+allenjb42 Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 While the bulk of CVW5 are involved in exercises with regional partners, the CAP and alert aircraft are kept busy with the real-world mission of intercepting a steady stream of PLAAF snoopers... Some try to fly NOE to get past the gatekeepers A CAP with Hawkeye support is deployed overland to track the bogeys Interception made, the J-10s climb to be escorted off the premises The Chinese try something new, and these birds are not detected.. You're looking the wrong way guys Oh Sh..where did he come from? The bogey's wingman makes his presence felt And the intruders are out to make more mischief with the CAP flight supposedly searching for them... Eventually a Mark One eyeball spots the bogey at 5 o'clock high Drop tanks and break...Now But the PLAAF jets have already disengaged, descended to low level and are rapidly egressing, still undetected by radar Looks like tensions in the South China Sea have ratcheted up a notch. To be continued.... 10 Quote

To be continued.... Hey @allenjb42, is that a J-20? Where can I find that? That said, such a shame I'm stuck with Su-27 variants with my current project. They seem to just keep burning up because stealth was never a part of Sukhoi's 1970s Flanker design... 1 Quote
+allenjb42 Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Correct. It's the Insky J-20 It was here but I think it's been removed Mandatory screenshot 1 Quote

JosefK Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Did some playing around with a possibility of adding the F-35 to my JSDF 2020 mission pak, found it just didn't make sense with the current SF2 weapons load. That said, did automate F-2As attacking simultaneously to send sinking the Udaloy & 2 Ro-Ros just right on their own... 2 Quote

JosefK Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Well since @kblomkvist is working on a F-35A skin for the JASDF, I decided to see about the feasibility of a F-35A mission in the upcoming first version of the Nihon Hitori 2020 single mission pak. I can think of just the perfect use for the F-35A with the current (publicly available) weapons load: Air Defense Suppression. Especially since the 8 SDBs and gun carried internally can take out a lot of air defense vehicles & guns with some substantial stealth. The Mitsubishi F-2A "Support Fighter"? Not so much. With that, here you go: 1 Quote
Nightshade/PR Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 The Demon is well named...especially on approach to the carrier. It wasn't pretty, but any landing you can walk away from... 8 Quote
