2 pointsI've been working/tweaking Centurion-1's Korea 1985 campaign here lately, trying to focus on a "what-if" campaign taking place in 1985-1987 timeframe. With this in mind, I'm having to create some skins for aircraft which would have been involved. Currently focusing on the 25th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 51st Tactical Fighter Wing which operated the A-10A from Suwon AB, ROK starting in 1982 till November 1989. This skin is for the A-10A and C package from Spectre8750, I'm currently tweaking it a bit more and then plan to release it. Question, would the Squadron patch in 1984-1989 been the design like what I used or the modern shape?

2 pointsThere's laying down the law and there's beating someone over the head with the book it's written in. Dude's only been a member for 48 hours. I don't know anyone here who's completely grasped this community's behavioural conventions in that time. People come for info, so we point them in the right direction. No need to jump down their throat. This isn't bootcamp. How's anyone gonna learn anything if they're afraid to ask?

2 pointsive worked with Menrva for a few years now. he can be... an acquired taste i dont see his post here as condenscending, but i can totally understand where some might hell, after 8 months workin near daily when we released ODS30AE, i was tired and callin him an AH under my breath constantly. a few months break and it got better. plus three fourths of what we disagreed on he was actually right about. just his phrasing got me worked up enough to not see it at first
-
2 pointsYeah, I don't think Menrva came off too condescending, he was just laying the law down, which any of us would do, and I'd probably come off the same way. It's a touchy subject with people here, so I understand sometimes that we gotta be hard on people.

2 pointsDownloads are only available to subscribers, those that buy site subscriptions. Sorry, but posting "several useful threads and replies" does not suffice, and it's pretty arrogant of you to consider those few posts as useful and that they should grant you anything. There are people here who contributed hundreds of mods over several years. Joining in and saying hi is of no real use to the website's hosting costs.

2 pointsI have found pictures of (2) 79 birds with the 35th TFS, they were 79-397 and 79-398. So far, I've identified (24) A's and (1) B for the 35th TFS and (16) A's and (1) B for the 80th TFS.

2 pointsFor several months now, most of us have been having all sorts for issues when posting to the Forums. Excessively long wait time (I call them the "spinning to wait" after the M$ little spinning circle), double posts, dificulty in editing posts and missing post (those NOT deleted by The Staff). I"m not the only one -- seen posts from many others as well about the issues. So, please, Boss, see what can be done? Thanks!! (from all of us!!)

1 pointbook is Don Logan's first book on Hogs. Republic's A-10 Thunderbolt. i also have the WarHawgs book by him, but its much more late 90s until just before the C upgrade
-
1 pointWhat book is that for reference? I used "Colors and Markings of the A-10 Warthog" and have found some pictures on the web which have help. Here's one June 11, 1986, on approach to Suwon, which is what I was going to base my skins off of. Still need to tweak them a bit. Also need to try and id about a dozen or so tail numbers.

1 pointPfff... Some people just need a thicker skin. "uncalled for"... come on, really?! So many these days are outright snowflakes...

1 pointThank you for the clarification. I didn’t mean to come off as arrogant at all. I’m just new to the site and was genuinely asking how the download access works now, since the rules seem to have changed. I really respect the work and dedication that modders here have put in over the years — and I’m here because I value that effort and want to learn and be part of it. I appreciate any help or guidance you can offer. Thanks again.

1 pointThat was uncalled for. He is a new member and is asking politely. No need to call him arrogant. And yes, I understand that you get practically the same question over and over but that's how it is with new customers. I remember reading posts where it was recommended to put the "no donloads without paid subscribtion" in a more prominent place. This may be a good idea.

1 pointmy bad, looking at the excel it seems they did operate block 10s (79- and 80- birds) for about a year and dont have those two in TAC it appears they operated the block 10s for about a year or so, then went to block 15s until 88. the block 10s then when to Shaw when the 363rd transitioned from a TRW to a TFW
-
1 pointpretty nice, although 8th TFW flew Block 15s. those started with sn 80-0541

1 pointHello everyone! I happen to find this very rare document, which is enriched information about Hughes TARAN 18 FCS / RADAR! And this is from that document: By using two AI to translate this pages for me, here is what it states on the page: Then this video was also found! It shows the radar scope in action! (To see the radar scope, it starts from 14:00) By using Avionics70.dll, I am able to customize the radar better, while adding TWS mode. " Here is screenshot of radar (WIP): (SEARCH MODEL) (TRACK MODE) NOTE: IRM have one circle whilhe SAHM have two. And when AAM have a lock on, msall 'X" symbol will appear as Shoot cue. (GROUND MAPPING MODE) Eagle114th

1 pointWhile I do not recommend it, you can circumvent perma death and retry. As you get shot down, before you hit the ground and the mission ends (and before the game writes to the pilots save file which would show him as KIA and thus end that career), you can end the program (both the launcher and CFS exe) in Ctrl-alt-delete. If you restart game you will be back to where you were before the mission you died in. I have done it in the past, it works, but if your trying to simulate some real life pilots tour than you may not be a fan of this. Sometimes I have done this and some pilots I do not, just to see how far I can get. Some people may hate me for this tip though.
