5 pointsI am wrapping up my work on the Photo Phantom in the next few weeks. theres but one state left for Guard units, and i have a slew of post Desert Storm skins to bundle. i put in alot of work this summer for what was intended to be 2 skins tops for one TAC wing! that said, i am not doing anything with Vietnam era skins. there are still new models available for both the original RF-4s as well as the ARN-92 ("towel rack") versions. but i wont be releasing them into the wild unfinished i also will not be releasing the templates publicly. the one i currently work with is a mash up from four different modders in here, and i think it most respectful to not release that into the wild either. that said, anyone with a genuine interest in bringing the early versions to digital life is welcome to PM me. an established modder/skinner would be preferred but i would be willing to mentor someone new to this if youre willing to listen and learn (and potentially get alot of forest whitaker eye through the screen). the models are ready, the data ini's 95% ready. just needs to be skinned and tweeked for the members of the group chat on this, if you'd rather it hold off (or if im being obnoxious posting this) let me know in there and i will adjust accordingly This bird still has alot of stories to be told. but the stories i was interested in telling start after 1975, and im just about done telling them. hopefully somebody is willing to tackle the SEA camo and Gull Gray times

1 pointJust wondered if you guys had any ideas for managing SF2 mod installs? I downloaded NF5 yesterday and installed it and it nearly maxed out my C: drive. I got a big SSD (my fourth in this machine) the other day and moved every game install out of the C: drive. SF2 and the mods are still the biggest non-Windows group of files. I saw a KB article a while back about a way of moving the mod folders to different drives, are there any other ways or is that the best?

1 pointTry file compression as a stop gap if you already did that get a big 1tb-2tb SSD if you want you could even get a 8Tb HDD make sure its optimized for high write and read though
-
1 pointYeah man, get a 2TB (when this laptop dies I'm moving to a 4TB hard drive on the laptop) or higher dude. You can't do much with 250GB, if you can afford it. The amount of mods I have for SF2 alone is 133GB...

Part Time Photos Chapter 4: RF-4C Phantom in the California and Minnesota ANG A TMF Rebuilt skin pack This skinpack brings the Photo Phantoms of California's 196th Tactical Reconnaisance Squadron and Minnesota's 179th Tactical Reconnaisance Squadron into the game. Both units were short time Photo Phantom operators, the 196th only served for three years (1990-1993) in the Hill Grey scehme, while the 179th serve for 7 years (1976-1983) in the South East Asia scheme and the Wraparound schemes. Required a functional copy of any Strike Fighters 2 game except for SF2 North Atlantic (the only one without a native F-4 destroyed model) The aircraft from the TMF Rebuilt RF-4C Late set, available here: https://combatace.com/files/file/18263-late-model-rf-4cs-photo-phantoms-after-vietnam/ Included Skins for two different aircraft models, Decals for those skins Installation Unzip file, add Objects folder to desired mod folder. there should be no overwrites with this pack ****************************************************************************************************************************************************** NOTE!! Nightshade often shows me my errors in screenshots he's just sharing for fun, while Menrva helps me with the more technical aspects -Sundowner, ravenclaw_007, yakarov79 and daddyairplanes templates are a mix of layers as contributed by these four. compiled in current form by daddyairplanes About The Mirage Factory Rebuilt Back in the early days of Wings Over series modding The Mirage Factory, lead by bpao was the peak of modding excellence. Many of their models are still heavily in use today, 15 years later and still amongst the very best. This despite the team not creating any new mods since the passing of Oliver Anguille in 2009. But time does move on, and the next generation of modders have ideas, techniques and tools not available back then. With the help of some of the original modellers (who have copies of the original max files) we can update these fine aircraft for the 2020s. Rebuilt for new terrains and campaigns that were just hopeful wishes over a decade ago. The Mirage in the logo is camoflaged, much like the real aircraft in later service. The "HD" has been replaced with "Rebuilt" as what was HD in the 2010s is jsut standard today. Finally, the new logo thanks Oli, both for the aircraft that are still relevant today and for the inspiration he's given to the modders that followed him. on behalf of The Mirage Factory (original and rebuilt) I thank you for downloading this mod, and hope you enjoy it. 1 pointEven if the entire state is the living embodiment of the song "Uneasy Rider" and the combined IQ of the state's population is 3 degrees less than the melting point of ice, these are some damned fine skins. (FYI, I grew up in MS) As for the CA skins, I'll be humming "California Dreaming". And having been to Offutt, that was easy: "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place"

1 pointI will be making some more ground objects one of these projects will be the PLZ-05 or the Type 05 is a 155 mm self-propelled howitzer.

1 pointMore 1979 scenario test using the resources provided by Viggen that made the whole thing immensely easier. Just got delayed cuz new job but I really want to see this completed with as few bugs as possible for an optimal experience. It will serve as the template for the 1989 scenario initially planned. (sadly i'm starting to like the '79 scenario cuz more Aircraft variety and Royal Australian Navy aircraft carrier lol!)

1 pointanyone ever find out something, only to misplace where they found it (research wise)? have 69-0372 listed in my Tageu squadron as the "15 TRS" bird. this is noted in my "highly organized" spreadsheet, which means i discovered the fact somewhere and noted it but i cant recall where from 72-0155 went to Bergstrom in late '89, so it is unlikely it stayed as the squadron bird for any length of time. but Blade did get my eyes onto tailcode position and a serial i missed so that is pretty cool now to scrub Alabama.....
-
1 pointthis little b........ well is done now
-
1 pointwell i try on the research everything in red is placed there by text on website, not a book (which i feel is less likely for errors) or pic i know, it stayed the same for Euro 1 too

SF2 F3D-2/EF-10B Skyknight by Coyote Aerospace 1/1/2024 -For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Recommended) This is the release of AngelP's F3D-2/EF-10 "Skyknight". It's being released as a "provisional Beta", due to the LOD needing more work. But rest assured, it's been 'tested to destruction', and other than needing a few more seperated meshes, is fully functional. The aircraft has been split into two differing birds, one the night/all weather fighter for the 1950s (F3D-2) and the Vietnam War era stand-off/escort jammer (EF-10B). Due to the need for certain types of electronics (avionics), 2 different cockpits have been used. The aircraft(s) include the following skin sets: F3D-2: VC-3 (USN) in standard overall Dark Gloss Navy Blue VMF(N)-513 - VMF(N)-531 - both in overall Night Black, USMC night fighters during the Korean War EF-10B: VMCJ-1 in standard Gull Grey/White Most marking are decals; excepting a few squadron flashes. Decal randomization is TRUE. As expected, as many Modex numbers as possible have been matched to their BuNums. These are marked with the star (*). Those unmarked could not be matched, or are just 'generic' in nature. Included are pilot figures, drop tanks (ini only) and the EF-10 gets external jammer and chaff pods. This aircraft is NOT carrier qualfied, although the wings fold with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/9, and the canopy hatch with Shift/0. When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection dropdown you'll see for each: F3D-2 Skyknight (CAF) EF-10B Skyknight (CAF) these will differentiate ours from any others you might (or most likely DON'T) have. As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. If there's any Notes, give them a read too! :) Wrench Kevin Stein Director of Marketing, Coyote Aerospace "We Aim Higher" -
