1 pointView File SF2 T-34A Mentor (RCAF) Skin Pack by Wrench F2 T-34A Mentor (RCAF) Skin Pack by Wrench 1/20/2023 -For SF2, Any and All- A new skin for RUssoUK's fun little T-34A Mentor recreate the 25 as used by the RCAF from 1954 - 1956. These had a very short service life in Canada, and were passed on to other NATO/MADSC allies. The aircraft itself can be fond at the following URL: https://combatace.com/files/file/17995-sf2-t-34a-mentor-usaf-upgrade-pack-by-russoukwrench / ALL markings are decals and Decal Randomization is TRUE. There are 25 serial/Buzz numbers for the aircraft. These are 100% historically correct. The skin itself is in jpg format. As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. Happy Landings! 1 pointMcDonnell Douglas F-4E 'Kurnass' - 'Aggressor Flight', No.69 Squadron, 'The Hammers', Heyl Ha'Avir, 1984 The transfer of 35 ex-USAF F-4E's to the Egyptian Air Force under the September 1977 'Peace Pharaoh' agreement saw the Heyl Ha'Avir introduce a dedicated Kurnass Aggressor Flight to give frontline F-15 and F-16 pilots DACM training and an opportunity to develop tactics against potentially hostile F-4's. Entering service in 1981 (as part of an enlarged No.69 squadron) the Kurnass aggressors flew in a variety of schemes and took part in attacks against Syrian anti-aircraft missile batteries in 'Operation Peace for Galilee' in 1982 destroying several SAM sites whilst suffering no losses to enemy action. One of the F-4J 'DLC' skins adapted for the Kurnass.

1 pointBack in the day when I got my first PC for home/gaming (around August of 2000), I saw three WW2 flight sims on the shelf: EAW, Jane's WW2 Fighters, and Fighter Squadron: Screamin' Demons Over Europe. I studied the information on the boxes: flyable planes, screenshots, etc. It was a tough call, but I already owned Jane's Fighters Anthology and loved the graphics on the box, so I went with Jane's WW2 Fighters. WW2 combat flight sims have never stopped evolving and far surpassed those three sims, so I never did go back and buy or play EAW despite my years of dedication to TK's Strike Fighters series.

1 point53 Years Ago Pan Am Took Its First Boeing 747 Pan Am introduced the 747-100 on January 22nd, 1970. The aircraft would become synonymous with the legacy carrier, bringing a new age of flight to the world. For many, the first time on a plane was with the type due to the affordability and opportunity that came with it. Pan Am initially planned for the 747 to begin flying commercially on January 21st. However, activity was delayed due to technical issues impacting the aircraft that was due to fly. Thus, the next day, another jumbo took the lead. It transported 335 passengers and 20 crewmembers from JFK to London Heathrow to kick off global jumbo operations. More than 1,560 747s have been built since the program began in the 1960s. The last unit of the series is set to be delivered in October 2022, with the final customer being Atlas Air. In the passenger space, the 747-8 is largely keeping the family’s operations going, with the likes of Lufthansa, Korean Air, Air China, and several government departments flying the model. Air China, Air India, Asiana Airlines, Atlas Air, Lufthansa, Mahan Air, and Rossiya Airlines have also been flying the once-popular 747-400 in recent times. When it comes to the 747-100, 168 units were produced in total. Of these builds, 167 were delivered to customers. This variant is still in service. Namely, the Iran Air Force holds a cargo modification. The department also maintains the -200C and 200F. Speaking of the military, the 747 has famously provided the role of Air Force One since 1990. This title is the official air traffic control call sign for a US Air Force aircraft carrying the US president. Overall, the 747, along with other quadjets in the industry, has fallen out of fashion for more efficient twinjets. Nonetheless, the Queen of the Skies is a favorite among the aviation community, giving a sense of nostalgia and pride for many. With over five decades in service, the 747 is truly an icon and will leave a legacy for decades to come. source: https://simpleflying.com/pan-am-boeing-747-52-years/

P-3C "Orion" Remod Pak 12/19/22 -- For SF2, Any & All -- This is a fairly heavy overhaul, plus numerous additions, to Florian's Lockheed P-3C "Orion" maritime patrol and anti-submarine aircraft. Please be advised, as the physical model has not been "finished" since it's 2012 release, it may still be considered an "advanced Beta". This package, due to numerous changes (listed in the Change Log), is designed to REPLACE IN TOTAL the early 2011 kit. If you have that original repackaging mod, you CAN just drop all of this one directly over it, or delete the aircraft and decals folders and start fresh. Your Choice (tm). Either way SHOULD work with no issues. But always think 'safety first'. The older, original skins have been completely revamped: USNGrey1 USNGrey2 *see notes about these 2* Royal Norwegian Air Force (No.333 Squadron) original Dark Sea Grey, and NEW Lo-Viz The new skins are: JMSDF -in both GullGrey/White and LoViz grey overall (see notes) RAAF -both #10 & #11 squadrons USN- VP-40 "Fighting Marlins" (GG/W) All skins are in jpg format. All new decals are included, "almost" all with historically matching BuNums-to-Modex numbers (wherever possible, and the information was discoverable). Decal randomization for ALL skins is TRUE. For those forces with paint scheme changes at specific years, the SF2 Date Switch (tm) is active. As always, =READ= the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions. There is also a huge amount of information in the "Notes" section. PLEASE read it!!! Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein -

1 pointThis date in history exactly 70 years ago...On the night of July 16, 1952, Lt Guy Bordelon (aka Lucky Pierre) of VC-3, while flying this F4U-5N Corsair, BuNo 124453, scored his 5th kill to become the Navy's only ace, the wars only piston engine ace and the only night fighter ace of the Korean War. Both my father and my Uncle Bill served on board the U.S.S. Princeton (CV-37) , the ship Lt Bordelon was assigned.
