Next to the Kuwaiti chieftain mk5 Kuwait and the Battle of the Bridges Kuwait had 143 Chieftains on the eve of the 1990 Iraqi Invasion of Kuwait. Thirty-seven Chieftains of the Kuwaiti 35th Armored Brigade fought at the Battle of the Bridges against elements of the Iraqi Hammurabi and Medina divisions before withdrawing over the Saudi border.[ None of the brigade's tanks was lost in the battle, and the 35th Armored Brigade (known as Al-Fatah) became part of Joint Command Forces East during the 1991 Gulf War and was able to return to Kuwait undefeated. Besides those of the 35th Armored Brigade, the rest of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces' Chieftains (136)[29]) were either destroyed or captured by the invading forces after they had been abandoned by their Kuwaiti crews when their ammunition ran out. After the liberation of Kuwait, the aging Chieftains were replaced by the Yugoslav M-84.

Back to the beginning for anyone who missed a chance to contribute first time round. Remember: - One aircraft per letter - You should be using the aircraft name, nickname or codename if possible, not the manufacturer unless there is no alternative. so: Avro Lancaster would be L Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet would be J Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker would be F Boeing 707 would be B All clear? OK, lets play... A is for Apache

View File SF2 F-102A (v2k) 64th FIS Skin & Decal Pack SF2 F-102A (v2k) 64th FIS Skin & Decal Pack 7/4/2021 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) This package contains all 2 new skins for Veltor2K's F-102A Delta Dagger. They represent the 64th Fighter Interceptor Squadron "Scorpions" from 1956 thru 1969. Within this package you'll find: ADC Grey (56-66) when the squadron was based at McChord AFB, WA, and when assigned to PACAF from Clark AFB, PI. SEA 3 Tone (66-69) when based at Tan Shon Nut, RVN, Clark AFB and in South Korea during the Pueblo Crisis. Almost all markings are decals, excepting the ADC Grey's tail badge. I experimented with a decal, it didn't look as good as it should have. So, going against my usual practice, it's painted on the fin. All 26 serial/buzz numbers are 100% historically accurate for this squadron, for -both- skins. The 3-tone SEA camo has the proper Tail Code assigned when the squadron was based in the Phillipines and Southeast Asia (Vietnam era), and correct serial presentation. Decal randomization is TRUE. As this unit is listed in the game's SquadronList.ini, their displayed name is activated via my (patent pending) fake "SqTail.tga", and will be visible on the Loadout Screen. The SF2 "date switch" is only used on the SEA 3 tone skin with a 1965 start date. Also included is a (slightly) upgraded AIM-4F Falcon missile, station specific coded for the F-102A. As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! Happy Landings! We have a lot of aircraft in this sim, but X is difficult. I don't think we have an X-15 (do we?), so the best I can think of is the XP-72A Superbolt:

Dear Pilots, Today’s Developer Diary has two cool items to announce. First, you can’t stage a Normandy invasion without some dashing British gents jumping out of airplanes. So, we built some. Next, we are excited to announce that our next payware historical Scripted Campaign is coming soon and it’s called – Steel Birds! Pre-orders will begin next week! Created by our master mission-specialist Alex “Blacksix” Timoshkov, Steel Birds focuses on Fw-190 A-5 operations in the Kuban theater in late spring 1943. You'll take on the role of the newly appointed flight commander in 5. Staffel of the II./Sch.G 1. Under the command of Hauptmann Frank Neubert this Gruppe has just completed a retraining program and has relocated to Anapa airfield to support the operations of the German 17th Army. The campaign is set from April 14th to May 16th, 1943 and is centered around the struggle for a bridgehead at Novorossiysk (Operation Neptune), and two major Soviet offensives in the area of Krymskaya, which ended with the withdrawal of German troops to a new line of defense in early May. The sharp increase of the Soviet air strength in the Kuban led to one of the largest and fiercest air battles ever on the Eastern Front. In this difficult situation, you have to strike artillery batteries, transport and armored columns, airfields and battle formations of enemy advancing troops. We’ll have more about Steel Birds next week when we formally launch pre-orders for this historically bases campaign. Release is scheduled for August. Some images from Steel Birds are below. And finally, we have some images from the new Advanced Quick Mission interface that is coming later this summer. We saved our old “campaign” system technology and have laid it over the existing QMB to give you added depth for missions that can be created quickly. We think this will be an entertaining new feature that will allow you to fly missions with more structure, but not be as big a commitment as the Pilot Career or as simplistic as the QMB battles. This new AQM, alongside our other mission-making tools such as the existing QMB, Pilot Career and Mission Builder, plus all the great third-party apps like PWCG by Pat Wilson and EMG by SYN_Vander gives the Great Battle series an amazing number of options for creating entertaining mission content. Enjoy! The Sturmovik Team

N is a bit harder. There is the IAI Nesher, of course, but also the Nieuport-Delage NiD.52 and the Hawker Nisr (the Audax in Iraqi service in 1941):

i've said it in other places, F-15EX would be an excellent buy if they used it for its original role when proposed 5 or so years ago: replacement of the F-15Cs used in the air soveriegnty role by the Air National Guard. but the US military being what it is, we like to tack things and missions on. that said, it will still be a good investment in that - it will be a newer airframe accomplishing the same mission. less maintenence down time, meaning overall cheaper to operate - the USAF will finally move away from its F-15 platforms being solely air to air. the second seat is expected to be utilized for training and to have a WSO for air to ground. when pure air to air one seat is expected to be used - with the recent experiments in using F-15Es as literal bomb trucks (up rated loads just for carrying from one base to another), another CFT'd platform would help accomplish that mission set, further enabling the USAF's goal of being able to operate from small remote airbases in IndoPac the F-22 and F-35 are expensive, and while the USAF would have loved to replace entire fleets with them, the fact is they are going to be a combination of Day1 silver bullets and day... the rest... quarterbacks, using their greater situational awareness of the air space to direct the 4th gen platforms. Those 4th gen platforms are more likely to be there when needed if they are built in 2022-6 rather than 1982-6
