VonS keeps tweaking his FM and it keeps getting better and better. For example, the model now experiences wing vibration in certain flight conditions, just like the real aircraft in 1918! Click shots below for hi-res images.

If I´m not wrong the Desert terrains refer to the Strike Fighters 2 original desert terrain. In a Strike Fighters 2 Europe install you won´t find the desert.cat file. Only if you have a merged install with original Strike Fighters 2 in it....

A Canadian search-and-recovery mission says it has successfully found a flight test model of a Cold War-era supersonic interceptor jet. The "Raise the Arrow" project has been searching for free-flight models of the Avro Arrow in the depths of Lake Ontario since July. Over 60 years ago, nine models were launched into the Great Lake to test their flight design. Searchers are using advanced sonar technology in the underwater hunt. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41193900

Anyone that's ever seen this movie will know the reference of this thread title (which I"m sure I spelled wrong..) Afficianodos of aviation films will appriciate this lost little gem from Hollywood. I'm talking about 1948's "FIghter Squadron", staring actors and, most importantly, P-47 Thunderbolts. If you've never seen it, take the time. The flying sequences are worth it (both the archival combat footage and the 'new' shots for the film. It's never been released on video (tape or disc) that I know of...but someone uploaded the full movie to YouTube. Enjoy!

Not quite sure of the pre-video circumstances caught by the security camera, but it looks like the Skyhawk lost power during take-off and collided with the tree just as it was beginning to stall out. The impact causes the tree to break, cushioning the aircraft into an upright landing in the parking lot, and the pilot sustains no injuries! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdO7Ag_j-9E Brings to mind the old adage: "A good landing is one you walk away from, and a great landing is one where the airplane can be used again"!
