At the risk of hijacking the thread, and apologies in advance Kevin, but this would make a great idea for an 80's style all-action TV series called 'Top Aces!' Each week our Top Aces heroes are deployed to a different country, ostensibly to help with training or advisory to the host nation, act as aggressors in an exercise, or some other excuse. In reality, of course, they're there to carry out a super secret covert op for the US. Missions could be set in real world locations, or fictional countries (bonus points for identiying where the countries are from): A strike on a nuclear facility in the Middle Eastern Empire of Paran ;) A raid to capture a drugs baron in the Central American country, Val Verde Bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri, flying from Drambuie on the Barbary Coast Stopping a coup in the Central African kingdom of Zamunda Extracting an Agency asset from Agrabah, east of the Euphrates Helping to stem an invasion of the Central European nation of Florin by neighbouring Guilder Taking out a terrorist camp in the African republic of Zangaro With a main cast of impossibly good looking US and international (well someone has to fly the Alphas and Mirages) male and female actors as the former military Top Aces pilots, each with their own characters and back story of why they're ex-military to be explored in future episodes. Plus a trope-fest of a supporting cast: The crusty retired general who commands them (is Dale Dye available?) The suitably geeky WSO who's a whizz at electronics and, with the sexy female scientist on loan from DARPA, usually comes up with the weekly tech solution to get the mission over the line The mysterious 'Agency' contact who hands out the mission each week, with an attractive aide/pilot/driver/bodyguard. Or maybe as a nod to the classics like Mission: Impossible and Charlie's Angels we don't get to see the Agency contact as the missions are always briefed on a Zoom call where the contact's camera is always off, with the catchphrase: 'I'm sharing my screen now, can everyone see it OK?' The pilot of the C-130 for logistical support, is a trucker, like Snowman from Smokey and the Bandit I'm sure you can come up with others... The real Top Aces has a huge variety of aircraft, including their Blue Air fleet Top Aces - Wikipedia, so there will be great opportunitites to showcase the different planes and helicopters iin action. Of course there will be the usual trope of re-using the flight footage from the pilot show, and if push comes to shove, because of the Israeli camo on the Top Aces F-16s, we can also use footage from Iron Eagle, like everyone else making an aviation movie in the 1980s & 90s has! Think of the spin-offs - book and comics series, flight sim games, a kids animated show - and in 30 years, it can be remade as a big budget movie that will either spawn a new franchise or sink without a trace at the box office. Glad I got that off my chest. Normal service is resumed.

Phinal Photos: RF-4C in USAF Service After Desert Storm A TMF Rebuilt project This mod represents the phinal years of the Photo Phantom n USAF service. It includes a new RF-4C_91 model that features Sidewinder missile capability. While only a couple dozen RF-4Cs were wired for AIM-9 carriage, they served in the Alabama and Nevada Air National Guards while they did. Therefore, I placed the skins for those units in the _91 model's folder Required a functional copy of any Strike Fighters 2 game except for SF2 North Atlantic (the only one without a native F-4 destroyed model) The aircraft from the TMF Rebuilt RF-4C Late set, available here: https://combatace.com/files/file/18263-late-model-rf-4cs-photo-phantoms-after-vietnam/ (if you already downloaded this then you dont need to do it again) Included 3 RF-4C aircraft folders - RF-4C_85: skins only (12th RS, 173rd RS Nebraska ANG) - RF-4C_91: new aircraft with several Nevada and Alabama skins, and Sidewinder capability. Photo flash bays restricted to one or the other to make room for this capability, but photo flashes were not used as much in the phinal years. - RF-4C_ARN_101: skin (12th RS) and data_ini adjustment (extends years to 1992 from original 1990) 2 decal folders NOTE: most weapons, pilots, effects and sounds are already included in the original Rebuilt set. only AIM-9s for the _91 are included here Credits -The Mirage Factory the