Sneak Peek

A Note from Menrva

I started this project back in May of 2020. When I invited some of the most renowned modders to contribute to it, I would have never expected such an amazing support from many of them. After roughly 8 months of development, we have produced a high-quality total conversion for Strike Fighters 2, all for free. Driven by passion and teamwork, we managed to achieve new heights and set new standards; this modification is most likely the most complete ever anthology of the Gulf War in any flight sim to date. 2020 has been a difficult year for so many all over the world due to an unprecedented pandemic. It has been a very difficult year for me as well, unrelated to the pandemic. I am extremely proud of what I started, but without the support of the team I managed to form, I would have never accomplished this amazing modding project with success.

I want to dedicate this to my beloved girlfriend, Alessandra. With her love and support, I have come to realize my potential and value as a human being. Così adesso lo sai...

Let me be the first to congratulate Menrva and all those involved in this incredible achievement.  The attention to detail, countless enhancements and level of quality places this mod (in my opinion) as one of the greatest ever made for this series!  :drinks:

Honoured to have been involved in this, even if I did not have the time to contribute as much as I wanted. This is an amazing mod and a new benchmark for the SF community. Congrats to Menrva and all the team.

Thanks to everyone involved in this project! I have only dabbled in modding but I understand the commitment of time and effort required to produce a quality add-on. I am so looking forward to getting some stick time in on this baby.

What a rush! What an honor to be part of it. Menrva had the dream and we had the will, but none of this could have been possible without the "CombatAce" community. So THANK YOU - All who came before, are here today, and will be in the future. This is for you! Enjoy!

My personal Thanks to Menrva, yakarov79, guuruu, daddyairplanes, and Coupi - I learned a lot from you guys. Menrva, your ability to integrate the ENTIRE pack with all the mods and changes we threw at you, optimize them - while building and testing yourself - and STILL find time to direct and keep us on track is truly AMAZING!

I am confused over the subscription requirement for this download. Please clarify. Thanks.

And maybe put the subscription requirement in the "minimum requirements" section. :) I know you document it in the forum announcement but I can't find anything about it in the actual download section. (And I see 1 month in one place and 6 months in another....)

I am sure most folks won't have a problem with the subscription but it would be helpful to know about it up front.

Thanks again for all the work. Looking forward to giving it a try.

@DoctorQuest We agreed on a 1 month minimum. I was told the download requests 6 by mistake. I will notify the admins about it.

I have discovered a small issue which I have nit figured out how to fix. There appears to be a "fake pilot" on both the A-10 and OA-10 as you can see from the attached shots his feet protrude from centre of the aircraft's belly .I cannot see what is missing from the "pilot" folder which is causing this problem.Any ideas ?????

I have discovered a

this: (add to your aircraft data.ini //  to turn off 'feature')

//[PilotEject]
//SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT
//PilotModelName=A10US80
//CanopyNodeName=A_10_PILOT
//SeatID=2

or this:

SystemName[012]=//PilotEject

will solve the issue. At least temporary.

I can't figure out why the F-117 TV display does not seem to work for night missions. All I get is a blank screen. I do understand I have to the the LGB selected as my weapon. On day missions I get a display.

I do realize the SF2 has some avionics limitations but I thought this was a valid question. I will do some research on prior versions of the F-117 I have. I thought the TV/FLIR display worked differently on those versions?

      Speaking to Breaking Defense, Ali Al Hashim, a Kuwait-based defense analyst has said that the US Marine Corps (USMC) is interested in taking over kuwaiti F/A-18s when they are retired from service (the country is currently fielding 27 legacy F-18 Hornets, plus six F-18D trainers).

      Malaysia and Tunisia are said to be interested in acquiring those legacy Hornets, however, the USMC will have priority as approval is required from the US government before Kuwait can sell the jets to other nations.

      “Kuwait cannot sell the legacy Hornets to another country without the prior approval of the US Navy,” said Hashim. “There are reports that the US Marines command appears to be interested in acquiring the Kuwait fleet of Hornets, and negotiations were underway between the two sides.”

      According to Alert5, the USMC is planning to retire its F/A-18s in 2030 and has given its existing F/A-18 fleet some upgrades such as a new AN/APG-79(v)4 radar and ejection seats.

      The Kuwait Air Force received the first two of 28 Typhoon jet fighters being built by Leonardo were last December, while the 28 F/A-18E/F Super Hornet block 3 were reportedly delivered last September by Boeing to the US Navy. Kuwaiti pilots training on the Typhoons will start flying the fighters to Kuwait during this year and well into the next one.

      Hashim explained that transferring the Super Hornets to Kuwait will take longer than planned due to the delayed infrastructure work at Ahmed Al Jaber Air Base because of the pandemic.

      According to Abdullah Al Foudary, the former Kuwait Air Force commander, selecting the Super Hornet to replace the Hornets was a “natural and logical move.” Instead he said that the additional selection of the Typhoon came in line with a policy to “unify the platforms with other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC),” an alliance of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.

      "Saudi Arabia and Oman had procured the Eurofighter Typhoon and Qatar was considering it and recently proceeded with the purchase,” Al Foudary pointed out. “The idea here is that GCC air forces would be easily interoperable and will also be able to support one another with spare parts if they all purchased the same platforms.”

      Hi! I'm trying to start building addon campaigns for eburger68's amazing SF2V Air & Ground War Expansion mod. I'm trying to start by making a "red" version of the Easter Offensive campaign called "Red Fiery Summer", where the player is a VPAF pilot in an alternate Easter Offensive where the PAVN/NLF ground forces had air support. The missions would be more varied than the ones in eburger68's own VPAF addon, with strike, recon, and CAS missions in addition to CAP and Intercept.

      If anyone can help me get it set up and working, or at least teach me how to do it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
      Attached below are my files for the campaign as they currently exist
      Fer_RedFierySummer.INI
      Fer_RedFierySummer_DATA.INI
      Fer_RedFierySummerEnd.TXT
      Fer_RedFierySummerSTART.TXT
