Hi everyone, I'd like to take a minute to give everyone a quick update on our current projects. THEMES RELEASED We've released new themes for the site which change the look and feel of CombatACE. At the bottom of all our pages locate the Theme link and select it to choose your favorite look while using our site. The Wings Over Flanders Fields theme has been revamped and returned to the Old Brown Dog Software Forum. Our classic theme "Morning Light" is the professional white background in our traditional color set. The new theme "After Sunset" is a deep mid-range denim that reminds me of one of our first theme sets we started with back in 2002 called Bohegedda. The newest theme "Midnight Abyss" is a dark rich black inspired theme that is super easy on the eyes especially at night. Feel free to pick your favorite and let us know which one you like best. LIBRARY WORK The Admins and Modders have been hard at work restoring some lost images on older files. This has been something I've wanted to accomplish for years and just never had the time. I can't thank everyone enough for all their time and energy they've invested into this project. As we go through these files the system is updating the "last update" timestamp which is causing some issues with the way the library is displaying most recent files shown first. When we're done we'll be restoring all the timestamps which will return the files back to normal with all images restored. OUR PICKS We're working on a new roll-out of hand-picked files we're endorsing as must-have downloads. We're continuing work on the section and hopefully will be done with it soon. Give it a look and let us know what you think of it so far. The Our Picks section of the site is live here https://combatace.com/ourpicks/22 points

G'Day all, My next project is a production version of the F-32 and I am building all three versions A(CTOL)/B(STOVL)/C(CV). I never liked the massive chin intake of the prototype, so I have changed that. I also preferred the original delta wing design to the conventional wing/tail configuration of the proposed production model. It's currently in its early stages, but I'll post progressive updates here. In the meantime, enjoy these screenshots from 3dsmax. Dels19 points

i´m working since quite some time on the F-4F cockpits , my biggest problem is that i dont get any flight manual for the Peace Rhine and ICE versions , now i got some pictures from a F-4F Peace Rhine cockpit and was able to almost finish it i still have to do some animations and small items that are missing so i have now the early F-4F cockpit ( from 1973 onward ) and the F-4F Peace Rhine cockpit ( from 1985 onward ) next will be the ICE cockpit the ICE cockpit has a more advanced IFF control panel and a digital fuel quantity indicator and the 4 fuselage weaponstations for the AIM-120 , so still a lot of work F-4F cockpit 1973 the F-4F Peace Rhine is a big upgrade compare to the early F-4F cockpit , it has the DSCG radar with CCIP , the Shoot Lights and a more modern UHF control panel and the Weapons Panel that is used on the F-4E , one thing i only found on the Peace Rhine and the ICE version is the NBC Protection Blower no other F-4 version has that , so the german pilots hat some protection / filter system in case of a nuclear contamination F-4F Peace Rhine cockpit17 points

with the Peace Rhine upgrade the F-4F got a special feature regarding the use of the AIM-9 Sidewinder , the pilot could chose between the SEAM (Sidewinder Extended Acquisition Mode) or SLAVE mode the SEAM (Sidewinder Extended Acquisition Mode) is a target acquisition mode for the AIM-9 Sidewinder missile that allows the seeker head to scan a larger area (often a grid pattern) instead of targeting a single point. This enables the missile to locate and acquire targets with a heat source (aircraft), even if they are not directly in the nose. This increases the probability of a hit by allowing radar or helmet sights to pre-initialize the missile or for it to search for targets independently the "Sidewinder Slave Mode" usually refers to the AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missile, where a radar or helmet-mounted display acquires (locks) the target, and the missile is then guided to that radar track to "slave" the seeker—a form of radar-assisted target acquisition before the missile's infrared seeker takes over or the missile fires to track the target, often in conjunction with the helmet-mounted display (HMD). There is also an interpretation as a vehicle function (Sidewinder Mode) with all-wheel steering for diagonal driving, but the context strongly suggests the missile. to get the SEAM and Slave lights working and "simulate" the functions i use the SEAM light duringradar search operation , you will get the typicall sidewinder growl sound and the Shoot light will show you if you are in range to fire the missile you will not get the yellow lock on in the HUD , for the SLAVE light i use the Radar Boresight this way you get the Lock on in the HUD the sidewinder growl sound and in the radar scope the VC display for now the SEAM and SLAVE mode will only work with the AIM-9L , i dont think that the AIM-9B would support this function SEAM mode SLAVE mode if anybody has abetter idea how to simmulate this functions please let me know16 points

