  1. Age of the laptop? Is it overheating? You mention resolution. Are you running any graphic options at UNLIMITED? It sounds a lot like a card issue. IMHO.
  2. No special software just Windows Boot Manager. Here is an article that can get you started. https://www.techadvisor.com/article/728246/how-to-dual-boot-windows.html There are plenty more examples out there in internet land.
  3. Interesting project. I don't remember the preferred graphics driver for this? D3D? Glide? You may need to google around for a graphics wrapper depending on what graphics settings can be selected. For games like this I have a multiboot rig so I can run Win XP and Win 7 native rather than under a VM. Not sure if you have that option. Sorry I can't be more help at the moment.
  4. Be vewy, vewy careful............................... ;)
  5. If I came off as overly critical I sincerely apologize. I do sympathize with the challenges of a small business. Thanks.
  6. Ok. I get it. Not really an intuitive drop-down with only one entry :) Thanks much for the clarification!
  7. I am having the same issue on both Chrome and Firefox. Some links work, some don't.
  8. As far as I know the reader is still free. Did you try to get an updated version from Adobe?
  9. Did you try going here and clicking "Update Now"? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
  10. Lots of hits on Google for this which is never a good sign. Did you try running it as an admin?
  11. I have had problems with "first gen" SF and FE. FE2 and SF2 work great. CFS3 runs great. No issues with any versions of Office that I have. Lots of very, very old Win95 games just will not run. Go figure. DOSBOX runs great.
  12. If it was easy they wouldn't pay us so much.
  13. It gives a good impression of what the operator would see from the ground station that controls the drone. It is not a cockpit in the normal sense of the word. A little hard to describe. Download the mod and try it for yourself!
  14. This is a hoot! A great mod with a well done "cockpit". Thanks!!
  15. The readme mentions mucking about with the SF2 INI that defines the controls. 2) Copy the TARGET.INI file to the Controls folder inside your Strike Fighters 2 MOD folder and 5) Start Strike Fighers 2, go to the Controller settings inside the Options, and select the TARGET.INI file instead of the Default.INI. Not sure if you did that. Just checking. Sorry I can't be more help.
  16. Is there a Thrustmaster forum you can query? I'm a CH Products guy so I don't have a lot of experience with TM. I googled that message and got a lot of hits. You might try that and work your way through those. If you go into Windows settings search for Joystick and bring up that dialog do the devices show up?
  17. What settings do you use?
  18. Concur. :)
  19. Strike Eagle on the C64 was the first sim I really got into. I still play SEII under dosbox.
  20. I missed that discussion. I appreciate the "news". :) Thanks, Alexis!
  21. The Knowledge Base has a lot of information that you might find useful. https://combatace.com/forums/forum/268-thirdwire-strike-fighters-2-series-knowledge-base/ I would start with the 'What is a "MOD folder"?' topic. I'm not quite sure what you mean by DLC package? Most of the DLCs should have some packaged as standalone EXE files the you install the same way you install the SF2 programs. Double click the EXE files and follow the prompts. What version(s) of SF2 did you purchase?
  22. I think it is a legitimate licensing issue with Tommo who owns Falcon 4.0. I don't see the big deal. F4 is on sale for $5 USD at GOG right now.
  23. Correct, you no longer need a disc. You just need a proper EXE. Works like a charm. You can get Falcon 4.0 at GOG for a song.
  24. And I would think there is some processing efficiency gained by packing files into a CAT. Whether it is worth it is an entirely different question. Would ODS load faster if some of the larger components were packed into CAT files rather than existing as discrete files in a folder? I really don't know. I also don't know how a CAT file would be viewed by the game if it existed in a mod folder. I think it was a legit question.
  25. I'm in. Thanks for the heads up!
