3 points1. Because of limitations of the Avionics. ini, The SHOOT will not show up. It was a compromise. Based on the limits of the Avionics.ini. and realism. If you can figure out a way within the game engine to produce an " In range" icon on top of an " Lock icon?" Then do it! but that is outside of the parameters of the 70Avionics.ini. 2. The reason why is weapon types and dates. F/A-18-A. Only uses AIM-9L, M, and X. But. That weapon you referenced is listed as NATO. As is the L,M,X. So if you deviate from the standard load out. You can load it. A complete fantasy too do so. So, The proper symbology on the HUD should be... " 9L, 9M,9X." Because Hornets only carry that. You can't deliniate between sub types. So. 9M is the most accurate. 3. EOGB Mavericks can. Same type of guidance. Reason why if you choose to stray from the loadouts. You can almost load anything you want. Basic SF Modding 101! You are doing good! All this stuff you are complaining about... 12 years ago we figured out! I am glad you got an interest in this game! Please help us make it better.

2 pointsI saw that a couple times as I was adjusting some basic data.ini numbers during test flights. Note the "Y" values for the fuel tank's MinExtentPosition/MaxExtentPosition. Not really sure if this is the solution to the problem, but I changed these to have the WingFuelTank included within the Fuselage and haven't had that "forward-looking" leak occur since those revisions.

2 pointsThis is to all the modders of First Eagles. TK gave us the basis of a WW1 sim. There wasn't much to it when I bought it, all those years ago, for TK is was a change up, I guess, something different from jet sims. Then, the modders here stepped up to the plate and knocked that slow pitch out of the park. As we used to say in my Babe Ruth league, "That one's in the weeds, you ain't gonna find it." Yesterday, I flew my Halberstadt Cl.II over the lines and took out some Schneider CA 1s. This sim is amazing today, and it's all due to the work of the modders. My thanks to you all.

1 pointI guess he didn't have an actual Hornet pilot recommend the HUD symbology like we did. Oh well. If another game is a reference then...

1 pointI have some problems with the campaign. The RAF is fought down. No resistance in the air anymore. But the ground forces does not make the last step, to conquer the british home base, to win the campaign. So i'm working on finetuning and testing. Again and again. Its boring.

1 pointthat matches with what I saw. What struck me was the incredibly low-tech instrumentation and very poor visibility from the cockpit. It was at least a generation behind our stuff, and I was flying the oldest version of our stuff (we called ourselves in Carrier Air Wing Five the Antique Flying Club of Westpac). Had it gone hot, it would have been a slaughter. Our primary concern would have been all the falling Soviet debris...........(and papercuts from filling out all of the after-action paperwork) the engagement that I referred to above was the second Gulf of Sidra incident. I was the Flag TAO for the 6th Fleet Commander. Exciting morning......

1 pointHere's a good article on Constant Peg with some interesting information on the MiG's. >>Constant Peg Article<< In the mid-80's while stationed in Germany I got to touch and climb into a Flogger as part of my intro to 32nd AADCOM (I was in a IHAWK unit). The thing that really struck me was how poorly manufactured the plane was (as mentioned in the article above). I remember the rivets. I also remember a fuselage fuel tank which was integral with the aircraft skin. They told me it they leaked all the time and were not self-sealing. Tapping on it sounded like hitting an empty steel drum. The cockpit was pretty low tech. I saw a lot of Soviet equipment and was uttered shocked at how bad it was. Maybe it was all export stuff. The point of the program was to show incoming officers the reality of enemy - "that Soviets were not 10 feet tall" and that we could defeat them despite their supposed numerical superiority. Events a few years later seemed to prove that out. Now Typhoid, you must tell us a bit more of your combat experience!