Well, modders are sharing their progress on a daily basis... (I am bad because I do not do that so often) So I have made some progress, and I had some 'setback.' Funny thing is that these zippers are more or less ready for nearly two years...so now looking at them is making me think what to improve... I needed to update this and that...then something came up...etc. So I was planning to upload already KLu zippers, like 2 weeks ago. But again changes...Then, since I updated one thing, I needed to update old stuff. And so on... I have made some changes in ini files. Since I like to see aircraft appear on the flightline with wingtip tanks. I have made some changes in data ini and made fake "fuel tanks" to disable them if needed in the loadout menu. Also, in fighter-bomber variants gun will be loaded optionally. As in the case of carrying nuke, the gun was to be removed... and some other small changes. You will see. A Few new pilots. because one is not enough. There will be some options to choose. And planning to make a few more... for now HGU-2A with MBU-5 mask also optional with "ram" visor cover - and you can choose transparent or black visor. And P-4B helmet with MBU-3 mask...that i already showed before. Still going through pictures to create some options for countries. So if you have suggestions.... and yes i started to do GQ7/IQ7 seat for models that require it. will require revoking defogging tubes in the pit too So instead of uploading AMI starfighters this week (plan from early December 2025), I have to go back and update some old stuff. Luftforsvaret and KLu are ready to upload, and when I find time will deal with files. o! I reworked wheel bays and updated the skin in that area.. some cockpit details.... and 're-painted' exhaust15 points

The introduction of the MiG-19 "Farmer" and the potential for the North Korean Air Force (NKAF) to acquire this aircraft posed a major problem for the South Korean Air Force leadership in the early 1960s. Since most squadrons were equipped with various versions of the F-86, the high command feared that the "Farmer" could give the North a decisive air advantage. To mitigate this risk, the Korean government decided to contact the American Kennedy administration. The Koreans wanted an aircraft that would allow them to quickly reach the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) if necessary and intercept any intruding attackers. Several models were offered, of which the South Korean leadership preferred the F-104, despite its shorter range. In October 1961, the Korean Foreign Minister (Choi Duk-shin) and Defense Minister (Park Byung-kwon) signed a formal order for a total of 72 F-104Cs, which were delivered starting in mid-1962. To compensate for the F-104's short range, Quick Response Airstrips (QRAS) were designated at various points south of the DMZ. Their sole purpose was to refuel, rearm, and maintain the F-104s in the event of an attack. Basically, the QRAS could be a longer road where the plane could land, hidden in a forest for example. Necessary resources for the completion of the tasks would be delivered by specially assigned units inside Army and Air Force. By the mid-1990s, calls arose for the scrapping of the now 30-year-old aircraft, as they had become inefficient and expensive to maintain. As part of the overall modernization of the ROKAF, a program to improve the Starfighter was also initiated. This Combat Value Upgrade (CVU) was intended to make comprehensive modifications to the aging aircraft. The contract was awarded to KAI, with a target completion date of mid-2003. Problems involving the restructuring of the aircrafts fuselage and wing roots led to a major delay, with the program being completed at the end of 2005. This project involved extensive modifications to the aging aircraft. The modifications included: - Use of a more powerful and efficient engine -> Conversion to the General Electric F110-GE-129 engine - Fuselage reinforcement for increased payload capacity -> Replacement of critical components and use of high-strength and durable materials, especially in the wing root and inner strut areas - Addition of two additional pylons for more payload - Installation of a more modern radar -> Conversion to the APG-82 system. - Improvement of the ECM system - Installation of a chaff/flare deployment system (30 each) - Fixed sniper pod for electro-optical target acquisition The improved model also became the first aircraft capable of using the Korean version of the Brimstone missile, "Yuhwang" (Brimstone in Korean), which featured laser targeting. The pilots who flew the new aircraft for the first time praised its power. However, they also warned against underestimating the aircraft, as these modifications affected its flight characteristics. Of the 64 aircraft remaining (8 lost due to accidents) before the conversion, only 24 were upgraded for cost reasons. The others were decommissioned and scrapped. In early 1980, South Korea showed great interest in the Tornado, particularly the German variants because of the MW-1 multi-role weapon. The aircraft's primary mission was intended to be low-level attacks on advancing enemy troops, especially tanks. Due to the weapon's destructive power, the then German Defense Minister, Hans Apel, imposed an export ban. German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher tried unsuccessfully to persuade Apel to reconsider. Following this setback, the South Korean government turned to Italy, which also rejected the sale of the aircraft and the weapon, citing Germany's decision. After Italy's rejection, British Foreign Secretary Peter Carington contacted the South Korean government and offered them the British GR.1 model. However, this aircraft could only be equipped with the JP233 missile pod, designed for disabling airfields. Within the military leadership, discussions began regarding how this weapon could be used against the North in an attack scenario. After comparing the specifications of the cluster munitions and the mines, South Korea decided to order this type of aircraft. A total of 48 aircraft were ordered. Deliveries began in late 1982 and were completed in 1984. Panavia Tornado GR.1K, 11th Wing, 102 Squadron "Blue Dragon", 198212 points

I made a couple new skins for the forums which I'm still working on but they are usable. Bottom of any page there is now a Theme selection where you can choose light or dark. I also re-introduced a new theme for the WOFF guys. I hope these help and if there's issues let me know about them here. Thanks11 points
