5 pointsJust got into the SF2 series and love it. Now the next move ,FE2 ,a awesome looking sim that my gaming rig can handle easily. Very excited about all the addons and all the mods for it. Will be getting FE2 in the next few weeks-(limited income) ,and will really enjoy it. I'm sure i'll be a regular once i do ! Love combat ace. Can't believe what i've been missing out on all this time. Better late than never ! Regards,Scott

2 pointsbrother, get use to it a large portion of this site is lurkers. very happy to watch and download whatever is out there that suits their tastes. not so big on participation. not saying its good or bad. just an observation. theres maybe 15 percent active in communicating on this site, 5 percent of it involved in any form of content creation. numbers aint exact, but you get the point. best to set question parameters, a time limit and go with hte results at the end. people that will bitch, will do it whether you had 66 votes or 66,000.

1 pointWell I never thought I'd see this. An A-6 intruder with an opening canopy! Most of the Vietnam aircraft that come with SF2 have the ability to open and shut the canopy built in to the DATA file, but not activated. To activate the animation for the A-6 canopy, you do this: In the DATA file, scroll down to [Nose] and add this: [Nose] SystemName[004]=Canopy Then go to down to [Pilot], which looks like this [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=PilotN1 Position=-0.35,1.15,0.85 SeatModelName=seat_f-4 SeatPosition=-0.35,1.15,0.48 MinExtentPosition=-0.85, 0.49,-0.35 MaxExtentPosition= 0.00, 1.81, 0.91 CanopyNodeName=canopy_rear CanopyAnimationID=3 Now add this: [Canopy] SystemType=ANIMATION InputName=ANIMATION_1 DeploymentMethod=MANUAL AnimationTime=6.0 AnimationID=3 MaxDeploySpeed=20 Make sure that you put the same number in [Canopy] Animation ID= as is already in [Pilot] CanopyAnimationID= With InputName=, put the number of the key that you usually use for canopy animation. ID=1 relates to ShiftKey+1, which is what I use. This works with F-105 and F-100 too, and probably a lot more. If you don't see the point of this, don't use it.

1 pointFascinating. Thank you. I stand corrected. Actually, I now see where my mistake arose. On War Thunder Wiki, where I did my initial research, the article was entitled "Category:Aircraft with drogue parachute", and I just continued with their terminology. They don't have any articles about drag parachutes. Wikpedia says "A drogue parachute is a parachute designed for deployment from a rapidly-moving object. It can be used for various purposes, such as to decrease speed, to provide control and stability, or as a pilot parachute to deploy a larger parachute".

1 pointVery old news. Most of us have known this since WoV came out (for the A-6). IIRC, there's even a tutorial in the Knowledge Base. Can't remember if it's in 1stGen (SF/Wo*) or SF2 KBs Also, by Modder Consesus (tm), Canopy animations (manual input type) are Amimation_10, so to use the Shift/0 (zero) keystroke. Also the way it's been done since first discovered in the early 2000s (shift/9 is wingfold, just so's you know)
