View File Forrestal class aircraft carrier FORRESTAL class US NAVY aircraft carrier ======================================== The model depicts a ship circa 1990. Of course, each aircraft carrier looks a little different, but this is more or less what the USS Saratoga (CVA-60) and USS Independence (CVA-62) looked like during Operation Desert Storm. Model was tested in ODS30 addon and SF2 NA. INSTALLATION ======================================== Just copy files from [C O P Y T O G A M E F O L D E R] to your game folder ;-) In [Extras] folder you can find new ship smoke emitter. ======================================== The 3d model, game files and skins are mine. Parking spots done by allenjb42. Many thanks to the ODS30 team for their help in testing this ship. ************************************************************* This is FREEWARE-DONATIONWARE and it CANNOT be distributed unless permissions are granted by myself. It's a standard 'speed indicator - Mach meter' gauge. Here's how it's done. This is from the F-4E cockpit made by Ravenclaw The Mach meter part is gratued up to Mach 2.4 --- And this is the speed indicator from the F-14 TMF cockpit : There's only one part to indicate the Indicated Air Speed. The Mach meter part is missing. It can be fixed only by reworking the original 3D source file of the F-14 TMF cockpit. As it is an old cockpit (2010) it's probably impossible for various reasons.

For such a popular bird, it was difficult for me to find a photo with this detail of the cockpit... I complement what MigBuster comments (edit) this tomcat reached mach1.2

Not all correct - I have not read it properly. The IAS looks good but the other dial for Mach is not on there (as said above) and it is supposed to be. More surprised that was left off.

The texture could be redone if it were verified that the path of the needle resembles the scale eg at 6 = mach 1.0

@toro The campaign is like this by design, just like the campaigns of Strike Fighters 2 Vietnam. Naval fleets ala SF2NA only work in so called naval campaigns, but naval campaigns remove night-time missions and force the enemy aircraft to find and attack the opposing naval fleet, which is not proper for the Gulf War scenario. We cannot have the best of both worlds, so the campaign won't feature fleets. One possible workaround I'm planning for a future update is to add other ships as terrain objects, they'd be static but at least would populate the Gulf during the campaign.

Damn that's a shame, it's such a basic thing to actually see the speed you're going, especially in a plane with no digital speed indicator such as the A and B Tomcats
