    4. Mig-31BM Mini Update Pack

Out of 3 Mig 31 models available in CA (not sure why Mig-31A got removed...) Mig 31BM has the oldest model dated back to 2008, which has problem casting shadows and is over-polygoned.

This package contains models changed late 2010 with multiple level of details and correct shadow casting. So that you can finally ditch the SHD file.

      Original creator : jv44
      Skin: jv44

Please note the new model is not compatible with any previous skin. This update is released as-is.

You will need to download & install Mig31m/bm pack from Brain32, then update with this mini pack. Find Brain32's file here

    6. Better CCIP mod v1.1

Better CCIP mod for SF1/2 series.

This mod will prevent the CCIP and Gunsight dot from showing through any solid part of your cockpit. Leading to a much authentic bombing procedure.

In SF1, this is done without any harm.
In SF2, I have to remove 2 effect shaders which are used when your effect setting is at "Unlimited". So you lose some not-so-obvious effect.

      Installation
      ------------
For SF1, just extract the file to the 'objects' folder
For SF2, first extract the file in the 'objects' folder in your mod folder, then follow the procedure mentioned in the "Special note for SF2 users" to complete it.

    8. Socotra terrain

      Socotra 1.0
      *****************************************************
This terrain is written for SF2NA and SF2 Israel.
      +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
      I. Short description:
Socotra is a relativly big island on the shores of the Horn of Africa. It belongs to Yemen.
Socotra is an ideal position to control all shipping lines between the Mediterranian Sea and the Indian Ocean.
The power who controls Socotra can easily block the oil support from the Gulf to Western Europe.
Socotra is the cork in the bottle neck, like Djibouti, the Suez Canal or Gibraltar.
From mid 1960th to the fall of the Soviet Union, the soviets had an airbase on Socotra. In the 1980th on the base one regiment (squadron) of Su-24 bombers was active on Socotra.
This terrain is made for a scenario that the Americans must defeat the soviet forces on Socotra island. They had to operate from carrier positions in the Gulf of Aden. For all guys who love to fly Air Force planes i made a temporary american airfield in Somalia.
In the timeframe, where the soviets have no own carriers the single missions are focused on Socotra island. When the soviets field carriers the terrain is mostly focused on carrier vs carrier battles. So, if you prefer carrier vs ground battles you must choose missions before 1976. After that date you will have to fight Kiev carrier battle groups.

      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
      II. INSTALLATION:
To run this terrain you need SF2NorthAtlantic and SF2 Israel or SF2 Europe.

Unzip all files into your saved game folder ...ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2XXXX

      Thats it.

If you have SF2Israel installed you must do nothing more.
If you miss SF2I and have SF2Europe you must open file
      Sokotra.ini
with Notepad editor and look for the lines:
      CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat
      //CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat
      change the entry into:
      //CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat
      CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat
      save the file

    9. Improved Ground Gun Accuracy

The purpose of this mod is to improve the ground gun accuracy especially the AA Guns. It changes the game's default ballistic coefficient entries and make better speed retention for trajectory items. Thus it makes guns perform much better for anything flying straight line.
I have included 2 types of data in this mod. Please choose the one that works better for you.
Type A = Ballistic Coefficient changed to 1.1 times, better gun accuracy.
Type B = Ballistic Coefficient changed to 1.2 times, even higher gun accuracy but may influence AI plane in missions.

Also included the ballisticdata change program which when open in a folder that contains G1.dat, will allow you to change the entries.

For artillery, in addition to this mod, you can also change the accuracy in the gun data to 125 (yes, you can actually exceed 100)

      Installation:
      -----------------------------------------
Extract the G1.dat file under Type A or Type B folder under Objects folder in your mod directory

      Uninstallation
      ----------------------------------------
Delete G1.dat file under Objects folder in your mod directory

    10. [Fictional] Mikoyan-Gurevich Ye-2PFM "Faceplate-D"

      Mikoyan-Gurevich Ye-2PFM "Faceplate-D" for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
Released 'as is', this is Mikoyan-Gurevich Ye-2PFM 'Faceplate' - featuring a 3D model by KnightWolf45 (the artist formerly known as Cocas).
In the mid-1950's the MiG OKB was tasked in developing a new lightweight supersonic interceptor fighter for the Soviet Air Force and flight-tested two distinct designs in parallel - one with a thin, swept-wing and one with a tailed delta wing. The tailed delta would eventually win out to become the famous MiG-21 'Fishbed' but it's tantalising to consider 'what if' the swept-wing Ye-2A prototype had either won or was considered good enough to also be procured. Anyway, this is the swept-wing Ye-2 as it might have looked in service with the Soviet Air Force and I've also included Egyptian, Mongolian and Parani skins.
Giving the aircraft a service designation is tricky as it was given a provisional designation of MiG-23 but, of course, this conflicts with the swing-wing 'Flogger' that came later. We can't use an even number like MiG-20 or MiG-22 so I've just called it the Ye-2PFM and you can change this to suit your own thoughts on this matter.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Ye-2PFM folder into your Aircraft folder.
      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Ye-2PFM folder into your Decals folder.
      3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the Faceplate-GP-9 folder into your Weapons folder.
      That's it!

