Okinawa/Japan - Version 3 (WW2)
By Wrench
Okinawa Terrain Upgrade, Version 3.0
For SF/SFG/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO modded installs, 06 Patch Levels
This mod is a extensive rebuild to Edward's WW2 Okinawa terrain, and is designed to COMPLETELY replace any and all eariler versions. This is the COMPLETE terrain, with all tiles, TODs, inis and terrain objects necessary to (almost) just unzip and fly over. YOU, the End User are still responsible to locate the various and sundry Ground Objects and Aircraft needed for you PTO flying pleasure. I've supplied MANY, but more are not included. This map has been re-designed with Operation Olympic in mind, hence the island of Okinawa itself should be consided "nearly" secured; ie American and Allied forces have pretty much taken the island, and are building up for the Invasion of Japan. The time frame I have in mind in Mid-1945 to approx late 1947, or even into 1948 if needed. To that end, expect a Runway 4 (large airfield, albeit -NOT- historically correct) at Kadena for Bomber Operations, and several smaller auxillary fields to 'activate' themselves based on the year flown (ie: 1946).
Many completely NEW target areas have been added, and the map has been extensively retiled to create a more Japanese looking environment. This retiling 'resets' several cities, adds some rivers, creates clear zones around the various airfields, and corrects some other issues. The targets ini itself has been almost complety rebuilt, adding LOTS of interesting things to look at and blow up. TODs and tgas from "Green Hell" and another terrain project have been used to create forests and such, and several brand new custom TODs and and several new tiles have been created. These are based off the stock VietnamSEA tiling, so these new TODs are usable in ANY map that uses the WoV VietnamSEA tiles, or can easily be imported for any other terrain type.
This is a very 'target rich' environment -- there are plenty of items for strike and anti-shipping missions. It is also HEAVILY defended - so watch out for the flak. As expected, I added the 'Rising Sun' Japanese flag, and the Stars and Stripes. Several 'new' parked aircraft have been added; you'll see them if you look for them. There are also other bits of 'eye candy' floating around... :) I've included several updated data inis for some ships, as they now have semi-proper effects (IJN DDs now have smoke coming out the stacks)
You MUST have ALL the Pacific Objects (ground units, ships, AAA, infantry, etc) already installed in you PTO version of the game; otherwise things won't be appearing. This is especially important for the ships. See below in the "To Install" for more information. Don't forget to check Geo's page for more WW2 goodies ... there's a lot of stuff that's usable (and used!) here as well.
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST, WW2 NATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WW2 FORMATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
== MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WEAPONS PAK FOR THE WW2 WEAPONS!! ==
It has been tested in SF, WoV and WoE, using their cats pointed to in the main ini. As most of the new objects will be residing directly in the terrain folder, you should have no problems. (see the CombatAce Knowledge Base for the tutorial on using the cat pointer line). It has NOT, however, been tested in post 08 patch WoI or post 08 patch SF/SFG/WoV/WoE; nor has it been tested in the SF2 Series - it is NOT designed for useage in those type of game installs. If you choose to do so, expect NO support from me -- you're on your own. However, it IS usable ... it's just 98.6% of the aircraft are NOT!
As always, it's reccomended that you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop to gain access to the rest of this readme.
Follow these instructions herein =EXACTLY= and you should have no problems. It's =HIGHLY= reccomended you read this document completly through before installing this mod. In other words -- read this damn thing, or you'll get yourself in a jam!!!!
Good Hunting!
Wrench
Kevin Stein
ps: like the recent Solomons V3 pak, there are still a few new parked aircraft that are NOT finished yet, and therefore not included (doh!). When and as they are done, expect a VERY small update.

