Couple of shots from a strike mission downtown. The AAA was devastating and i lost my wingman and no3 and was also damaged myself. It makes it that much more rewarding getting back to base after flying through that sh*t good.gif

Hello

Here's my landing approach at Torokina airfield (Salomons V3), with a F-104J.

First attempt : missed approach

Second attempt : too much flaps, too much speed, not enough brakes! heat.gif

...need some practice.

I think I would have landed from the other direction man, u screw ur approach up coming from the mountain side by having to dodge it, and then drop down ur altitude so u gaine airspeed. But thats just my opinion.

Yes and no. I've landed and done touch and gos on the runways. Of course I'm using the Super Hornet, which has a better short field length capability than a '60s vintage aircraft. One key point though, is to put the nose at the runway and immediately hit the speed brake, lower your speed to like around 150-200 knots on the threshold (of course watch sink rate), and as soon as your tires hit, activate the brakes. It can be done, just requires some finesse and knowing your aircraft capabilities.

Of course for argument you can say because I'm in a "clean" configuration it's easier, but I can still do that with five tanks.

Well...

This SalomonsV3 terrain is awesome!!! clapping.gif

And I looove the "Torokina airfiled approach", especially with a Starfighter.

I think you have never landed, if you didn't land by night at the seaplane base (...with a MiG-19 grin.gif )

Lot of fun anyway!
