2 pointsIt is the Alaska, Bering Strait (1955-2018) remake I had made. You can also tell by the snowy runway textures made by luk1978. @Wrench Just FYI, I had released a scratch made version of the Hawaii terrain, which is in full Real World scale and with all possible airports and cities/towns of the archipelago. I think it's often overlooked.

August 2022 =============== United States Air Force F-5C Skoshi Tiger Volume III VERSION 1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------ We are proud to present the F-5C Skoshi Tiger, a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, and one of the most enduring American military aircraft designs ever produced during the Cold War period. This third Volume depicts the following variants; the USAF F-5C and the VNAF F-5C. It has been our goal to provide to the simmer a highly detailed model and texture base which preserve the beautiful lines of this aircraft; and to engineer flight model files and a cockpit/gauge file-set that are authentic and add to the immersion of the flying experience within the Strike Fighters 2 series. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: -------------------------- 1. Copy the contents of the "To Mods Folder(s)" to your SF2 Mod directory. Allow directory merging and overwrites, provided the overwrites pertain to "fake pilot" entries, as well as weapons made by ravenclaw_007, which are included in this and many other releases. 2. Add the entries of "ADD_TO_SOUNDLIST.txt" to your SOUNDLIST.INI (located in the "user\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Flight" folder).If one does not exist, then you will need to extract it using the 3rdWire CAT extract utility. You are simply required to substitute the "XXX"s with the next sequential number in the sound file section of the file. NOTE 1: ------------ Both Regular and Higher resolution cockpit textures are included in their own distinct folders in the package. The user may alternate between the two by "commenting out" the relevant line in the F-5C_COCKPIT.INI [CockpitData] Directory=cockpit <---This is the default //Directory=cockpit_Lo-Fi In order to "activate" the higher resolution textures you would decomment the previous line and comment out the next line, thus: [CockpitData] //Directory=cockpit Directory=cockpit_Lo-Fi <---This is now Low-Res NOTE 2: ------------ Another frame-rate friendly option for those with older hardware is to use the Next level of Detail Model as the primary external model. This simply involves changing the first line in the F-5A_HAF.ini from this.. [LOD001] Filename=F-5C.LOD to this.. [LOD001] Filename=F-5C_002.LOD Much effort was made to provide those with lower end systems an alternative lower poly-model to be able to enjoy the F-5a, so please take advantage of this _002.LOD model should you experience frame-rate issues. While not as "rounded" as the Higher poly version, it is nonetheless just as detailed and extensive. NOTE 3: ------------ For those who may find loading times excessive, the .jpg files in the texture folders can be reduced to 50% of their size without sacrificing too much surface detail. [Indicated Airspeeds] FLAPS (FULL DEFLECTION): 300kts for both leading and trailing edge. FLAPS (MANOUEVERING): 450kts for both leading and trailing edge NOTE: The F-5A uses full flaps for take off but due to a game bug you must manually select full flaps for take off when player flown. The AI will use full flaps although you can hear the flap sound cycling between flap 1 and flap 2. The gunsight was acceptable for aiming AIM-9B missiles, guns, rockets and bombs. BMS 4.36 U2 requires a legit installation of a Falcon 4.0 (all older and newer versions are accepted alike, i.e. Microprose, Hasbro, GOG, Steam, Retroism). The check is performed both at setup time and every time you start BMS. If no valid installation is found, BMS will exit with a corresponding error message. U2 is an incremental update on top of 4.36 base + U1, so you need to have the BMS 4.36 Full Installer package and Update 1 available on your PC. Vipers Over Bosnia Part 1: USAFE F-16C/Ds During Operation Deny Flight In April 1993, NATO had documented over 500 unauthorized military flights over Bosnian airspace since the United Nations passed Resolution 781 that prohibited those flights. The Umited Nations then passed Resolution 816 that extended the flight ban to all fixed and rotary wing in the country and authorized memeber states to use all measures need to comply. On 12 April 1993, NATO began Operation Deny Flight, combat air patrols to enforce the no fly zone over Bosnia Herzogovina. In June 1993, Resolution 836 allowed NATO to also provide close air support to UNPROFOR on request (This was not often used because requests had to go to the UN in New York, then to NATO then back to the pilots and ground forces involved). As a result, the typical loadout was of air to air missiles as well as a pair of bombs and jaming pod. The closest American air base to the conflict zone was Aviano AB in Italy. Many US Fighter units forward deployed there at the beginning, including elements of the 86th Fighter Wing (512th and 526th Fighter Squadrons) which was transitioning from the F-16C Block 30 to the F-16C Block 40. This unit was in the middle of that transition on 28 Feb 1994 when elements of the 526th FS engaged 6 Serbian J-21 jets with the USAF claiming 4 downed (the Serbs claim 5 were lost). Later in 1994, the 86th Wing ceased fighter operations and the two squadrons were moved to Aviano to become part of the 31st Fighter Wing (510th FS and 555th FS). These squadrons continued operations over Bosnia through the shoot down incident on 2 Jun 1995 and the air strikes conducted as part of Operation Deliberate Force. With the adopting of the Dayton Peace Accords, Deny Flight was determined to no longer be necessary and terminated on 15 December 1995. This mod represents the four USAFE main F-16 squadrons that took part, the 512th FS Dragons, 526th FS Knights, 510th FS Buzzards, and 555th FS Triple Nickel. It also covers the two different blocks of F-16 flown at the time (30 and 40) Included F-16C Block 30 and 40, F-16D Block 40 new F-16D Block 40 various period specific weapons and pilots various ini edits to match the era new hangar and loading screens NOTE: The D models have very few serial numbers to each unit. most units only had one or two family models. The best use for these is to add on as a member of a flight of single seaters. The load outs are the same so you will be able to load the same weapons. 0 points25 August 1916 With the Royal flying Corps somewhere in France Dear Mr and Mrs Hawkwood, By now I am quite sure that Major Ross-Hume has written you with the news of the loss of your dear son, David. I flew with David for the past three months. Everyone in the squadron knew that he had been in France for more than a year and was long overdue for a job in Home Establishment. Only a few nights ago, we chatted over tea in the mess about his wanting to go home and have a crack at the Zeppelins over London. David was a constant inspiration to us all in the squadron. He took time with each new pilot to make sure he was prepared thoroughly for the trials ahead. It was clear to all that David would soon be promoted captain and given command of a flight. On Thursday, 24th inst., he led a group of nine machines to bomb a German rail station close behind the front. Heedless of anti-aircraft fire, he placed his bombs directly on target. Because several of the aircraft did not release their bombs on the first pass over the station, they turned about for another run. Whilst they were doing this, David circled about protectively. A group of Fokker scouts came on the scene. Three of them engaged David and his observer, Lieutenant King. David was undaunted and quickly sent one of the Huns down out of control. The other two ran away. Meanwhile, I dropped my bombs and flew to rejoin David. But behind me, two German biplanes dived down to attack our comrades that were still over the target. David saw this and turned back to help them. Although he was well out of danger, he returned and threw himself directly into the fight. I saw him attack one and then another of the German machines. He was turning sharply to the left when he collided with another friendly aeroplane that turned into him. Both machines were severely damaged by the impact, and I fear there is little hope. Together with several of David’s friends, we have gathered his personal effects. The major will arrange to have them sent to you. I hope that my letter has not distressed you needlessly.