F-4C 8thTFW Operation Bolo
By mppd
F-4Cs – 8thTFW Ubon Operation Bolo - By Crab_02 and Mike Druzolowski
53 F-4C serial numbers which actually operated with the three squadrons of the 8th TFW at Ubon as of 01 January 1967. From these were drawn the aircraft to fly Col. Robin Olds' famous Operation Bolo mig killing mission the next day on 02 January.
Description: This package is two parts – a texture add-on for the 1966 F-4C pack available at CombatAce for the 433rd/497th/555th TFS which is the bulk of the serial numbers assigned in Jan 67, and a separate aircraft representing the "slicknose" variant of the F-4C seen at this time. Enclosed are two QRC-160 ECM pods attached to the left outboard pylon (the pylon does not appear when the ECM pod is assigned in a mission as it does when A/G ordnance is selected, so the pylon is attached) – one is camouflaged and the other white. Wing tanks are available in the 1966 F-4C pack. Also enclosed is an update to the 1966 base .LOD and wing tank texture updates. (Hey…I said that this was an ongoing project didn’t I….?) The new loadout.ini files have a [AirToAirLongRangeBolo] entry that can be used for a Bolo mission. Oh, and I made the ECM pod/pylon match the same weight/drag as the opposite wing tank so the bird flies straight – although when the tank is jettisoned you’ll be loaded asymmetrically again…..
Historical bit: FY1964 USAF F-4Cs coming off the production line for USAFE had the F-4J-style nose radome installed, and these started to become available to PACAF units late in 1966. This radome gave a small performance enhancement due to a bit less drag, but was removed early in 1967 as the AN/APR-25 radar homing and warning system was installed into the old IR-sensor housing. It is estimated that perhaps a quarter of the F-4Cs at Ubon at the time of Operation Bolo were configured this way, so the airplanes are not broken down by squadron. The airplanes flown for Bolo from the Wolfpack still retained the 1966-style Navy LAU-17 inner pylons (although one source that I found said that only F-4Cs with the new MAU-12 pylons were flown for Bolo, but photographic evidence tends to disprove this). All of these planes were modified to carry a single QRC-160 ECM pod on the right outer pylon (seen on the USAF A/G weps pylon as well as the early Navy pylon with the adapter (the latter is not presented here), and a single 370 gal drop tank on the left outboard station for the mission, and this became standard in Southeast Asia during much of 1967, until the inboard pylons were modified to accept the pods later in 1967.
As before, I made this package for the post-October 08 patched version for Wings over Vietnam (which is what I'm flying). Textures are again 1024 pixel resolution to help frame rates on modest systems (like mine) - so view the external views at arm's length, not extremely close-up please. Versions for SF2 with higher resolution textures are sure to follow.
My sincere thanks (in addition to Crab and TK) go to Sundowner - who originally shared his F-4 texture templates with me and what I started with originally, and also to drdoyo for his 1024 templates which helped, Ravenclaw_007 for the kind permission to include his super Martin Baker ejection seat in this package, and to Old Diego for kind permission to include his superb pilots, and to X Ray who did the superb pilot repaints (and whose name keep forgetting in the readmes).. Also my thanks to Mike France and Alan Howarth who know more about F-4s than I ever will!
Please contact me for any problems or issues - we'll do our best to correct them and make this even more authentic for what's to come. PM me at Combatace or E-mail at mppd@att.net please.

JH-7A Flounder For SF2
*******************************************************************************************************************
These from Wiki:
The Xian JH-7 (Jian Hong-7; NATO reporting name Flounder[1]), also known as the FBC-1 (Fighter/Bomber China-1) Flying Leopard, is a two-seater (tandem), twin-engine fighter-bomber in service with the People's Liberation Army Naval Air Force (PLANAF), and the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). The main contractors are Xian Aircraft Industry Corporation (XAC) and the 603nd Aircraft Design Institute, now named First Aircraft Institute of AVIC-1. The first batch of JH-7 aircraft were delivered to the PLANAF in the mid-1990s for evaluation, and the improved JH-7A variant entered service in 2004.

This is a very nice model of a modern Chinese attack aircraft. The original BETA release has been tuned to fix a few small issues. The Weapon Station attachment positions have been adjusted, the landing gear rolling radius has been tweaked, the engine fans rotate correctly, and the drag parachute works. This bird is nice to look at and brutally efficient at attack and shipping strikes. For any air-to-air work, the PL-8 heaters get the job done!
Shift 0 will open and close the canopy, and the drag parachute will deploy when the airbrakes are activated on the runway.
******** EVERYONE CAN USE THESE MODELS for all Third Wire projects, as you want.************************

