    1. The Hunter F.2, which used the Armstrong-Siddeley Sapphire engine, did not suffer from engine issue. Further problems occurred; ejected cannon ammunition links had a tendency to strike and damage the underside of the fuselage, and diverting the gas emitted by the cannon during firing was another necessary modification. The original split-flap airbrakes caused adverse changes in pitch trim and were quickly replaced by a single ventral airbrake. This meant, however, that the airbrake could not be used for landings.Only 45 planes were built and entered in service only with 257 and 263 squadrons.

    2. The Hunter F.1 entered service with the Royal Air Force in July 1954. It was the first high-speed jet aircraft equipped with radar and fully powered flight controls to go into widespread service with the RAF.
The Hunter replaced the Gloster Meteor, the Canadair Sabre, and the de Havilland Venom jet fighters in service. Initially, low internal fuel capacity restricted the Hunter's performance, giving it only a maximum flight endurance of about an hour. A tragic incident occurred on 8 February 1956, when a flight of eight Hunters was redirected to another airfield due to adverse weather conditions.
Six of the eight aircraft ran out of fuel and crashed, killing one pilot. Another difficulty encountered during the aircraft's introduction was the occurrence of surging and stalling with the Avon engines.

    5. MiG-23MF Flogger "Rakshak" Indian Air Force

Mod to represent Indian Air Force MiG-23MF Flogger, nicknamed by the Indian Air Force "Rakshak"(Saviour/Protector in Hindi). Meant specifically for use with the SF2 Indo-Pak install.

The MiG-23MF was acquired by the IAF in 1983 in response to Pakistan's acquisition of F-16s.It was the first IAF fighter equipped with BVR missiles(R-23/AA-7). The IAF operated two MiG-23MF squadrons, No. 223 "Tridents" and No. 224 " Warlords". Both squadrons are represented in this mod. No. 224 Sqdn continued to operate the MiG-23MF till 2007, when they retired the MiG-23MF and converted to Jaguars

    6. Spitfire F.22, Southern Rhodesian Air Force for SF2

This will work only if you have installed DLC No. 29 AI Aircraft Pack 2, including the Spitfire F.22. Without this pack installed, you will not have the necessary model files.

The SRAF received 22 Mark 22 Spitfires from Britain in 1951, and these were used to form two fighter squadrons until 1954 when they began to be replaced with Vampires. The final Spitfire was withdrawn in 1956; most aircraft were sold on to Syria, although SR64 and SR65 remained in Rhodesia. SR64 was subsequently rebuilt and restored to airworthiness but crashed in 1982, killing its pilot.

This uses an essentially unmodified data.ini and loadout.ini as supplied in the initial DLC pack.Nationality entries have been changed to read 'Rhodesia' but are otherwise unchanged.

Serials include 20 of the known serials for the two batches of Spitfires.

There is some disagreement about the actual colour of these aircraft; some say High-Speed Silver, others pale grey-blue. I believe both are probably correct, as the aircraft will have been delivered in RAF Silver and may subsequently have been painted pale blue.