      CREDITS
As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
Huge thanks to KnightWolf45 for creating the Ye-2PFM 3D model a few years ago and to the CAF team for any inputs that followed.
Special thanks also to Coupi for sending me his templates that I've used to create the skins.
Thanks to Paladrian for the MiG-21 pit.
And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
      Regards

      *****************************************************
This mod is made for SF2.
      ----------------------------------------------------------
      I.
In the history it was common that tanks got tactical numbers and showed insignias for better friend and foe identification.

It contains insignias and tactical numbers for:
      Leopard A1 to A5
      Centurion Shot and Shot Kal
      M48 Magach 3
      M60 Magach 6
      M48A2

      T-34-85
      T-54
      T-55
      T-62A
      T-72A
For M48, M60, T-54 and T-55 i added workable anti-aircraft-machine guns. I also changed the armour of some tanks values to make them closer to real world

    17. Ethiopia, African Horn (1993-2028)

      Ethiopia, African Horn (1993-2028) Terrain
      December 13th, 2021 (1st Release)
      by Menrva

      >For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
I am proud to present a brand new terrain made from scratch! Initially proposed in private by tiopilotos, I later decided to create it in order to offer an accurate playground for different conflicts never recreated in Strike Fighters.
The terrain completely covers Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti, and a great portion of Somalia and Yemen. The tileset, based on JSF_Aggie's Desert repaint and Centurion-1's Desert 4 add-on, has been greatly expanded with necessary transition tiles. Expect long and very accurate river courses and all major lakes, the reddish deserts of the Horn of Africa and the green highlands of Ethiopia. Numerous target areas, such as civilian airports and airstrips, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from April 27, 1993 (the day Eritrea declared independence from Ethiopia) to December 31, 2028. This terrain is adapt for historical scenarios such as the Eritrean–Ethiopian War and for territorial disputes between Eritrea, Yemen and Djibouti. Somaliland is still considered as Somalia since Somaliland is not officially recognized, though you can spot the Somaliland flag over some of its cities.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields will appear at a given date, cities change their name at a specific year and so on, all according to Real World changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them. Having SF2NA is a must, as I have enabled naval ops; if your mod folder contains American, British and French aircraft carriers, sometimes you'll see fleets being generated in single missions.
Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain the most needed ones from Wrench's old Eritrea/Ethiopia terrain release.

      >Credits (in no particular order):
-Wrench, for working on Wingwiner's original Eritrea terrain, producing new target area layouts.
-swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs.
-gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too.
-mue, for the improved shaders he made, which I have included and reworked for the terrain, and for the tools he made for SF2 modding.
-luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting!
-JSF_Aggie, for his great Hi-Res Runway Textures v2.0 which I included, and for the hi-res desert tileset.
-Centurion-1, for expanding JSF_Aggie's tileset with more variety for the Desert4 terrain by Piecemeal.
-tiopilotos, for his continuous support in all my terrain modding efforts. Thank you very much!
-Stary, for old .TOD files which add trees and buildings on some tiles of this terrain.
-Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!
-krfrge, who has produced a tutorial for recreating SF2-like planning maps, which prompted me to work on templates and my own high quality planning maps. Thank you very much!
-comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included.
Although scratch-made, the terrain makes use of most objects and target layouts from Wrench's Eritrea terrain; because of this, I included the ReadMe file from that package, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

      >Disclaimer:
This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
Any changes to the terrain package's files and/or any copy-and-paste attempts of their contents are NOT authorized if you plan to release them in other mods. But permission might be granted to those who request it to me at CombatACE.
This terrain may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

