    1. Series 1 Kuwaiti A-4KU Skyhawk Updated for Strike Fighters 2

      Kuwaiti A-4KU for Strike Fighters 2

      This is the A-4KU flown by the Kuwait Air force during and leading up to the Gulf War I. It is from the Operation Desert Storm SF1 campaign set and I updated it for SF2 as well as changing some of the data.ini information to more accurately reflect the aircraft.

      NOTE: The original A-4KU uses Strikefighter 1 series LODS so you will have to have WoV to use this aircraft. (I ignorantly didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to include the series 1 LODS in the upload so that’s why I have now removed them)

      Included is an extensive RWR.LST file and RWR.TGA files, a ‘Free Kuwait’ skin and pre invasion skin.

      INSTILATION:

      1,Drop files in to appropriate folders, override when asked to.

      2,Extract the original lod files from WoV ObjectData.cat using the CAT extractor. Following lods: A-4F.LOD, A-4F_lod002.LOD, A-4F_lod003.LOD, A-4F_lod004.LOD, AV-8A_LOD4.LOD & A-4F_lod005.LOD once extracted should go to the A-4KU_Kuwait folder.

      NOTE: Has only been tested/used in a merged install of ALL SF2 titles

      Credit goes to JSF_Aggie for the Operation Desert Storm SF1 campaign the original A-4KU came from.

    2. Lockheed NF-104A for SF2

      Lockheed NF-104A for Strike Fighters 2

      In 1963, three ex-USAF F-104As (56-756, -760, and -762) were taken out of storage at Davis Monthan AFB and modified as NF-104A aerospace training aircraft. All of the military equipment was removed and the original F-104A vertical fin was replaced by the larger fin that was used on the F-104G. The wingspan was increased by four feet (to 25.94 feet) and a set of hydrogen peroxide control thrusters were mounted at the nose, tail, and wingtips. A 6000 pound thrust Rocketdyne LR121/AR-2-NA-1 auxiliary rocket engine was mounted on the tail above the jet exhaust pipe. This rocket engine could be throttled from 3000 to 6000 pounds of thrust, and the burn time was about 105 seconds.

      The first NF-104A was delivered on October 1, 1963, with the other two following a month later. They were operated by the Aerospace Research Pilot School at Edwards AFB, which was commanded at that time by Colonel Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager.

      On December 6, 1963, the first NF-104A set an unofficial world altitude record of 118,860 feet for aircraft taking off under their own power. The official record at that time was 113,829 feet, set by the Mikoyan/Gurevich Ye-66A, an experimental version of the MiG-21 Fishbed. Later, the same NF-104A flown by Major R. W. Smith reached an altitude of 120,800 feet.

      On December 10, 1963, the second NF-104A (56-762), with Chuck Yeager at the controls, went out of control at an altitude of 104,000 feet and fell in a flat spin to 11,000 feet. Yeager managed to eject successfully at that altitude, although he was badly burned on his face by the rocket motor of his ejector seat. The aircraft was destroyed in the ensuing crash. An investigation later showed that the cause of the crash was a spin that resulted from excessive angle of attack and lack of aircraft response. The excessive angle of attack was not caused by pilot input but by a gyroscopic condition set up by the J79 engine spooling after shut down for the rocket-powered zoom climb phase. So it wasn't Chuck's fault.

      In June of 1971, the third NF-104A, with Capt. Howard C. Thompson at the controls, suffered an inflight explosion of its rocket motor. Although Thompson was able to land safely, the aircraft's rocket motor and half its rudder were blown away. Since the program was about to end in any case, this aircraft was retired.

      The number one NF-104A is currently on display on top of a pylon in front of the USAF Test Pilot School.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      IMPORTANT!!!
      You need SF2E to have the stock F-104G and SFP1 for the cockpit files.
      or follow these precious instructins: http://combatace.com/topic/57393-flyable-f-104s-for-sf2
      Another thing... there are some minor differences between SFP1 and SF2E models and one of these is a bit different mapping on the nose. So it will be included an optional SFP1 f-104_2.bmp file.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Pilot Notes:

      -The rocket engine is set to use "Thrust vectoring" as a throttle control to permit separate control from the jet engine. The rocket will operate only with afterburning regime and with only 2 stages, half and full power. From idle to military it will not generate thrust and so will not affect fuel consumption.

      -This plane is equipped with hydrogen peroxide Reaction Control System like the real plane. To engage the system simply throttle the rocket a bit over idle.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Installation:

      Simply copy all the files in the respective directory of your game folder.

