  1. meh i saw that message two weeks ago seriously though, i believe thats been up there all this year
  2. gotta try not to be bogged down in them, but you gotta apprecieate the little details in things
  3. those who know, know whats coming next (even if its not quite half done yet) same skin!
  4. ooooh shiiiiiiiii-neeeeee
  5. in the US, there's only two branches: the Army and the Navy. because the Air Force is a corporation, and the Marines are a cult. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ yes its an older joke. i guess the Space Force is government sponsored cosplay? and i forgot about the Coast Guard, but thats okay. everyone does
  6. good advice. i had the same issue last night, brought the site up on Edge, then cleared out in Firefox. tacky as it sounds, it was a direct result of reading this thread you should make it sticky or post a new permanent (and locked) thread at top of the Bugs forum
  7. LT. Dan, you got no wings!
  8. gotcha, although i will wait on yakarov's potential new crew members. i was tinkering more than i was trying to adjust the helo pilot that info is good enough to need to find its way into the knowledge base though, as simple reversal would improve many models (tail gunners anyone?)
  9. appreciate the offer currently working with Prop Pilot, although for the birds you can see into (cargo, not typically post WW2 bombers) could go with airline style and regular air force flight suit style with headphones for the one working the radios it actually doesnt need to be anything too fancy, as the pilots flying heavies dont usually wear a lot of survival gear like fighter and bomber crews and at game scales and most folks tendency to zoom in, the patches are too small to tell who they are ideal would be a set of five, one pilot configured with headphones, one pilot without, one facing port, one facing starboard, and one facing rear. the left right and rear folks should be positioned more like typing or reaching for a screen than as if flying. sorry, there arent too many good pics of flight engineers on the internet of 2021, these pics are more for general appearance of the uniform than anything else final note, tried changing values in the helopilot01 same as done with the Prop_Pilot i'd love to report that it flipped him to but there was no noticable change. so the address and/or values change up with each model. damn, i could hope
  10. looks better than my list. although i go to work something off and get distracted with a new shiny other project....
  11. first and last shots of the Abrams, with the ammo racks burning/burnt out are not a sign of vulnerability but a design feature. it vents the fire and explosion upwards away from the crew and gives a chance to get away when it dies down. the turret removed shot and the one where its on fire and looks like it was stomped look to me like ones that were hit by 1000-2000lb IEDs. there were enough laying around Iraq between 2003 and 2005 for it to be a not uncommon thing i wont claim they are invulnerable. saw enough of them in a holding area in Balad in 2005 to not believe cable TV or the technothrillers. but it is pretty rare to hear of a US crew dying in their tank if it doesnt roll over.
  12. cooler yes. functional, im not so sure. but i preferred the YF-23 back before it was cool (reading the latest updates in AW&ST back in 91), and it has a wider flatter appearance too.
  13. lucky. i tend to get the "oh well i really wanted to serve but....." right after mentioning 21 years being all i could be (yes that was still the recruiting slogan for the Army when i went in)
  14. got into a FB arguement last week because the a fan Carolina Panthers football team posted a pic on their page of "stealth fighter" silohuettes dropping beers. the silohuette was of a Su-57. now, the team is located in Charlotte NC, which has an ANG unit that lies C-17s. local unit and more appropriate for dropping beers. i jsut point out it was a russian jet and the local plane would be a better choice anyhow. guy that posted got into a big arguement with me that i was wrong, they were F-35s, like (and heres where it gets interesting) "the ones stationed at Ft Bragg" (an Army base) "next to the YF-22s at Fayetteville". he knew what he was talking about because he used to be in teh Air Force. i figured it would be a waste of time to point out i was stationed at Bragg for 13 years total, and there were no Air Force aircraft of any type stationed there anymore as the Air Force base reverted to Army control (from Pope AFB to Pope AAF). but yeah, people dont really do much homework anymore
  15. interesting, and suspected. further, changed to 803x a through f and changed thickness of the pilot. but when i ran anything in 80xF outside of 3 or b, the model disappeared in lodviewer
  16. loadmasterin', seeing how much more can be loaded on teh B model than the A
  17. so i have the following entry [FltEng] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT SeatID=3 ShowPilot=TRUE PilotModelName=PROP_PILOT SetCockpitPosition=TRUE Position=0.617,12.275,0.775 MinExtentPosition=-0.615,12.25,-0.770 MaxExtentPosition=-0.595,12.50, 0.780 //SeatModelName=seat_F-15 SeatModelName= SeatPosition=0.593,16.58,0.249 CanopyNodeName= is there anyway to turn the pilot so hes face to the right or left via ini edit? and if not, is there a way to change the orientation in Max so the pilot is 90 degrees of the "normal" facing front postion? looked up EricJ's tutorial and through the KB, and remember there was a thread about this with another bird (facing backwards in this case) just dont remember what the outcome was
  18. had done some rivets in the past, just got back to it with the latest rendition on teh -141s. cheated and made myself a template with a big straight line, then copy past and shrink . gonna add to it with a big circle of rivets (for round panels, curves and rounded corners) and a couple of angled lines (cause a little bit of definition is lost when you take a vertical line and rotate it to the angle needed) but hats off to you riveters. and a reminder of why i do big birds with very colorful paint schemes
  19. moving on along
  20. dude, Yugo tank's got TWO Subwoofers! sorry, had to, will show myself out the door now .........
  21. well, A is off to the QA shop, now on to B
  22. why the A2? why not the A5? would say A6 but thats a little further in time than most of us mod (late 90s) still, an A2 spot on for Desert Storm and closer to KFOR and OIF than the current M109 for Vietnam we have.....
  23. green light GO!! one thousand, two thousand, three thousand fo-wer, oh my lord im out the door
  24. i like this. i wouldnt reccomend as a ini release because everyone has seemed to need different settings to get what they want, but for those that can work an ini this is great for clearing up the bottom im set for 1920x1080, but had to set my values as follows [MessageWindow] //BackgroundImage=TextBackground.tga TopLeftPosition=0.01,0.795 BottomRightPosition=0.210,0.825 my adjustments VerticalBorder=0.0015 HorizontalBorder=0.008 also my MaxMessages was set for 8, and i left that rather than drop to 1.
