View File SA-4 Ganef SAM system/ ZRK 2K11 "Krug" The SA-4 Ganef was a long-range mobile system first deployed in the mid-1960s; the missiles, carried in pairs on a tracked launcher, used drop-off solid-fuel boosters and a ramjet sustainer motor. Employing a combination of radar command guidance and active radar homing, and supported by an array of mobile radars for target acquisition, tracking, and guidance, they could engage targets over the horizon. (Because the SA-4 strongly resembled the earlier British Bloodhound, NATO assigned it the code name Ganef, meaning “Thief” in Hebrew.) Beginning in the late 1980s, the SA-4 was replaced by the SA-12 Gladiator, a more compact and capable system. INSTALLATION: Drop everything from archive to your OBJECT folder. I'm working on a new skin for the later and interesting Su-35S (by frtn) found in the SFP1 section. This mod works fine with SF2. Even if there are several little problems with the mapping. P.

I guess a very brief description of the differences would be that provided in Wikipedia for EQ-6 - new Sherloc digital RWR, new Cyrano IV-SP1 radar, and capable of carrying two Exocet missiles at once. 30 built Mirage F1EQ-5 is capable of carrying a single Exocet under the fuselage. Other sources indicate Cyrano IV-MR radar with terrain avoidance capability for the EQ-6. An interesting piece of information on the EQ-6, that I came across, is that back in 1989 those were equipped with rails to carry and launch Kh-29L soviet/russian laser guided A2G missiles. On a different note, I am happy to see new Mirage F1 variants with later cockpits and more recce, ECM, etc. pods included in the weapons list, so I hope we are close to the moment when it will be time for updated Mirage F1CT/CR versions.

The US State Department has approved the foreign military sale of the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) and Medium Range Air Defense System (MRADS) to Kuwait for three billion dollars. Kuwait has requested 63 AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM); 63 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II tactical missiles; 12 Multifunctional Information Distribution Systems – Low Volume Terminal (MIDS LVT) Block Upgrade 2; and 12 MIDS LVT Cryptographic Modules, among others. “The proposed sale will improve Kuwait’s capability to meet current and future threats by enhancing the ability to defend itself against regional malign actors and improve interoperability with systems operated by US forces and other Gulf countries,” the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said. The DCSA also expressed confidence that the new defensive equipment will allow the Middle Eastern nation to “protect its borders, energy infrastructure, and its residents.” I will be adding this to my do list of models.

A few days back, i had the chance to travel to Europe, this was a long delayed (for several reasons) trip i had and had also the opportunity to meet some of the CA old timer guys, must say pics speak a thousand words, so, i will spam with some: The first guy i met as i arrived to Amsterdam was my master @logan4 and we made a visit to the Lelystad Museum, my first time watching up close with a MiG-21 Love at first sight! Many More planes seen that day Next day i met another long time friend @Muesli and went to met some places: And the next day, we had a very nice day, we mat @Derk and he kindly made a guided day on the National Militair Museum, 4 CA team members together! Later in the week we met @76.IAP-Blackbird and headed for Germany, no planes this time, but good plans (and stairs) and good times! After some (not much) days, i moved over to Cracow to met the final guy, our very @Stary and we were able to have some good time (eating pierogis) that night Next day, i HAD TO pay a visit to Auschwitz and Birkenau Museums And for the last day, we met again with Stary to go to the Lotnictwa Museum in Cracow, where i was a kid in a candy shop with so many MiGs, Sukhois and others around! All in all, it has been a hell of a trip, and, once again, i would like to thank you guys for making it to happen! And the saddest part of the trip... Thanks CA for the friendship!!!

First i will convert the coast tiles from jpg to tga and then i will test how much performance is lost. A jpg file is between 190 and 350 kb, a tga file 4096 kb. And afterwards i will decide how many Flak and SAM i can place, without making the game to a slideshow. But you are right, a lot of Flak would be nice.

I continue to experiment with SF2 VR and with the framerate locked at 80 fps, it is an amazing experience. SF2 is still the only semi-modern sim (as opposed to Jane's Fighters Anthology and Jane's USAF, which are much older and inferior to SF2 in most respects) where I can fly the F-4 in combat against excellent AI MiG opponents in historical environments like Vietnam and Israel. The FSX/P3d F-4s available from Milviz (F-4E/J/S) and Simworks Studios (F-4B/N) are a joy to fly, but VR runs like crap in P3d and the environment doesn't have AI opponents that you can dogfight. If you like clubbing baby seals, shooting down Cessnas and airliners works great in FSX/P3d with TacPack, but it isn't a true combat flight sim experience. SF2's terrains are obsolete compared to DCS World, even with the texture upgrades, but they are still the only way to fly decent combat missions over Vietnam and Israel in a historical context. The mix of SF2 and VR is a very good experience. I recommend it to anyone who owns both the SF2 series and has VR.