    19. Nations & Medals Expansion

      Nations & Medals Expansion
      April 13th, 2019 (1st Release)
      by Menrva

      >For Strike Fighters 2 games
This mod is an extension of the stock ThirdWire _nations.ini file. It adds new nations and respective national decals, missing from the stock game, and it adds numerous medals (made by Capitaine Vengeur and Charles) for the stock countries. Here below a summary of the changes:
-Added a number of new service markings decals, for the added nations.
-Remade decals for the fictive countries of SF2 to match the default 256x256 resolution of other national decals.
-The Mercenary decal no longer shows Dhimari colours; now it's generic and adapt for various scenarios involving mercenaries.
-The Soviet Air Force becomes the Russian Air Force since 1992, with proper new decals showing up since 2010.
-The Soviet Naval Aviation (Russian Naval Aviation since 1992) has been added as a separate service.
-The (Free) Libyan Air Force has been added and becomes active in 2012, in place of the Libyan Arab Republic Air Force.
-Biafra and Katanga have been added and are active for a short number of years, as historically accurate.
-The Rwandan Air Force has been added, active since 1962, with later finflash showing up since 2002.
-The Niger Air Force has been added, active since 1961, with alternative insignia in use since 1980.
-The Djibouti Air Force has been added, active since 1977, as historically accurate.
-The missing post-Yugoslavia nations, namely Montenegro and Republika Srpska, have been added.
-The missing ex-Soviet Union nations of Belarus, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have been added.
-The Irish Air Corps has been added, with alternative decals in use since 1955.
-The People's Liberation Army Naval Air Force has been added as a separate service, active since 1953.
-The Somali Air Force is known as the Somali Aeronautical Corps before 1960, as historically correct.
-The Burkina Faso Air Force is no longer active since 1964, now it's active since 1985; it shows up as the Upper Volta Air Force before 1985.
-The Bahrain Amiri Air Force becomes the Royal Bahraini Air Force in 2002, as historically accurate.
-Created and added low-vis insignia and finflash textures for the Pakistan Air Force.
-Fixed a stock bug in SF2 with the Sultan of Oman's Air Force not being selectable since 1959, as it should be.
-Fixed a stock bug in SF2 with the Republic of China (Taiwan) Air Force not using the old roundel as it should be before 1992.
-Activated unused low-vis finflash included in stock SF2 for the Canadian Armed Forces.
-Other very small changes here and there to other stock nations.
-Added new medals for the following nations and respective services: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, East Germany, West Germany, France, Finland, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Korea, South Korea, North Vietnam, South Vietnam, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Soviet Union, Spain, Sweden, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States.
Modders and users are advised to tweak their _userlist.ini files and _data.ini files for aircraft and ships, to make use of the new naval aviation services added by this mod.

      >Credits (in no particular order):
-Capitaine Vengeur, for his Modern Russian Federation Medals and Modern Ukrainian Medals packs.
-Charles, for his Medals Pack v2.0 addon for SF1, which I have improved and updated to SF2 standards.
-mue, for sharing info about the functionality of the alias.lst file.
-paulopanz, for creating decals for Rwanda and Niger, which I have further tweaked.
-eburger68, for few decals I borrowed from his huge campaign mods.
I included the original readme files from the mentioned mods, where available, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

    20. Hawaii, Central Pacific (1959-2028)

      Hawaii, Central Pacific (1959-2028) Terrain
      December 13th, 2020 (1st Release)
      by Menrva

      >For Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the Hawaii terrain. Unlike the original one released by Wrench, which is not in full Real World scale, this new terrain was made and tiled from scratch, and it features all the main Hawaiian islands in full scale, with more cities and pretty accurate elevation details.
A better looking and more complete tileset has been added. Numerous target areas, such as small civilian airports, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from August 21, 1959 (when Hawaii officially became the 50th American State) to December 31, 2028; it is designed for fictional clashes between Red forces (namely Russia and China) and all of the American services (USAF, USN and USMC). The island of Kauai is added to Red Side for better gameplay; imagine it as the first step of a hostile invasion of Hawaii. All mission types are available, including CAS and Armed Recon.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, naval fleets will spawn in the Pacific Ocean. Also, Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations.
Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain the most needed from Wrench's original Hawaii terrain release.

      >Credits (in no particular order):
-Wrench, for his permission to use his target areas from the original, smaller scale Hawaii terrain.
-swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs, and for allowing me to include his exclusive Pearl Harbor Memorial 3d model (which you cannot redistribute).
-JSF_Aggie, for his great Hi-Res Runway Textures v2.0 which I included.
-Stary, for the hi-res Okinawa tileset he made, which I have reworked and expanded.
Because this terrain re-uses some of the original target area layouts by Wrench from his previously released Hawaii terrain, I included the ReadMe files from his original package, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