    7. F-4N Phantom II for SF2

      F-4N Phantom II for Strike Fighters 2 series.
      23 Oct 2010

      This is a continued update of the original F-4N Phantom II released by Column5 and Dave (ex-USAFMTL) way back in 2003. Thanks gents.

      Additional thanks goes to Wrench. He released an update pack for this jet, in Jan '09. That got the ball rolling for this latest version. Thank you Sundowner for your awesome skins and Spillone for the excellent J79 sounds.

      I went through the data, avionics and cockpit.ini files and upgraded the F-4B_67 to N standards in a similiar fashion as Project Bee Line (see below). Additionally, the loadout.ini was tweaked to properly match a USN configuration.

      In 1972, 228 F-4Bs were converted into F-4Ns to bring the B-model up to a similiar to the F-4J and increase their combat capabilty. This project was named "Bee Line". Work was conducted at Naval Air Station North Island. The aircraft received slatted stabs, a new ECM suite (AN/ALQ-126B) plus avionics systems upgrades. The N-model entered fleet use in 1973 and remained in service with the Navy and Marine Corps until 1985. A handful remained post-1985, with the Reserves and test units. Those were eventually converted into QF-4Ns drones.

      To install simply allow the extractor to place everything in the main SF2 folder. I've added the VF-111 pilots from Wrench, two of Sundowners skins (slightly edited for the N) and new J79 engine sound files from Spillone. Last time I checked, all had ok'd the use of their work for non-profit use. If I'm wrong, please contact me and I'll eliminate the files.

      The canopy open/close is linked to the "0" key.

      What you will need first:

      Strike Fighters 2/Vietnam/Europe/Israel patched to Jun 2010 standards. This is not for Generation 1 ThirdWire sims.

      Optional:
      JSF_Aggie's SF2 Series Range Terrain for the AT-38B single missions. http://combatace.com/files/file/11067-sf2-series-range/

      What is in this archive:

      1. This readme (duh!) and the Readme folder.

      2. Effects, Objects, Sounds, Flight folder.

      3. Alternate Hanger/Loading screens in the F-5B Vietnam Hanger Screens folder.

      4. AT-38B missions in the Missions folder.

      Instructions:

      1. Read and understand this entire readme FIRST!

      2. Copy the Effects, Objects, Missions, and Sounds folders to your SF2/V/E/I mod directory. Allow directory merging and overwrites (anything overwritten either belongs to me, is part of the SF2 Weapons Pack or is the exact same as the Mirage Factory F-5 effects and sounds).

      3. Optional step: Copy the 2 files located in the F-5B Vietnam Hanger Screens directory to your mods/Objects/Aircraft/F-5B directory and overwrite.

      4. Optional step: Copy the Flight folder to your SF2/V/E/I mod directory. Contains a NATIONS.INI file that changes Iran from Friendly to Enemy and adds the Range nation. If you have a modded NATIONS.INI already, you may want to insert the proper entry by hand. You will NOT need the Range NATIONS.INI.

      5. Optional step: Download and install the SF2 Series Range.

      6. That's it! You should see the aircraft in your selection screen.

      Aircraft Information:

      Consult the various readmes included here for specific variant information.

      Notes and Limitations:

      This uses the 'Open Cockpit' method to place the cockpit model 'inside' the external model. This also allows the ability to add flight controls to the cockpit, which originally didn't have them modeled for the F-5F. Downsides are the that during inclement weather, it will appear 'foggy' inside the cockpit.

      Capable of being flown from either seat through editing of the main aircraft ini file. Simply uncomment the lines that have the seat you want to fly in, and comment out the lines with the seats you don't want to fly in. The default is the front seat.

      The gunsight is new and part of the aircraft. You will not have a gunsight if you fly without a cockpit. Also, the gunsight has an ability not normally available to ThirdWire aircraft...use your thrust vectoring control to activate it (make sure your thrust vectoring control is in the neutral position before you start the mission).

      The FM is reasonably 'close' to the real thing...but defaults to being 'fun' vs being 'perfect numbers'. It gives a reasonable impression on how the aircraft actually flies...but don't expect to hit all the 'numbers' perfectly.

