what about using lighthouses?? At the very least, if not tall enough, they are illuminated oh, I went through ALL my archived files; CDs, ZipDiscs, 3.5 floppies, I couldn't find Major Lee's Air Race Terrain. Sorry!

You can select and hide nodes in LODViewer as well before taking screenshots, it can be a useful function in this case. Keep up the great work, this is an awesome project! We could make some time trial missions on the smaller NL terrains I released a while ago, if only we had proper towers acting as route checkpoints.

Possible Method for Stereoscopic 3D in VR with Headtracking in Strike Fighters 2 - Geo11 The attached PDF outlines the steps using freeware programs, wrappers and apps I've used to get stereoscopic 3D in VR working in Strike Fighters 2 and it's associated mods. Over the years I've tried many methods to get SF2 working on either a 3D monitor or in VR using programs such as vorpX or Tridef, as well as many others, but have never been happy with the results; however, using a relatively new technique geo11, I'm finally able to play in VR with proper 3D. This very clever piece of software, is and I quote "a replacement for 3D Vision for DX11" and allows you to generate a very nice 3D image in VR using the latest nvidia drivers. At this point I'm not sure if this will work for anyone else who is not using the same tech i.e. HP Reverb G2 VR Headset and running an Nvidia RTX 2080TI GPU but please let me know if you have any success with similar hardware or something very different. Also a very similar method works for the Strike Fighters 1 series of games and if anyone is interested I'll post the additional steps here. For anybody else trying this - Good luck norrin

It's definitely the Prowler FM that needs some tweaking from the Superpack. Because I can trap other birds (the flaps gets me all the time, I'm spoiled by the Super Hornet/Growler with auto flaps), but managed to get the A-6E down fine.

The Vultee P-66 Vanguard was a United States Army Air Forces fighter aircraft. It was initially ordered by Sweden, but by the time the aircraft were ready for delivery in 1941, the United States would not allow them to be exported, designating them as P-66s and retaining them for defensive and training purposes. Eventually, a large number were sent to China where they were pressed into service as combat aircraft with mixed results. 3D Model (Veltro2k) Textures and FM (Charles,Capun) Cockpit (Kesselbrut) unzip ad folders to their appropiate places...have fun THIS MODEL IS ONLY TO BE DISTRIBUTED AS FREEWARE AND IN NO OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE SHALL IT BE USED, EVEN IN PART OF ANYTHING THAT IS PAYWARE. VL Myrsky II 'Storm' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 The VL Myrsky II ('Storm') was a Finnish World War II fighter designed by the State Aircraft Factory (Valtion Lentokonetehdas) for the Finnish Air Force. Entering service during August 1944 the Myrsky was reasonably fast and manoeuvrable enough to dogfight contemporary Soviet aircraftand and it's wide undercarriage gave it decent ground-handling properties. Myrsky usage ended in May 1947 and the last Myrsky flight was made in February 1948. Veltro2K very kindly made this for me back in 2014 and it's another one of the lesser known aircraft that he has brought to Strike Fighters. For this revision we have a much better flight model and working flaps. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Myrsky folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Myrsky folder into your Decals folder. 3. From the SOUNDS folder drag and drop the TwinWasp file into your Sounds folder. That's it! Although you will need to source a suitable 'prop pilot' for your Myrsky. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to Veltro2K for making the 3D model and allowing me to skin it. Thanks also to Charles for some valuable tips now incorporated on Version 2 and 3. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 3 - 15/07/2020 Version 2 - 12/04/2015 Version 1 - 04/10/2014