    21. Ace Combat Nations

      Ace Combat Nations
      December 13th, 2020 (1st Release)
      by Menrva

      >For Strike Fighters 2 games
This mod is a fork of my nations expansion mod of the stock ThirdWire _nations.ini file. It includes only the nations and respective aviation services of the Ace Combat universe, AKA Strangereal. All roundels are based on official sources and references from all Ace Combat games. Here below a summary of the included services:
-Generic Mercenary faction, using the logo of Ace Combat's developer, Project ACES, as insignia.
-Osean Air Defense Force and Osean Maritime Defense Force (as seen in Ace Combat 5, Ace Combat Zero and Ace Combat 7).
-Yuktobanian Air Force and Yuktobanian Navy (as seen in Ace Combat 5).
-Erusean Air Force and Erusean Navy (as seen in Ace Combat 04 and Ace Combat 7).
-Free Erusea Air Force (available since 2006, as seen in Ace Combat 04, Ace Combat 5 and Ace Combat 7).
-Independent State Allied Forces Air Force and Independent State Allied Forces Navy (available since 2003 until 2006, as seen in Ace Combat 04 and Ace Combat 5).
-International Union Peacekeeping Force (available since 2007, as seen in Ace Combat 7).
-Belkan Air Force and Belkan Naval Aviation (as seen in Ace Combat 5 and Ace Combat Zero).
-Ustio Air Force (available since 1989, as seen in Ace Combat Zero).
-Sapin Air Force (as seen in Ace Combat Zero).
-Republic of Emmeria Air Force and Republic of Emmeria Navy (as seen in Ace Combat 6).
-Estovakian Air Force and Estovakian Naval Aviation (as seen in Ace Combat 6).
-Aurelian Air Force and Aurelian Naval Aviation (as seen in Ace Combat X).
-Leasath Air Force and Leasath Naval Aviation (as seen in Ace Combat X).
-USEA Unified Air Force and USEA Unified Navy (available since 1996 until 2002, as seen in the remake of Ace Combat 2, that is Ace Combat 3D).
-Voslage Air Force (as seen in Ace Combat 7).
-Nordennavic Royal Air Force (from Ace Combat: Northern Wings).
Other aviation services are known to exist in Strangereal, such as the Rectan Air Force, FATO Air Force and Valka Royal Air Force. However, there are no infos concerning such countries with no established flag and culture at the moment. Those are not included in the mod for the time being.
This mod removes the Real World aviation services included in Strike Fighters 2, as such it is not compatible with any mod out of the box. Modders and users are advised to tweak _userlist.ini files and _data.ini files for aircraft and ground objects, to make use of the new services added by this mod.

      >Credits (in no particular order):
-nuni, for his suggestions and other Ace Combat themed mods.
-Astore, for his support and for being one of the few Italian Ace Combat fans like me.
-RythusOmega, for providing all Ace Combat 7 emblems, reworked for use in this mod.
-SuperOstrich, for providing hi-res remakes of the roundel of Nordennavic.
-mue, for sharing info about the functionality of the alias.lst file.

      >Disclaimer:
This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
This mod may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

    22. Timor, North Oceania (1950-2018)

      Timor, North Oceania (1950-2018) Terrain
      August 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
      by Menrva

      >For Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the Modern Darwin terrain made by Wrench.
A better and more complete tileset has been added, improving the looks of Northern Australia with the introduction of desert and barren valleys. Various rivers and lakes have been hand-tiled and mimic Real World courses. Now the island of Timor has a lot of bases to take-off from. Numerous target areas, such as emergency airstrips and civilian airports, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from August 17, 1950 (when President Sukarno proclaimed a single unitary Republic of Indonesia) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for fictional clashes between ANZUS/SEATO forces (namely Australia and New Zealand) and a random pool of Red Side countries (namely Indonesia and China).
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, naval fleets might spawn in the Timor Sea. Also, Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations.
Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain the most needed from Wrench's original Modern Darwin terrain release.

      >Credits (in no particular order):
-Wrench, for he had the idea of recreating such a scenario in the Strike Fighters world.
-MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
-Stary, for the hi-res PTO tileset he made, which I have reworked and expanded.
-Brain32, for the gorgeous VietnamSEA tileset repaint he made, from which I borrowed a few tiles.
-Centurion-1, Spudknocker and tiopilotos, for the impressive tileset they made for the Angola terrain, from which I borrowed some tiles.
Because the original terrain was made and tweaked numerous times by Wrench, I included the ReadMe files from his original packages, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

    23. Ecuador, Northwest South America (1981-1998)

Ecuador, Northwest South America (1981-1998) Terrain
      August 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
      by Menrva, tiopilotos and Stratos

