4 pointsYou will surely have realized, that in the two Beta versions the parked planes were parking somewhere on the gras. I'm now working on this subject and creating airfield files with correct placement for parked planes. Its a puzzle job and will need some time.

4 pointstime: 1968 place: Cannon AFB, New Mexico during the Pueblo Crisis, 3 Air National Guard units were federalized, and placed on active duty there. One of these was the 138th TFS of the New York ANG. Here we can see on of their Sabre Hogs heading out to the bombing range for practice

3 pointstodays exercise in self punishment: this little ole unit also featured a color stripe below the red. yellow or green, and i can only find positive photo confirmation for 7 of 21. add to that, there might be purple in the mix too. the three photos i have for that are too blurry to be certain

1 pointin the Russian war i believe it was to fight the invaders, and help Muslim brothers in the case of the foreigners that came to fight. in the American war, while there were many who fought to drive us out there were also many cases of people who got paid to dig a hole, or put a heavy bag in the hole that was dug, or cover that hole up taking care of the command wires coming from the bag. some did their part for their side of the war effort out of belief, some just did what they had to to make 50 or 100 bucks for their family. either one wound up at Bagram if caught though.

1 pointIIRC there is a way. You can create new formations in the formation.ini file. Then you must open the nations.ini file and add the new formations to the nation. example: lines from formations.ini: [FormationType010] Name=WW2GerFighter BaseLevel=2 Level[01].Name=Staffel Level[01].Size=4 Level[01].Formation[01]=StaffelTrail Level[02].Name=Schwarm Level[02].Size=2 Level[02].Formation[01]=Schwarm Level[03].Name=Rotte Level[03].Size=2 [FormationType011] Name=WW2GerAttack BaseLevel=3 Level[01].Name=Staffel Level[01].Size=3 Level[01].Formation[01]=WW2GerAttackSqd Level[02].Name=Flight Level[02].Size=2 Level[02].Formation[01]=WW2GerAttackFlt Level[03].Name=Element Level[03].Size=3 Level[03].Formation[01]=WW2GerAttackElm [FormationType012] Name=WW2GerBomber BaseLevel=3 Level[01].Name=KampfStaffel Level[01].Size=2 Level[01].Formation[01]=WW2GerBomberSqd Level[02].Name=Flight Level[02].Size=3 Level[02].Formation[01]=WW2GerBomberFlt Level[03].Name=Kette Level[03].Size=3 Level[03].Formation[01]=WW2GerBomberElm [Nation076] Name=Nazi Germany DisplayName=Luftwaffe Alignment=ENEMY PilotNameList=NamesGerman.lst RankList=RanksGAF.lst CallsignList=CallsignsUS.lst Formation.Fighter=WW2GerFighter <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< new Formation.Attack=WW2GerAttack <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<new Formation.Bomber=WW2GerBomber <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< new Formation.Transport=WW2GerBomber <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< new Formation.Tank=USTank Formation.MobileAD=USAD PilotTrainingStandard=NORMAL GenderRatio=0

1 pointAfghani fighter is not wrong. A lot of them fought only for money. But perhaps Dollar fighter would be more correct.
-
1 pointI never have time to play SF2 anymore, but I still enjoy coming here and seeing the new mods, especially all the recent insurgent and Taliban stuff you've been making, GKABS. PS: I don't want to be that guy, but it's Afghan. Afghani is the currency

1 pointno, its a good catch. my fault for not checking closer, ravenclaw did the model but with alot of input from me the new A was to correct a tractor beam shadow off the old model. and to be honest, i think we both thought of the B as being just like the A save for a second seat. am forwarding this to ravenclaw, at least its caught before the bigger ADF release

1 pointThank you Streakeagle. Having flown Wrench's V2K Banshee, I was a little disappointed in the Razbam flight model. It's a bit lumpy by comparison. I also tried the F2H-3, and you can't remain in the air at carrier landing speed. So I put the Razbam cockpit in Wrench's aircraft and everything is tickety boo. Apart from the fact that the Razbam cockpit is missing a few instruments. The dials are there but the working needles aren't. Distance Readout and Wet compass are significantly not there. Still, if everything was perfect first time around, you wouldn't have the fun of solving problems.

1 pointThanks for the mod, Kevin, greatly appreciated. I am by no means an F-16 expert and I may be wrong, but I think there are a couple of errors with the new models of the F-16A/B ADF variant - I would say the shape of the tail fin is wrong on both the A and B ADF models. F-16A/B aircraft had the shorter and narrower triangular base for the tail fin. The wider and longer triangular base was introduced with the F-16C/D Blk25 aircraft. By looking at the F-16A/B ADF models in this mod, I would say they have the F-16C/D longer and wider triangular base for the tail fin with the ADF specific side bluges added and blade antenna removed. On a second note, according to the F-16.net site, the F-16B ADF differed from the F-16A ADF not only in being a 2-seater, but also in the lack of a Bendix-King AN/ARC-200 high freqeuncy single-sideband radio. The radio, being installed in the leading edge of the tail fin of the F-16A ADF lead to the flight control accumulators being relocated to the side of the tail fin. To provide sufficient space for the flight control accumulators, 2 long bulges appeared to the side of the F-16A ADF tail fin. Since the F-16B ADF did not have a Bendix-King radio installed, the flight control accumulators were kept in their original location and so no side bulges were needed for the tail fin. It means, that the F-16B ADF looked much like the F-16B Blk15 OCU with just the "bird-slicer" antenna added in front of the cockpit and in front of the front landing gear well. I have attached a couple of pictures of real F-16B ADF and a few screenshots from Mue's tool - of the F-16B ADF from this mod, of the previous F-16A ADF model from TMF, of the F-16C Blk25 with the blade antenna hidden for the purposes of illustrating my point, of the F-16B Blk15 OCU model and a couple of scrreenshots from the front to illustrate the incorrectly shaped wider triangular base of the F-16B ADF model compared with the F-16B Blk15 OCU model. I think the older F-16A ADF from TMF had the correct size and shape of the triangular base of the tail fin and the F-16B ADF should have the same size shape but without side bulges. I hope I will be excused for the nit-picking. Kind regards, Svetlin

1 pointThe second Beta is released. Contains now reworked russian airbases at the Crimean Peninsula, a SAM network there, factories as targets, the Sewastopol Harbour and a little bit more. The number of target areas climed from 31 to 54.

1 pointI'm leaving them blank like in the movies. 'USAF' F-16Cs patrolling West of Alaska, 1988.. (We need those weird Russian markings for the 'MiG-29s' to do Iron Eagle II full justice)