F-4C 1967 – 8thTFW Ubon - By Crab_02 and Mike Druzolowski
80 F-4C serial numbers which actually operated with the three squadrons of the 8th TFW at Ubon during 1967.
Historical bit: The three squadrons of the 8th TFW at Ubon RTAFB adopted tailcodes on their F-4C Phantom II aircraft from at least July 1966. By early 1967 the F-4Cs within the theater had been modified with the addition of AN/APR-25 RHAW gear visible as a housing on the vertical stab above the rudder, and had received the new Air Force MAU-12 intermediate (inner) wing pylons. Some serial numbers are repeated for the different squadrons as many transfers between squadrons occurred during the year – so be careful that you don’t fly the same airplane numbers at the same time if interested in being historical. Some aircraft were seen carrying all olive drab 370 gal wing tanks, so those are presented here. Also a camouflaged centerline 600 gal tank sometimes seen is here too. Almost all airplanes seem to have had the original 6-inch serial number on the vertical fin painted out with olive drab paint. Mig kill markings were carried over from previous units (the 497th eventually ending up with most of them). Some 497th TFS planes seem to have had red nosewheel door numbers, but photos show that most other squadrons had none.
I made this package for the post-October 08 patched version for Wings over Vietnam (which is what I'm flying). Textures are again 1024 pixel resolution to help frame rates on modest systems (like mine) - so view the external views at arm's length, not extremely close-up please. Versions for SF2 with higher resolution textures are sure to follow.
Description: The airplane depicted is the Air Force F-4C as it appeared in early 1967 or later in Southeast Asia – Air Force MAU-12 pylons, tail fin tip radar homing and warning antennas and several other small antennas added, three tone camouflage and tailcodes.
New features include:
- New vertical stab and rudder shapes
- New nose radome and IR sensor housing shapes
- New detailed pylons and Sidewinder rails
- New 3D model cockpit (mostly invisible though...)
- New nose wheel doors
- Animated air refueling door (Sift + 8)
- Opening canopies of course (Shift + 3)
- New horizontal stab bases
- Camouflaged Fletcher wing tanks (with pylons that correctly jettison along with the tank) plus new centerline 600 gal tank with retained pylon
- Numerous small detail changes
Note that all textures for the stock Thirdwire F-4s can be made to fit with minor alterations - watch leading edge flap, vertical stab/rudder and intake splitter plate locations mostly.
Issues: I used many parts that I already had built, so separate bmps are included for the pylons, nose and rails - these should have been combined into one I guess.
My sincere thanks (in addition to Crab and TK) go to Sundowner - who originally shared his F-4 texture templates with me and what I started with originally, and also to drdoyo for his 1024 templates which helped, Ravenclaw_007 for the kind permission to include his super Martin Baker ejection seat in this package, and to Old Diego for kind permission to include his superb pilots. Also my thanks to Mike france and Alan Howarth who know more about F-4s than I ever will!

Solomons Islands - version 3.0
By Wrench
Solomon Islands Terrain -Version 3-
For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO mods, 06 Patch Level ONLY
This is a COMPLETE and TOTAL rebuild of Edward's WW2 Solomon Islands map. It has been completely retiled (pretty much by hand!) to use the VietnamSEA tiles, and the Green Hell trees/jungle TODs; several of which are NEW, and only availalbe in this mod. This is a FULL terrain, with just about everything included for you to unzip and use, with minimal difficulty. It has been fully upgraded to make use of the 06 level terrain effects, so Vista users please take note. It is designed to TOTOLLY replace any and all eariler versions.
This is a fairly 'target rich' environment -- the types and targets inis have pretty much been rebuilt from scratch, and the 'locations' in the Solomons_Nations.ini has been divided up into the various island named regions of this Theatre. There are also several completly NEW ground/terrain objects, creating via edits of pre-existing terrain objects.
You MUST have ALL the Pacific Objects (ground units, ships, AAA, infantry, etc) already installed in you PTO version of the game; otherwise things may not be appearing. This is especially important for the ships -- the Liberty ship, and all warships, both Allied and Japanese. It's HIGHLY reccomended you have Gepard's "Midway" terrain installed, along with his IJN/USN naval units -- I've made use of them for both Fleets. Don't forget to check Geo's page for more WW2 goodies ... there's a lot of stuff that's usable (and used!) here as well. Some items are included (see below in the 'To Install' for details)
There ARE some historical flaws, which as most of you know cheeses me off to now end; they are somewhat detailed in the "Notes & Explinations" section below.
The data ini has been upgraded to the semi-latest standards (ie: 2006 patch level). Water effects are active, so Vista users beware...more information for you is below in the Install Instructions. See "Notes for Vista Users". While not designed for use in 08 or SF2 level games, it is quite easily adaptable with minor additions/changes to the data ini. Consult the CombatAce Knowledge Base or the several hundred threads on the matter.
Follow these instructions herein =EXACTLY= and you should have no problems. It's HIGHLY reccomended you read this document completly through before installing this mod.
Note: There are several new terrain objects still in the works (some parked? docked? moored? seaplanes); they just aren't ready yet. So, rather than wait until they're done, I've chosen to release this "as-is". Expect an update with these 3 objects are finalized (those are actually the only thngs missing -- everything else is done!). This will, at least, give the Campaign Builders something to work with.
As always, it's reccomended you unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop to gain acess to the rest of the readme.

