Fubar512 Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Just looking for opinions here, which effect do you prefer? #1 or, #2? Quote
Silverbolt Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I preffer the No1, but will be great if you can include both in pack ;) Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I would say both .. have to see it ingame for my self.. than I can decide.. but looks damn good tank you very much! Quote
WarlordATF Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I like #1, but its hard to say based on a screenshot. Both are great and much better than anything we currently have! Quote
Atreides Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 (edited) Going by the 15 yrs of my life spent/wasted in the M.East I'd have to go with 2, looks more natural like dunes that I've seen either flying over or driving on (weeee) Edited June 19, 2008 by Atreides Quote
Wrench Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 The darker shader looks better to me! Very cool! Wrench kevin stein Quote
Lexx_Luthor Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 #2 A funny thing happened in TE (as always). I *think* I found large sand dunes in GTOPO30 data using TerrainEditor to develop "small" 1500km Siberia terrain, I stumbled over large areas in Mongolia with sheets of 3D terrain logg rolls in otherwise vast flat terrain areas: Example below. This is real 3D elevation in the terrain HFD file, showing correct sunlight shading. The areas where I found these rolls I think pretty much corresponded to larger desert Mongolian regions according to GoogleEarth. However, in the 6 Million Meter Map, using double Height Field Resolution to save on map memory size (4x worth), I lost all except a hint of these rolling loggs. Quote
Alexander51 Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Same as Gocad. I tend to lean towards #2. Quote
+PureBlue Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 hard to decide from screenshots, but 2 seems it could look repetitive , #1 feels more variable. Quote
FalconC45 Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 2 but can't use it. Have vista and the shaders are off. Quote
pablo10692 Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 (edited) OMG. It was hard, but I choose the #2. The first it's too waved. Looks like somebody wrinkled (?) it too much... Edited June 20, 2008 by pablitoVPT Quote
eraser_tr Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 2 looks more natural, but the seams are more noticable. Quote
