as seen in another thread ... USCG PB-1G well, I was able (with the help of the LOD Viewer --all praise Mue!!--) to get the painted on stripes aligned (in 4 segments!) on the fueselage and dorsal fin. There are other problems; some holes in the right side of the fin, where it joins the upper fues, has the large belly radome and not the smaller chin radome the ARS units would have. Also, there's no internal mapping in the waist and nose regions so decals show through from the outside. I sure a 'fake pilot' unit could be added, as I've already hidden the belly radome. Just need the A-21 boat, eh?? btw, last time I worked on this was June, 2015!!!!! I wonder if Veltro might still have the MAX files, and if so someone could seal up the gaps and maybe create a seperate map for the interiors. If not ... well, it's really just for eye candy

It is an old tactic for soviet combat helicopters. I found it in a tactical document of the East German Army. It is called "Angriff aus dem Hochziehen" (attack while pull up). The pilots did not loved this kind of attack, because the helicopters had no aiming device for it. The tactics said, that you need a two ground controllers on the ground. Or two orientation points. The line between the two points or controllers marks the flightpath. When reaching the second point you must pull up to a specific angle, with a specitic speed and start firing the unguided rockets. This had to be done very accurate. If not the rockets hit anything else, but not the target. Even the wind direction and wind speed must be in the calculation. A direct hit on a small target, like a tank is nearly impossible. Areal targets can be hit with a certain degree. After the pull up maneuver it was orderd to fire masses of flares, dive down and go over to very low flight level. And run away. In SF2 world you will see no or less success with this kind of attack.

ALL work by ME ( Sundowner ) is now no longer covered by the CombatAce Freeware Licensing agreement. What this means is that you can only use my work for your own use, you CANNOT re-upload it or any part of it. So please no copying of my skins for any use other than your own. These aircraft are aimed at the folks that actually like to fly missions, So going by that line of action all markings and serial numbers are painted on, this has the added bonus of gaining me a couple of extra fps and also means that I can export the lod WITHOUT the decals option, this definitely gains some more precious fps. This model is a combination of the old (Crab_02 RF-8G) and TMF RF-8A max files which I was working on from the very outset. The RF-8A never got released because of Oli's sudden death. I've combined what I think are the best parts of both to come up with the models here, they may not be perfect or "historically correct" in every way as they are a constant wip. Please read the readme, you never know you might learn something....... Sundowner.

This pack has updated data files for the stock Third Wire SF2:NA Krivak I and Krivak II classes of Soviet frigates. /------------------------------------------------------------------ The changes are primarily centered around adjustments to the Elevation and Train of the guns with regard to both the Maximum and Minimum position and rate of movement. A number of other adjustments have also been made related to gunners and guns. The "Alt1" variant of the data file uses stock guns. The "Alt2" version is set to use alternate guns which should improve the effectiveness of the guns in the AA and CIWS role. The alternate Guns have been included. This file has been tested in SF2:NA.

This model represents the Riga class frigate, in service with the Soviet Union from 1951 to 1991 They were exported to China and several other countries. At least 68 of this class were built, plus at least 14 more license-built copies (the Jinan class or Chengdu class) in China. All necessary sounds, guns, and weapons are included in this package. Hull number decals are not featured, as these ships are meant to be used as OPFOR units. This is my first ship to feature a destroyed model. I hope you will thoroughly enjoy blowing up this vessel. :3 Note: This model has been updated for full compatibility with SF2:NA. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!