SF2 WW2 B-24D Liberator, MTO Pak by Veltro2K 4/28/2014 (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) **Having a merged install is reccomended, as the destroyed model references the stock 3W An-12** This pack contains a NEW aircrft, by Veltro2k; the B-24D Liberator as seen in the MTO. This is the 2nd in a series of "theatre specific" versions for use in the various theatres (obviously!) of WW2. REMINDER: this is for MTO usage ONLY!!! The unit(s) represented herein are: 514th BS, 376th BG, as based in Egypt & Libya. The aircraft is finished in 'desert pink' and neutral grey. The skins are in jpg format. All markings are decals (excepting the wing national markings). This will make it easier for other texture artists to create other units. The serials are 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular unit, but ARE for the model variant depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. There ARE nose arts, the 1st 12 are from the original Pasko release, the others are from my "stock" of nose art decals. These should NOT be considered historical in any way, shape or form. They're just nice to look at. Weapons and guns are NOT included; you should have them already. All the 1stGen Hangar and Loading screens were either rebuilt to SF2-spec, or created new for this package. They are in jpg format. Damage textures are new, in DDS format. When in game you'll see: B-24D Liberator (v2k) This will differentiate this Lib from any others you may have (ie: Pasko's). As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for other important notations, in particular for in-game usage. PLEASE READ THE README FILE INCLUDED !!!!! The Northrop P-61 Black Widow, named for the venomous spider, was the first operational U.S. military aircraft designed specifically for night interception of opposing aircraft, and was the first aircraft specifically designed to use radar. The P-61 had a crew of three: pilot, gunner, and radar operator. Like the original 1stGen Pak, this mod contains 2 complete aircraft: P-61A with 2 skins, Olive Drab/Neutral Gray and Overall Black The Black will become active using the "StartDefaultDate" switch. P-61B Overall Black The P-61A does NOT have the top turret (as is historicaly correct). The P-61B DOES, and it will engage defensively (well, sorta offensively too) any E/A with range. As a bonus, an 'experimental' version of the P-61A-1, WITH turret (but locked forward), and some engine modifications is included for those End Users with the skills and talents to try and dial in the WEP statements. The WEP is 'best guess', and historically was used on all Black Widow models (yes, the time IS correct! Right from the Pilot's Manual and other technical resources. But don't use it for longer than 5 minutes at a time!) Credits: Veltro2k for the aircraft Stary for his Uber-fantastic Black Widow cockpit! SF2 WW2 ETO B-26B/G Marauder Pak -- Something for the WW2 ETO players -- = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = **Note: Having SF2I Expansion Pak 1 is HIGHLY reccomended, as the destroyed model referenced reach over to the stock destroyed C-47A. If you do =NOT= have Exp1, you will NOT have the burning wreck on the ground. You will have to locate some other destroyed model for use. Also, due to modifications to various inis, this mod will probably -NOT- work in 06 level 1stGen game installs. 08 Level 1stGens may have some issues, but this has not/cannot be tested by me.** This is a reissue of Veltro2K's B-26 Marauder Medium Bomber. It has been reskinned/redecaled and had some tweeking done. This mod ONLY represents Marauders used in the ETO. As they are (almost) identical aircraft, your in-game displayed name will read "B-26B/G Marauder" This units represented herein are... 449th BS, 322nd BG, circa 1942 upon initial arrival in the ETO (star/circle) in OD/Grey 449th BS, 322nd BG, cir3a 1943 til wars end, with 'star-and-bar' insignia, also in OD/Grey 494th BS, 344th BG, circa 1944 til wars end, in "Natual Metal" (withOUT OD uppers) All skins are in jpg format, and have been remade from a new Home Grown ™ 'partial template'. All new Squadron Codes, plane-in-group and serial number decals were created. The 449th serials ARE historically accurate (90-95%), matched when possible to call letter. The 494th serials are 'generic' in nature, but are actual B-26G serials. All markings are decals, making in easier for skinners to recrate other ETO (or even MTO) units. There are only 2 nose art decals, both on the 449th skins, one for the 1942 and one for the 1943. None of these skins carry D-Day Invasion Stripes. It should be noted, do =NOT= use this mod in a PTO-centric mods folder; the Pacific Marauders are different, and will covered in another, theatre-specific upload. Engine sounds, pilot figures, BRAND new Hangar and Loading screens (in SF2 jpg format) are include. Bombs and guns are not; you should have them already. A user list is included. Operational service dates are rounded to 'whole months'. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for the change list, and other important notations. Also, the Legal Statement has been changed with regards to this aircraft. For those that still have the original releases, it's advised you delete the aircraft and decals folders for them; this pak is desinged to replace them in total.. **These aircraft herein is released in "AS IS" Condition. The source files have been lost, and there can and WILL be no modifications to the physical model. It 'is they is' and you must accept them with this caveat in mind. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created** Good Hunting!! Republic F-105H Thunderchief for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-105D to create a fictional export version in service with the Hellenic Air Force during the 1967-1982 timeline. Markings are included for the 340th Fighter-Bomber Squadron and the 341st Fighter-Bomber Squadron with the latter having the stock sharkmouth - easily switched to both or neither. A patch template is also included in case you'd like to add your own HAF squadron. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-105H folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-105H folder into your main Decals folder. 3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_HAF folder into you main Pilots folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - 26/01/19