      >For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
I am proud to present a new scratch-made terrain, the result of a joint effort of modders! Initially conceived by Centurion-1, the terrain was later salvaged by Stratos, who offered to help in its development together with tiopilotos. Stratos helped by hand-tiling most if not all the incredibly long rivers in the Amazon rainforest. The terrain later received an impressive tileset produced by tiopilotos! You guys have my deepest gratitude!
The terrain completely covers Ecuador, a great portion of Peru, and even touches Colombia and Brasil. However, only Peru and Ecuador have been targetized at this stage.
The terrain spans from January 28, 1981 (the beginning of the Paquisha Incident) to October 26, 1998 (when a resolution of the Ecuadorian-Peruvian territorial dispute was agreed upon through the Brasilia Presidential Act); it is designed for the Paquisha War of 1981 and the Cenepa War of 1995. Most air-to-ground missions (armed recon, close air support, etc.) take place at the border between Peru and Ecuador, to provide an even more realistic scenario. As in reality, there are few SAM sites placed at their precise Real World locations.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some border outposts will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them, if you have SF2NA.
Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenarios.

-Centurion-1, for his interest in recreating such scenario in the Strike Fighters world. I heard RL got in your way, so... best of luck, mate!
-tiopilotos, for the massive tileset he produced, and for his continuous support in all my terrain modding efforts. Thank you very much!
-Stratos, for he brought to attention Centurion-1's unfinished terrain and offered to help realize it.
-MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
-Stary, for the various hi-res tilesets and TODs he made, which have been re-used in this tileset.
Although scratch-made, the terrain makes use of most objects and target layouts from Wrench's Panama terrain; because of this, I included the ReadMe file from that package, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

    24. Texas, American South Central (1968-2018)

Texas, American South Central (1968-2018) Terrain
      August 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
      by Menrva

      >For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a new, scratch-made terrain inspired by the original, smaller ASW terrain made by krfrge and reworked by Wrench.
The terrain covers to a good extent the American State of Texas, as well as some Mexican States. Major rivers and a number of lakes have been hand-tiled and mimic Real World courses. Numerous target areas, such as civilian airports and onshore and offshore oil fields, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from October 3, 1968 to December 31, 2018; it is designed for a fictional scenario where Mexico is invaded by an alliance of Central American countries (namely Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala) supported by the Russians; the remnant of the Mexican military flees to the U.S. and fights alongside North American forces. However, users are encouraged to recreate whatever scenario they like, even outside the given time frame.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields and Mexican oil platforms will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, American naval fleets can spawn in the Gulf of Mexico. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations.
Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenarios.

    25. Sweden, Baltic Rim (2004-2018)

      Sweden, Baltic Rim (2004-2018) Terrain
      March 13th, 2018 (1st Release)
      by Menrva

      >For Strike Fighters 2: Europe, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This is a complete remake of the Sweden terrain made by gillg, but set after the Cold War era.
What began as a simple tiling bugfix, for JonathanRL's The Scandinavian Front mod, turned out to be a huge overhaul upon noticing a number of inaccuracies. The terrain has been retargetized and hand-tiled to a good extent; major changes have been done to the Baltic states, which were pretty inaccurate in terms of target locations. Some rivers have been added and/or retiled to mimic Real World courses. Numerous target areas, including airports and highway strips, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range.
This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look.
The terrain spans from March 30, 2004 (the beginning of NATO's Baltic Air Policing) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for The Scandinavian Front's scenarios by JonathanRL, taking place after the Cold War era.
This terrain is a standalone version of the one which will be included in the last iteration of the TSF mod package by JonathanRL. The terrain that will be included in the TSF mod package will likely differ slightly from this one, so users are advised to keep that in mind. Also, this terrain uses only a single tileset. The TSF's version will use different tilesets according to the season, as originally designed by our fellow modder, Stary.
Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them, if you have SF2NA. Most of the main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations. Due to the complexity of the area, some inaccuracies are to be expected, but I did my best!
Ground Objects are not included. Download JonathanRL's The Scandinavian Front mod package to have all that you need for this scenario.

-gillg, who created this terrain and whose work I have admired during my rework. I can only imagine how much time he spent on tiling roads and rivers from scratch!
-JonathanRL, for his exceptional TSF2 mod package, which prompted me to do something to help improve it.
-Wrench, as he is always glad to help us fellow terrain modders. Thank you, sir!

-gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too.

-MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways.
-Stary, for the wonderful tileset he made exclusively for the original Sweden terrain included in the TSF mod package.
-Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine!
-tiopilotos and Stratos, who always support me during my terrain remakes. Thank you, guys!

-comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included.
Because this terrain is a rework of gillg's fantastic creation, I included his ReadMe file from his original package, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.