Mig-23UB cockpit tandem seat trainer/fighter with working UB HUD
By ordway
This is the Mig-23UB two seat trainer/fighter cockpit for Lindr2's masterful Mig-23UB.
The Mig-23UB was the Mig-23M's two-seat trainer. Production began in 1970 with about 1000 airframes. It has the Mig-23M HUD from Starfighter 2 and Lindr2, but has no radar as it apparently seemed too problematic to maintain in real life.
It was used for training and was heavily exported as some countries lost almost one fourth of their entire Mig-23 fleet to accidents. It had a backup fighter role...but without radar, it was limited.
It apparently kept the ASP-23D sight, the Kh-23 Delta-NM missile guiding equipment, the camera, and the R-3S and R-13M missiles for a limited anti-air capability.
It added, an AOA limiter and angle of attack indicator, the Poliot-1I-23 flight/navigation system with the SAU-23UB autopilot , a better failure warning system and a rear cockpit periscope were installed
Thanks to Nele for the optional alternate detailed UB flight model.
So the Mig-23UB usually had *no radar* on most airframes (some units might have retained radar).
It has a map, pencil and stopwatch for those precision approaches.
Oh...and why is 310 K/Hr plastered all over the cockpit- Read on!
From flying a two seat Mig-23: "Then we retracted flaps to take off position as he let me do the take off and fly around the pattern again. From the back on final all the instructor kept saying was 310 kilometers airspeed over and over."
http://www.warbirdsofdelaware.com/Airplane...87/Default.aspx
Directions:
1) Back up your Lindr2 Mig-23UB folder or download it first from:
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=9712.
2) Just download the whole filefolder Mig-23UB intact into your aircraft folder as one folder.
3) When asked to overwrite say yes.
-Finished!
4) OPTIONAL: Add Nele's alternate advanced Mig-23M flight model which is in the NeilFlightModel folder called MiG-23UB_data.ini. Just pop it in and overwrite when asked...back it up as always.
I personally strongly recommend it for getting an accurate feel of the Mig-23UB according to the published reports I have researched...but it is not for beginners.
Thanks to Lindr2 for all his sustained hard and dedicated work.
Thanks to Armourdave and Sal for the cockpit.
Thanks to Starfighter2 and Lindr2 for the HUD.
Not for payware.
Enjoy!

MIG-23MS Cockpit- export combat veteran version- Tangled with USN F-14s Version V.1.3 (Also version used by USAF Constant Peg aggressor program in USA).
By ordway
This is the SFP1 series cockpit (version 1.0) for the first export version Mig-23, the Mig-23MS of the Mirage factory. Download the Mirage Factory Mig-23 package here:
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...le=5211Mig-23MS cockpit almost ready.
This is the Mig-23MS cockpit in a light blue Russian color (from photos) and modded to the Mig-23MS standard from Armourdave and Sal's Mig-23 grey-colored cockpit. I believe that Mago & Badger 343rd did the orginal cockpit.
Changes:
I repainted it in a light Russian blue (from color photos) and added (and took away) some details, placards, added new switches and instruments and panels from color photos and Mig-23 cockpit diagrams of the Mig-23Ss. I deleted the radar warning reciever and eliminated the pitot tube.
The Mig-23 series was the USSR's "most capable tactical fighter during the height of the cold war" according to a Jane's recognition guide.*
The Mig-23MS export version saw heavy Arab-Israeli combat in the middle east and had combat with USN F-14s near Libya. It was a downgraded Mig-23 S/M export version with a Mig-21 RP-22SM 'Jay Bird' radar in a smaller radome, and the IRST was removed. It reportedly had a radar scope on the dash like the Mig-21 series. This variant had no BVR capability.
It was extremely fast at low level, had outstanding acceleration and a superb climb rate. However, it maneuvered like a truck (including roll). It reportedly shot down some Israeli F-4s and perhaps an Israeli F-16 according to some Russian and some other sources.

I find in the SFP1 series that if I attack enemy aircraft at max speed at extremely low level, that I can pop up and even kill an occasional F-16 and escape.
Directions:
1) Back up your Mig-23M folder .
2) Now secondly download this other additional Mig-23 package from the Mirage Factory and install it (the Mig-23MS will not work without it):
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5211
2) Just put this whole filefolder Mig-23MS contents into the Mig-23MS aircraft folder .
3) When asked to overwrite say yes.
Finished!
4) OPTIONAL: Add Nele's advanced Mig-23MS flight model...not for beginners. Just take the Mig-23MS_data.ini from the included Nele folder and drop it into the Mig-23MS folder. Say yes when asked to overwrite.
To go back to the easy original flight model just use the Mig-23MS_data.ini from the included original folder and drop it into the Mig-23MS folder. Say yes when asked to overwrite.
Enjoy!
Thanks to Mago & Badger 343rd for the original Mig-21 cockpit.
Thanks to Armourdave and Sal for the idea and modifying the Mago/Badger Mig-21 cockpit for original Mig-23 use so I could modify it further into Mig-23MS standards. Thanks to Nele for the optional advanced flight model.
V.1.2- I added buttons under the warning light panels as per photos and from experience on
the Mig-27 cockpits.
V.1.3- I made a panel wider and more visible. I added on a Hobbs-type meter.