    12. F-84F ThirdWire SF2 Tweaks and Bits

      F-84F ThirdWire SF2 Tweaks and Bits 06-04-10

      Credits:
      F-86F Cockpit by Zurawski
      Early 1960's French Pilot by Corktip 14, based on Diego's USAF Korean War pilot.
      Martin Baker Mk3 Ejection Seat by ravenclaw_007
      F-84f Hangar Screen from the Mirage Factory F-84F Package
      F-84F Loadout tga by Paulopanz
      F-84F Data.INI tweaks and F-84F Loading Screens by NeverEnough

      The Thirdwire F-84F model is very nicely done for an AI only model, and can be easily finished into a real fine ride.
      The latest version included in the SF2 Expansion Pack did not have the flap deploy and retract settings in the Data.ini, so these have been
      added in this tweaked Data.ini. The taillight was located about six feet behind the aircraft, and the navigation lights on each side of the tail
      are modeled but have no entries in the stock Data.ini. The tailight location was corrected and the tail navigation lights are added in the included
      Data.ini. The front landing light has also been added, and SHIFT 0 will open and close the cockpit canopy.

      The early 1960's French pilot is a nice addition, and he looks great sitting in ravenclaw_007's beautiful new Martin Baker Mk3 ejection seat.
      The new loading screen is a French F-84F with Suez campaign stripes, which looks especially fitting when used with Paulopanz's Suez SuperPack skins!
      An alternate loading screen of a beautifully restored Italian F-84F is also included for a SF2E installation.
      Give this kite a test drive, and discover what a treat it is. Be sure to include Paulopanz's Suez skins, and you will be looking good.

      ---------------------------------------------

      Installation notes:

      Simply copy the contents of the included Objects folder into your Mods\StrikeFighters2 Israel, Mods\StrikeFighters2 Exp1, or Mods\StrikeFighters2 Europe folder.
      To use the Italian F-84F Loading Screen, change the line in the F-84F.INI as shown below:

      [AircraftData]
      AircraftFullName=F-84F Thunderstreak
      AircraftShortName=F-84F
      AircraftDataFile=F-84F_data.ini
      LoadoutFile=F-84F_loadout.ini
      UserList=F-84F_UserList.ini
      CockpitDataFile=F-84F_COCKPIT.ini
      HangarScreen=F-84f_HANGAR.bmp
      LoadoutImage=F-84F_LOADOUT.tga
      Loadingscreen=F84F_Loading.bmp <<<<<<<< Change this to F-84F_Loading.bmp

    14. Mirage Factory RF-4E/EJ Pack

      This is a pack of 2 additional aircraft for the SF2 series......The RF-4E as originally supplied to Greece with slatted wings and the RF-4EJ as used by the JASDF.
      Both are made from BPAo's original RF-4 model which he and myself were working on before his tragic death last year.
      There is no way that I could finish these models to Oli's standards but I've done the best that I can, thanks must go to Crab_02 for letting me use his intakes & other details & for all his help and advice.

    17. F-101 Voodoo Super Pack

      McDonnell F-101 Voodoo Megapack By Erikgen for SF2

      Feb 2010 Patch

      Credits:
      Column5 for the FM
      Spillone104 for the J57 sound
      NGHENGO, bobrock, Canadair, triplethr3at as test team
      Dave and Jimmybib for decals and skins and various support.

      Again a special thanks to Dave who strongly wanted this airplane to which initially I was not so interested. I hope I did forget no one.
      This version has tanks built in; with the tank skins in the right aircraft skin folder . 3D models and Skins are from mppd.
      This should also fix the shadow issues. Also fixes some weps position issues.

      To install just put into your SF2 saved games/thirdwire/StrikeFighters2 and let it overwrite folders as needed.

      The Med res textures are for people with low end machines.

      In the F-101A/C folders is a folder call 3 gun version and that is for anyone who wants to use the version that was used in Europe that had the a gun removed and replaced with TACAN equipment.

    18. Mirage Factory F-4K/M RAF/RN SF2 Series Pack 3

      Mirage Factory F-4K/M RN/RAF for the SF2 series.

      First and foremost lets just spend a moment remembering who made these things possible.........Olivier ANGUILLE (BPAo)....rip my friend.

      Ok this is pack 3 of 3, it comprises new aircraft models and skins but you still need pack 1 installed to get the decals,sounds etc, but it does use the stock F-4M cockpits so you will need SF2 Europe installed, I have the combo pack so they've only been tested on that...patched to Feb 2010.

      Installation instructions are in the readme, its there for your benifit not mine so be sure to read it.

      Many thanks.
