy!*

  17. This is a mod of the JAS-39C from the Gripen Team to make it look like fighterplane for the israeli air force.

    BACKGROUND:
Israel, although not being part of the european community (not even being on the european continent) was almost always treated like being an european country. After the EESP-signment, Israel offered Italy and Greece to replace their Vipers with Barak- and Sufa-Versions from IAI. In exchange and tying in with the cooperation concerning the Chez (israeli Draken), the IDF wanted the Gripen as a replacement for their aged Ahit.

The EU was ok with that treaty and allowed Italy to exchange their planes. Greece refused and decided in favor of the Gripen and the EF-2000 Typhoon. At the end of 2012, Israeli received their ordered planes and named them 'Kherev' (Sword). From the 72 ordered planes, 16 were two-seaters.

The Kherev was the first plane in the IDF to receive a digital camo.

  23. This mod adds the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as a user of the A-6 Intruder. It has been tested with Strike Fighters 2 Full 5+2 merged install with the A-6 Superpack 1.51 installed. It should work with less than a full 5+2, but requires the following SF2 versions to take advantage of the respective components:

    SF2V for the A-6A
    SF2NA for the A-6E and A-6E_79

The A-6 Superpack 1.51 or later is recommended, but not required in order to use the A-6A, A-6E, and A-6E_79. The A-6 Superpack 1.51 is required in order to use the A-6E_90 Systems and Weapons Improvement Program (SWIP) variant.

The included SQUADRONLIST.INI is a part of the file that will be included in the Combat Ace Realism Pack. As a result, it is compatible with DaddyAirplanes' F-4 Post Vietnam skin pack. At the time of this writing, the Combat Ace Realism Pack has not been released. If you have downloaded this pack after installing the Combat Ace Realism Pack, then be sure not to copy over the included SQUADRONLIST.INI, as a more updated one will be included in the Realism Pack.

In order to take advantage of the full features of the RAAF Intruder Pack, this readme is intended to be used in conjunction with the Readme for the A-6 Superpack 1.51. Thorough reading of this file and strict adherence to the instructions is highly recommended. As always before making any changes to your SF2 install, back up early and back up often!

    Introduction
As early as 1954, the Australian government first publicly discussed the need for replacing the Canberra. The Canberra lacked radar and electronic countermeasures (ECM), and the RAAF believed that it needed a new strategic bomber to fulfill the nation's obligations to the Commonwealth Strategic Reserve in Malaysia, ANZUS, and SEATO. A requirement mandated an all-weather attack aircraft capable of delivering a variety of bombs and missiles.
Air Marshal Valston Hancock, Chief of the Air Staff, stated in April 1960 that Australia needed a replacement for the Canberra, and in 1962 Indonesia's increasingly aggressive statements regarding Malaysia soon caused Australia to seriously consider Hancock’s statement. The Sydney Morning Herald reported in October 1962 that the Indonesian Air Force's Soviet Tupolev Tu-16 bombers could reach Sydney or any other Australian city with a light bomb load, while the Canberras could not fly in all weather and had insufficient range to reach Djakarta.
However, available bombers were unsuitable for the RAAF. The American Boeing B-52 Stratofortress and Convair B-58 Hustler, for example, were too large for existing Australian runways. More suitable aircraft such as the British BAC TSR-2 and the American F-111 would soon be available.
Candidates for replacing the Canberra included the French Dassault Mirage IV, the TSR-2, and the U.S. North American A-5 Vigilante, Grumman A-6 Intruder, McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II and the General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark.

    Decision and Alternate History
When the RAAF was evaluating the replacement aircraft for the Canberra, they eventually settled on the F-111. The F-111 met the RAAF endurance and all weather attack requirements, as well as being supersonic and having a respectable self-defense capability. The government determined that it did not need to go ahead with an immediate replacement for the Canberra and opted for the F-111 as a long-term solution, leading to the October 1963 announcement that it was ordering 24 F-111s.
The development and production lifecycle for the F-111 was complex, lengthy, and troubled on occasion. Additional requests by the Australian government to modify the existing F-111A airframe to what would become the F-111C only lengthened the acquisition process. While the announcement to purchase the F-111 was made in 1963, the first F-111C was not delivered until 1968 . In the interim, the RAAF was using the F-4 Phantom II as a stopgap measure.
What if the RAAF decided to forego the troubled (at the time) F-111 and augment its force of F-4 Phantoms with the A-6 Intruder as its all-weather, deep strike platform?
This pack is strictly a "What If" set of skins and loadouts that explores what might have happened if Australia purchased the A-6 Intruder from the United States. This pack includes skins for the A-6A, A-6E, A-6E_79 (TRAM), and A-6E_90 (SWIP) in the Southeast Asia (SEA) camouflage pattern, as well as other variants based on the RAAF camouflage schemes of the time. Given that the A-6 Intruder is meant to replace the F-111C Aardvark, this pack features the squadrons, skins, and serial numbers of actual F-111 airframes (though serial numbers of aircraft involved in fatal mishaps have been omitted out of respect for the fallen). Second squadron is represented, as it flew the Canberra in the Vietnam War, and First and Sixth squadrons have been added to SQUADRONLIST.INI as the actual squadrons that flew the F-111 (and therefore the A-6). A-6 specific squadron logos have also been added to the RAAF squadrons included in the Mirage IIIO DLC, though this was done for completeness rather than “alternate historical accuracy.”

    Limitations
This mod enhances default aircraft. If you don't have the default A-6 LODs, then this mod is of limited value to you.
Additionally, this pack is unfortunately not flyable without further modification. You will need to provide your own cockpit in order to enable player use of the A-6. Two notable options are extracting the A-6 cockpit from Wings over Vietnam, or by purchasing RAZBAM's excellent A-6 pack for Strike Fighters (recommended). Likewise, plenty of existing SF1 A-6 mods include cockpits that are compatible with this pack. Regardless of which selection you prefer, any cockpit you use for the A-6 Superpack will be compatible with the RAAF A-6 Intruder Pack as well.

    Installation
The RAAF A-6 Intruder Pack is divided into three components: the Primary Component (RAAF A-6 Intruder Skins), a folder for widescreen users that replaces the existing 1024x768 aircraft screens with 1440x900 images, and Section 2 of the Readme file which provides instructions for optional and recommended adjustments to existing INI files. Please see the readme file for further details.

  24. CF-110M Phantom II for the Royal Canadian Air Force
This is a reskinning and ini edit of TK's F-4M Phantom II from SF2: Europe.
Two skins are provided, a South East Asia skin for hypothetical Canadian participation in the Vietnam War, and an Aerospace Defence Command Grey skin for NORAD service.

    ======Back Story========

The idea for this aircraft comes from my alternate history site. It was first operated by this alternate Royal Canadian Air Force in 1969 (in this timeline, there was no unification in the Canadian Armed Forces)
The RCAF originally did not want the Phantom, being content to stick with the Thunderchief and the Voodoo until the TFX (CF-111C) and FX (CF-15) were ready during the 1970s.
Canadian participation in the Vietnam War changed that. Canada committed Voodoos to defend the social democratic North Vietnam from Nazi German forces operating from the South and from Burma. The CF-101's inability to dogfight, and unreliability in the harsh tropical conditions of North Vietnam made early replacement necessary. The only aircraft available was the CF-4K, being introduced to the RCN as its strike fighter. McDonnell and Avro Canada devised a land-based version with minimal changes. This entered service in 1969 and quickly went to Vietnam. After the war ended in 1975, the Phantom replaced the Voodoo entirely in the RCAF.
The wikia article for the aircraft itself is found here:
