Timor, North Oceania (1950-2018) Terrain
August 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
by Menrva
>For Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the Modern Darwin terrain made by Wrench.
A better and more complete tileset has been added, improving the looks of Northern Australia with the introduction of desert and barren valleys. Various rivers and lakes have been hand-tiled and mimic Real World courses. Now the island of Timor has a lot of bases to take-off from. Numerous target areas, such as emergency airstrips and civilian airports, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from August 17, 1950 (when President Sukarno proclaimed a single unitary Republic of Indonesia) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for fictional clashes between ANZUS/SEATO forces (namely Australia and New Zealand) and a random pool of Red Side countries (namely Indonesia and China).
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, naval fleets might spawn in the Timor Sea. Also, Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations.
Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain the most needed from Wrench's original Modern Darwin terrain release.
>Credits (in no particular order):
-Wrench, for he had the idea of recreating such a scenario in the Strike Fighters world.
-swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs.
-gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too.
-mue, for the improved shaders he made, which I have included and reworked for the terrain, and for the tools he made for SF2 modding.
-luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting!
-MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
-Stary, for the hi-res PTO tileset he made, which I have reworked and expanded.
-Brain32, for the gorgeous VietnamSEA tileset repaint he made, from which I borrowed a few tiles.
-Centurion-1, Spudknocker and tiopilotos, for the impressive tileset they made for the Angola terrain, from which I borrowed some tiles.
-Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!
-krfrge, who has produced a tutorial for recreating SF2-like planning maps, which prompted me to work on templates and my own high quality planning maps. Thank you very much!
-comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included.
Because the original terrain was made and tweaked numerous times by Wrench, I included the ReadMe files from his original packages, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

Ecuador, Northwest South America (1981-1998)

Ecuador, Northwest South America (1981-1998) Terrain
August 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
by Menrva, tiopilotos and Stratos
>For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
I am proud to present a new scratch-made terrain, the result of a joint effort of modders! Initially conceived by Centurion-1, the terrain was later salvaged by Stratos, who offered to help in its development together with tiopilotos. Stratos helped by hand-tiling most if not all the incredibly long rivers in the Amazon rainforest. The terrain later received an impressive tileset produced by tiopilotos! You guys have my deepest gratitude!
The terrain completely covers Ecuador, a great portion of Peru, and even touches Colombia and Brasil. However, only Peru and Ecuador have been targetized at this stage. Numerous target areas, such as civilian airports and airstrips, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from January 28, 1981 (the beginning of the Paquisha Incident) to October 26, 1998 (when a resolution of the Ecuadorian-Peruvian territorial dispute was agreed upon through the Brasilia Presidential Act); it is designed for the Paquisha War of 1981 and the Cenepa War of 1995. Most air-to-ground missions (armed recon, close air support, etc.) take place at the border between Peru and Ecuador, to provide an even more realistic scenario. As in reality, there are few SAM sites placed at their precise Real World locations.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some border outposts will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them, if you have SF2NA.
Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenarios.
>Credits (in no particular order):
-Centurion-1, for his interest in recreating such scenario in the Strike Fighters world. I heard RL got in your way, so... best of luck, mate!
-tiopilotos, for the massive tileset he produced, and for his continuous support in all my terrain modding efforts. Thank you very much!
-Stratos, for he brought to attention Centurion-1's unfinished terrain and offered to help realize it.
-Stary, for the various hi-res tilesets and TODs he made, which have been re-used in this tileset.
Although scratch-made, the terrain makes use of most objects and target layouts from Wrench's Panama terrain; because of this, I included the ReadMe file from that package, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

Texas, American South Central (1968-2018) Terrain
August 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
by Menrva
>For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a new, scratch-made terrain inspired by the original, smaller ASW terrain made by krfrge and reworked by Wrench.
The terrain covers to a good extent the American State of Texas, as well as some Mexican States. Major rivers and a number of lakes have been hand-tiled and mimic Real World courses. Numerous target areas, such as civilian airports and onshore and offshore oil fields, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from October 3, 1968 to December 31, 2018; it is designed for a fictional scenario where Mexico is invaded by an alliance of Central American countries (namely Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala) supported by the Russians; the remnant of the Mexican military flees to the U.S. and fights alongside North American forces. However, users are encouraged to recreate whatever scenario they like, even outside the given time frame.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields and Mexican oil platforms will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, American naval fleets can spawn in the Gulf of Mexico. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations.
Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenarios.
>Credits (in no particular order):
-krfrge, for creating the ASW terrain from which I drew inspiration; he also produced a tutorial for recreating SF2-like planning maps, which prompted me to work on templates and my own high quality planning maps. Thank you very much!
-Wrench, for he reworked the original ASW terrain with additional targets.
-swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs.

-luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting!
-MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
-Stary, for the hi-res tileset he made for the original ASW terrain.
-Polak, for a few tiles I borrowed and reworked from his old PRDesert2 tileset.
-Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!
-comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included.

Sweden, Baltic Rim (2004-2018) Terrain
March 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
by Menrva
>For Strike Fighters 2: Europe, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the Sweden terrain made by gillg, but set after the Cold War era.
What began as a simple tiling bugfix, for JonathanRL's The Scandinavian Front mod, turned out to be a huge overhaul upon noticing a number of inaccuracies. The terrain has been retargetized and hand-tiled to a good extent; major changes have been done to the Baltic states, which were pretty inaccurate in terms of target locations. Some rivers have been added and/or retiled to mimic Real World courses. Numerous target areas, including airports and highway strips, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from March 30, 2004 (the beginning of NATO's Baltic Air Policing) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for The Scandinavian Front's scenarios by JonathanRL, taking place after the Cold War era.
This terrain is a standalone version of the one which will be included in the last iteration of the TSF mod package by JonathanRL. The terrain that will be included in the TSF mod package will likely differ slightly from this one, so users are advised to keep that in mind. Also, this terrain uses only a single tileset. The TSF's version will use different tilesets according to the season, as originally designed by our fellow modder, Stary.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them, if you have SF2NA. Most of the main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations. Due to the complexity of the area, some inaccuracies are to be expected, but I did my best!
Ground Objects are not included. Download JonathanRL's The Scandinavian Front mod package to have all that you need for this scenario.
>Credits (in no particular order):

Libya, Central Mediterranean (1980-2011) Terrain
February 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
by Menrva
>For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the Libya terrain made by Dave and further tweaked by Wrench during the years.
The entire terrain has been retargetized and hand-tiled to a great extent using a different, more complete tileset; Sicily, Greece and Tunisia no longer are barren, deserted lands as seen in the original. Major rivers have been added and mimic Real World courses as accurately as possible. Numerous target areas have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from June 28, 1980 to October 31, 2011 (the official end of NATO's Operation Unified Protector); it is designed for Operation El Dorado Canyon, the Gulf of Sidra incidents of 1981 and 1989, Operation Odyssey Dawn and the subsequent Operation Unified Protector. Also, a specific Red Side target has been added inside Tunisia (Blue Side) territory, meant for Operation Wooden Leg.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them, if you have SF2NA. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations. Expect to see temples at historic sites!
Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenarios.
>Credits (in no particular order):
-Dave, who had the idea of recreating such an important scenario in the Strike Fighters world.
-Wrench, who kindly allowed me to improve upon his work by giving me a blank cheque and trusting my capabilities. Thank you, sir!

-comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included.

Madagascar, Southeast Africa (1977-2018) Terrain
December 13th, 2017 (1st Release)
by Menrva
>For Strike Fighters 2: Europe, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the AE terrain made by Deuces and Dave, further tweaked by Wrench.
The entire map has been retargetized and extensively retiled; Mozambique is now a lush green jungle, not a barren desert as seen in the original. The Comoros and Mayotte islands now properly exist and are carefully populated by towns and airports. Numerous target areas have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from May 30, 1977 (the beginning of the Mozambican Civil War) to December 31, 2018. Despite the given time frame, this terrain is not right for reproducing the Mozambican Civil War. Instead, the terrain is meant to pit the French Navy against the combined forces of Mozambique and Madagascar in a what if scenario where the Comoros and Mayotte islands are being threatened by the two Soviet-aligned countries.
The French (Blue Side) only have four flyable airfields. Don't even try to fly Blue Side long-range bombers from said small airfields; I am providing a rather realistic representation of the area, where the French are tasked with the defence and patrol of the skies above the Comoros and Mayotte islands.
Having SF2NA is a must, as I have enabled naval ops. If your mod's folder contains French ships and carriers, you'll see fleets being generated during single missions.
Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenario.
>Credits (in no particular order):

-luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting!
-MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
-Stary, for the old .TOD mod which adds trees on this terrain's tileset.
-Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!

Iraq, Western Asia (2003-2018) Terrain
August 13th, 2017 (1st Release)
by Menrva
>For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the IR2003 terrain released long time ago by Wrench.
The entire map has been retargetized and retiled using a whole new tileset, combining tiles from JSF_Aggie, Stary, Centurion-1 and my bad transition tiles. All major water bodies, lakes and some minor rivers have been hand-tiled. The Caspian Sea coast had to be hand-tiled as well. Numerous target areas have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from May 2, 2003 (the day following the end of major combat operations of Operation Iraqi Freedom) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for fictional clashes between US-backed Iraq and Iran. It's the perfect playground for the fictive Operation Darius scenario created by the CombatACE community. Iran is Enemy, Iraq is Friendly, other countries are Friendly as well.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, certain Iraqi airbases will be abandoned by 2004 or by other dates (some airports were converted to simple U.S. Army FOBs), etc. Some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes.
All main targets are in their Real World locations (I tried to be as accurate as possible, to such a level that even surpasses ThirdWire's stock terrains). Shiraz Int'l Airport and Prince Sultan Airbase are beyond the Wall. However, if you have SF2NA, long range AI flights can be generated from such airbases.
Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain most of them from Wrench's original Iran-Iraq terrains, or from other mod packages.
>Credits (in no particular order):
-Wrench, who reworked the original terrain and provided the CombatACE community with plenty of mods and scenarios to play with. He gave me invaluable advise, the tools I needed and introduced me to the beautiful, exhausting world of terrain modding/making. Thank you, sir!
-swambast, who offered to build two high quality 3D models (Mosul Dam and Mosul Grand Mosque), featured for the first time in this terrain, it's an honor! He also provided major help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs. If the terrain is stable (no CTDs), it's his merit!
-Nyghtfall, for creating 3d models of the Kuwait Water Towers and Kuwait Freedom Towers.
-tiopilotos, for providing reworked .tga tiles with new alpha channels. Much appreciated!
-Spudknocker, who helped me complete the 1980-2003 beta version of the terrain, providing additional target areas.
-gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too.
-MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
-mue, for the improved shaders he made, which I have included and reworked for the terrain, and for the tools he made for SF2 modding.
-luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting!
-Crusader, who provided me with the info I needed about ODS and other stuff related to targets.
-JSF_Aggie, for his high quality DS tileset, which I have expanded with my horrible transition tiles.
-7eleven, who directed me to a website filled with Desert Storm related info.
-Centurion-1, since I used some tiles from his Desert 4 Mountain Regions+ Addon. I tried to contact you for permission, but it seems RL got in your way. Your WIP mod about the Iran/Iraq war gave me the motivation to complete this terrain. The least I can say is thank you. Best of luck, mate!
-Stary, because his tilesets are pure art. I borrowed a few TODs and tiles from his excellent IsraelME tileset.
-Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!
-Stratos, who supported me support during the terrain's development.
I am totally sure I missed someone, especially because the terrain was born from Wrench's original ones. So I also included Wrench's original readme files from his IR and IR2003 terrains to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
Any changes to the terrain package's files and/or any copy-and-paste attempts of their contents are NOT authorized if you plan to release them in other mods. But permission might be granted to those who request it to me at CombatACE.

Alaska, Bering Strait (1955-2018)
By Menrva
Alaska, Bering Strait (1955-2018) Terrain
April 13th, 2017 (1st Release)
by Menrva
>For Strike Fighters 2: Europe, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the DBS terrain made by Major Lee and further tweaked by Wrench.
Wrench kindly allowed me to improve upon his work; the entire map has been retargetized and retiled using a whole new tileset, combining tiles from Brain32 and Stary. Some water bodies, lakes and rivers have been hand-tiled. Most of the terrain has been hand-tiled to a great extent. Numerous target areas have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from June 22, 1955 (the date of the first known Cold War incident in the Bering Straits between the U.S. and the Soviets) to December 31, 2018.
I didn't bother to add all of the possible RL airports. However, when compared to the original DBS terrain, this one has a lot more to offer, especially on the Blue Side. The Soviets (Red Side) only have two flyable airfields. Don't even try to fly Red Side long-range bombers from said small airfields. Reason for this is that the original DBS terrain was rather fictional and included airbases which in reality didn't and don't exist. I made major researches and what I am providing here is a realistic representation of the area, given the terrain engine limitations. Anyway, I added some Off Map Airbases for both Blue Side and Red Side; if you have SF2NA, you can benefit from this addition, as long range AI flights can be generated from such airbases.
The area in reality is pretty barren, so don't expect a terrain with much targets. Still, you can enjoy CAS missions at St. Lawrence Island and Lopp Lagoon being invaded by Soviet forces, and the usual dogfights over the Bering Straits.
Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain them from Wrench's original DBS terrain release. Only very few of them should be needed anyway.
>Credits (in no particular order):
-Major Lee, who came up with the idea of recreating such an interesting scenario in the Strike Fighters world.
-Wrench, who kindly allowed me to improve upon his work by giving me a blank cheque and trusting my capabilities. Thank you, sir!
-luk1978, for the snowy runway textures he made for his Korean terrain repaint (unofficially released) and the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting!
-MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
-Brain32, for the original hi-res DBS tileset he made and which I have expanded with my bad transition tiles.
-Stary, because his tilesets are pure art. I borrowed a TOD and few tiles from his excellent Kamchatka tileset repaint.
Because the original terrain was born from Major Lee and was later tweaked a number of times by Wrench, I included the ReadMe files from the original packages, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.
>Disclaimer:
This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
Any changes to the terrain package's files and/or any copy-and-paste attempts of their contents are NOT authorized if you plan to release them in other mods. But permission might be granted to those who request it to me at CombatACE.

Iraq, Western Asia (1980-2003)
By Menrva
Iraq, Western Asia (1980-2003) Terrain
February 13th, 2017 (1st Release)
by Menrva
>For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the DS/IR terrain released long time ago by Wrench.
The terrain spans from September 22, 1980 (the beginning of the Iran/Iraq War) to May 1, 2003 (the end of major combat operations of Operation Iraqi Freedom); it is designed for the Iran/Iraq War, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Desert Fox and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Iraq is Enemy, Iran is Friendly, other countries are Friendly as well. Due to limitations in the terrain engine, and not wanting to make three different terrains, I opted to set Iran as Friendly together with other countries such as Saudi Arabia. While you might see US planes spawn in Iran during Single Missions even if the 1979 Iranian Revolution already happened, it's up to the users to play with missions in the editor to fix any historical oddities.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, after the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq, Kuwaiti airfields are set as Neutral, enemy targets appear inside Kuwait, etc. Some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes. Various Operation Desert Storm expeditionary bases and FOBs have been added, and will appear only during Operation Desert Storm dates.

Sikorsky AH-60L Arpia IV
By angelp
Sikorsky AH-60L Arpia IV
The UH-60L Arpía IV , also called simply Arpía , is a gunship helicopter developed by the Colombian Air Force , with Israeli advice from the UH-60L Black Hawk . As a result of the need for the Colombian Air Force to have a gunship helicopter as a means of deterrence against external enemies, the Arpía is essentially a UH-60L to which more equipment and weapons have been added both internally and externally.Currently, the Colombian Air Force has 12 aircraft.
The Helicopter can fire Spike NLOS an Spike LR ATGM missiles, both in the inventory of the FAC, GAU-19 12.7 mm gatling guns, 70mm rocket pods.

