View File A4D-2 (TW A-4B & Nyghtfall's A-4E pit) 'Rework' "My rendition of the A4D-2 (Before 1962 change to A-4B & C)" INSTALL – unpack/unzip file contents and drag/copy to main YAP Revamp Works (Whatever you have named it) folder. THANKS TO: * Nyghtfall and Wrench for their help in working/moving cockpit items techniques. *Repaint of Nyghtfall's outstanding A-4E pit. *TW A-4B stock jet - required for AR probe. *Repaint/numbering of A-4A fuselage, Nose, tail numbers from ChampionsVA56 suhsjake. *J65-W-5.wav engine sound from ChampionsVA56. ** Included is a A-4A_DATA – SAM_Lgt_Active.ini file which activates SAM threat warning equipment if desired. Don't think this mod was worked in until later A-4 models. *** Had problems getting the program to load different BuNo, TN, Modex, etc. Sometimes none at all? Had to select in the loading phase of a mission each acft individually – then they would show? If anyone can help regarding this tail no issue please help. "If SAMs were launched at a Wild Weasel, it was the backseater’s job to track them on a tiny, two-square-inch cathode-ray tube and call out maneuvering measures to the pilot. The usual SAM-avoidance maneuver was to wait until the missile was danger close—about a mile—and then perform a 4G pitchout that broke its radar lock". https://www.historynet.com/why-pilots-loved-the-f-105-thud-despite-its-vulnerability.htm Having used this maneuver in-game WITH an F-105, my personal name for it is the "This Sh*t Better Work" move.

The tactic lead to a modified guidance mode being added to the SA-2 in order to prevent such an evasion.

Eye Candy or not, it's a beauty. So many years ago, this model introduced a wide-eyed country kid (masquerading as an adult) to places in the world that he'd only read about in books. Like so many people, I was saddened to see them retired. But at least here, she lives and flies again. Thank You.

Hello fellow FE2-ers, Just a quick note for those running FE2 on Intel-based Macs (either in a WINE program or directly in Win7, 8.1, 10, etc. in Bootcamp) -- that you might find the info. in the following post (regarding WOFF/WOTR and the latest M1, ARM-based Macs) helpful. In short, for now - recommended is to keep flying FE2 only on Intel-based Macs, in versions of Windows no later than Win10. No guarantees at this point that Win11 can be effectively "shoehorned" onto Intel-Mac hardware, nor any guarantees as to how well FE2 may run in Win11, if at all. Furthermore, the latest ARM-based Macs only support ARM-based vers. (not the x64 branch) of Win11, and only via virtualization (no direct bare-metal Win11/ARM installs available for latest Macs so far -- the point is ultimately an irrelevant one I suppose since FE2 will never be "translated" to run as an ARM-based application anyway -- and I doubt that it would run stably using the x86/x64 virtualization layer that is found inside ARM-based Win11 installs anyway). Happy flying all, Von S

I saw this (Warthunder Hun, YT vid, I don't have it myself to dig onto it): And i liked it, so I made this: But I'm wondering if it was like that in real life, the only other gunsight i could see seemed from the stubby tail early As and it looked just like the F-86s, while this one looks closer to WW2 sights, but I found them to be pretty useful.