J32B Lansen Interceptor For SF2

J32B Lansen Interceptor For SF2
BETA based on A32A model by Timmy.

Canit, deep stuff on all SAABs ~> http://www.canit.se/%7Egriffon/aviation/
Vectorsite SAABs ~> http://www.vectorsite.net/avsaab.html

A32A 3D model by Timmy.
Cammo Skin and Metal silver Skins by Timmy.
Dark Green Skin & national decals by Knug.
FM work by Lexx.
Euro001 Pilot by Diego.
Martin Baker Mk GW5 Ejection Seat by Ravenclaw_007.
Swedish RB Missile Set by Ravenclaw_007.
SF2 updates by NeverEnough.
Uses the Thirdwire SF2 F-105D cockpit and avionics. Every effort has been made remove as much of the Beta aspect as possible. The weapon positions on the pylons have been adjusted, the weapon stations have been tweaked to avoid model overlaps, and the weapon loadout has been tested to insure every plane in the flight is loaded for bear.
The lighting positions and wheel rolling radius have been corrected. FlapSettingForLanding and FlapSettingForTakeOff was added to the FlightControl section of the Data.ini, which helps the AI absolutely grease their take offs and landings!
TIMMY made a very nice model and Lexx assembled a data.ini which flys stable and sporty. The plane looks good, and fights just as well. There is no need to fear the MiG-17F.
TIMMY SAYS: Model and Template are available for those wanting to work with them.
Installation:
Simply extract the contents of the J-32B Lansen folder into your Mods\StrikeFighters2 folder.
Default Loadout:
4 30mm Aden Cannons
4 Rb24 Swedish Sidewinders
Basic setup for 12 Swedish 18cm-m49 air-ground rockets but this is just an example use of Timmy's great pylons. Timmy made this as an A32 so we
have 12 pylons here if they are used (invisible if not).
Conformal nonjettisonable belly tank.
Avionics is SF2 F-105D but basic radar performance (not display) tweaked towards J32B levels.
RWR is audio only.

Ed Rasimus's "Bat Bird" for SF2V
By Fubar512
Bat Bird Texture pack
by: Fubar512
This texture-set represents Ed Rasimus's F-105D, "The Bat Bird", as it would have appeared in its heyday.
The USAF had not fully implemented the two-letter tail code in those days, so birds from the 421st TFS flew with their vertical stabs unadorned, save for an abbreviated code. And that code consisted of the last digit of the fiscal year in which a particular bird was ordered, followed by its 4-digit serial number.
"Nose Art" was not officially authorized, so the Bat Bird insignia was present for only two weeks during Ed Rasimus's tour with the 421st.
I've also taken the liberty of tweaking a few values in the F-105D-66 flight dynamics file, including its power plant's thrust values and altitude tables. The former was corrected to the proper values for a J75-P-19W mill, the latter simply an expanded table to more accurately reflect performance at altitude.
Engine, gear, and flap sounds have also been provided.
Installation:
Simply extract the contents of the zip archive into your SF2V mod folder. It will overwrite only one file (the F-105D_66.ini file), and that will no effect it in any other way, other than changing the displayed model's name to it's correct one, and adding the necessary lines of code for the new texture-set.
It will also create sounds folder, if you did not have one, already.
If you're unsure of the location of your mod folders (it's location depends on which flavor of Windows you're running), simply go to the SF2 knowledge base at www.combatace.com, where you'll find all the help you need, and then some : )
Enjoy....

Nothingness (Testbed Terrain)
By jtin
This is a terrain of simply, nothing.
Why is this useful? Without all the objects and tiles it needs to load, it helps to minimize loading times. This is particularly useful in skinning (decal positioning), model testing, and target placement (which then can be copy-pasted to other maps). It includes two airfields (enemy and friendly) and two target areas, WITHOUT targets.
**For this reason, it is recommended that missions using this terrain either be RECON, SWEEP, STRIKE, or CAP.**