F-16 Block 15 FAV
By angelp
General Dynamics F-16A/B Block 15 OCU Venezuelan Air Force
This model represents the F-16 A/B in service with the Venezuelan Air Force since 1983 to present date
Venezuela was the first Latin-American country who got permission from the US to buy F-16s. They stayed the sole operator in Southern America untill Chile received their new F-16s in the course of 2005.
Peace Delta
In May 1982, the government of Venezuela signed an agreement to buy 18 block 15 F-16A's and six Block 15 F-16B's to replace the fleet of Mirage III interceptors and Mirage 5 ground-attack aircraft serving with the Fuerza Aérea Venezolana. This purchase was under the Peace Delta Foreign Military Sales program. The original intent was for an order of up to 72 aircraft, but budget restraints lowered that number to 24.
However, the Venzuelan order was not approved immediately because the US government wanted to sell Venezuela the F-16/79 (a slightly degraded F-16 version developed for export orders) instead. In 1983, the US government abandoned its hopes of selling the F-16/79, and finally approved the sale of the F100-powered F-16s to Venezuela
The FAV accepted its first aircraft in September 1983. FAV F-16s wear an attractive green/brown color scheme, with the insignia of the Aviacion de Combate (Combat Aviation) on the tail and roundels on the wings. A four-digit serial is painted on the fuselage just below the tail fin.
Of the original 24 aircraft that Venezuela bought, three have crashed: the first two, due to engine failure, and the second one, an F-16B, crashed during a maneuver on an air show at Base Aerea El Libertador, where Grupo 16 is based. In this accident, the first and second commander of the squadron where killed. The Venezuelan Air Force was looking for US government approval to replace these two aircraft and was planning to overhaul and update the remaining 22 airframes. At the end of October 1997, the US government approved the sale of the two F-16s, as well as an upgrade packet including the F-100-PW-220E. However, the purchase of the two attrition airframes has been halted until further notice.

HQ-9 Self Propelled Air Defence System
By angelp
HQ-9 Self Propelled Air Defence System
The FD-2000/HQ-9 was developed to provide a long range SAM capability, distinct from the medium range capabilities of the HQ-12/KS-1 series. The FT-2000 is a derivative which is fitted with an anti-radiation seeker and intended for engagements against AEW&C/AWACS and stand-off jamming aircraft.
The HQ-9 is supported by the HT-233 phased array engagement radar, like the H-200 modelled on the MPQ-53 and 30N6E designs, carried on a Taian TAS5501 series 10 x 10 high mobility vehicle, common to the HQ-9 TEL and similar in design to the S-400's BAZ-6900 series vehicle. Chinese sources claim C-band operation with 300 MHz receiver/antenna bandwidth, detection and tracking range of 150/100 km, and monopulse angle tracking to resist jamming. The design bears considerable similarity to the 30N6E series, especially in the antenna design.
Recently disclosed imagery shows the use of the self-propelled Type 305A, Type 305B and Type 120 radars as the battery acquisition radar component. The designation FD-2000 is for export configurations of the HQ-9.

Ludun 2000 (LD-2000) SPAAGM
By angelp
Ludun 2000 (LD-2000) SPAAGM
The Ludun-2000 is a Chinese copy of the Thales Nederland Goalkeeper 30 mm close-in weapons system (CIWS) mounted on the rear a 8 x 8 single cab flat bed truck and generator and system container behind the cabin.
The Type 730B gun is a copy of the General Electric GAU-8 30 mm x 173 mm seven-barrel Avenger gun used on the A-10. It fires at 4,200 rounds-per-minute with the APDS round having a muzzle velocity of 1,150m/sec and the HE cartridge of 920m/sec. There are two 500 round cylindrical magazines either side of the gun.
By design, the LD-2000 is essentially a land based derivative of the existing PLAN Type 730 CIWS, itself modelled on the closed loop tracking US Phalanx CIWS and EU Goalkeeper CIWS.
More recent imagery depicts the addition of a mast mounted search radar and six launch tubes for the TY-90 Surface-to-Air-Missile.

Buk M2E SAM system
By angelp
Buk M2E Surface to Air missile system
The Buk missile system is a family of self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air missile systems developed by the Soviet Union and its successor state, the Russian Federation, and designed to counter cruise missiles, smart bombs, fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles
The Buk system was created as a replacement of the 9k12 Kub in the air defenses forces of the Soviet Union and succesor states. A typical batallion consist of a command vehicle, a target acquisition radar vehicle and 6 TELAR vehicles, with three TELs.
The M2E variant uses the 6x6 MZKT-6922 wheeled vehicle, in order to produce a hight road mobility and low operating cost variant of the system.
The pack contains the 9K317E Buk M2E / MZKT-6922 TELAR and the 9S18M1E Snow Drift acquisition Radar mounted on a MZKT-6922 trnasport.
Finally, this pack is still a BETA, need some fine tunning inthe missile and system performance and other vehicles asociated with the system like the command post and the low level radar. Is released for the CA community to have a modern variant of the Buk missile to play with.