very original aircraft (see TMF Readme) -ravenclaw_007 original model, RF-4 pit -Sundowner further modifications to model and pit, effects for new photoflash bombs -daddyairplanes skins, tgas, multiple ini edits, creation of 4 distinct aircraft from one model -guruu sounds -NightshadeP/R testing. Nightshade often shows me my errors in screenshots he's just sharing for fun, while Menrva helps me with the more technical aspects -Sundowner, ravenclaw_007, yakarov79 and daddyairplanes templates are a mix of layers as contributed by these four. compiled in current form by daddyairplanes Special Thanks * to Sundowner for supporting this project. He was kind enough to hand me this ball and let me run with it and even make additional features as I requested them * to ET Brown, Gary Chambers and other members of the 106th Tac Recon Squadron page on Facebook. These Alabama Air Guardsmen veterans helped greatly and the "106th RS 94" skin features the crew chiefs on the nose just as the real aircraft had in the final 6 months. About The Mirage Factory Rebuilt Back in the early days of Wings Over series modding The Mirage Factory, lead by bpao was the peak of modding excellence. Many of their models are still heavily in use today, 15 years later and still amongst the very best. This despite the team not creating any new mods since the passing of Oliver Anguille in 2009. But time does move on, and the next generation of modders have ideas, techniques and tools not available back then. With the help of some of the original modellers (who have copies of the original max files) we can update these fine aircraft for the 2020s. Rebuilt for new terrains and campaigns that were just hopeful wishes over a decade ago. The Mirage in the logo is camoflaged, much like the real aircraft in later service. The "HD" has been replaced with "Rebuilt" as what was HD in the 2010s is jsut standard today. Finally, the new logo thanks Oli, both for the aircraft that are still relevant today and for the inspiration he's given to the modders that followed him. On behalf of The Mirage Factory (original and rebuilt) I thank you for downloading this mod, and hope you enjoy it. thank you for downloading this mod, i hope you enjoy phlying it as much as i did creating it Kevin Unruh aka daddyairplanes 4 Oct 2024 ************************************************************* This is freeware; it CANNOT be distributed unless permissions are granted by myself. Hard mode: As World War Three erupts in September, 1979 and the Warsaw Pact breaks through the Fulda Gap, the New Jersey Air National Guard's 141st TFS receives Title 10 orders and deploys to Europe in their F-105Bs. (dear god help me I have no RWR)

The Strikemaster is essentially an armed version of the Jet Provost T Mk 5. Various improvements and alterations were made to the aircraft, including an uprated Armstrong Siddeley Viper turbojet engine, wing hardpoints capable of carrying a wide variety of munitions, a pair of machine guns under the intakes, uprated flap system with two jacks, enlarged airbrake jacks, new communication and navigation gear, different electrical system, canopy breakers on the ejection seats, and a revised fuel system including tip tanks on the wing tips. First flown in 1967, the aircraft was typically marketed as a light attack or counter-insurgency aircraft, however, the majority of customers were air forces seeking an advanced trainer. The Strikemaster did see combat on multiple occasions in the service of Ecuador, Oman and Yemen. A total of 146 aircraft were produced prior to the end of production in 1983. The type remaining flying into the 2020s, albeit with increasing difficulty due to a decreasing supply of spare parts over time. WHAT'S IN: - Strikemaster Mk80 Saudi Arabia (47 planes) 3 skins - Strikemaster Mk81 South Yemen ( 4 planes) 1 skin - Strikemaster Mk82 Oman (25 planes) 2 skins - Strikemaster Mk83 Kuwait (12 planes) 1 skin - Strikemaster Mk88 New Zealand (16 planes) 2 skins CREDITS: - russouk2004: original model - pappychksix: all skins - paulopanz: decals, hangars, screens, drop tanks paint, skins little editings, ini dance, packaging etc etc. TO INSTALL: - put all in your main mod folder and overwrite NOTE: TW simulations allow us to add proper historical serials, numbers, letters and nose arts to each plane. Best models with serials, numbers and letters painted on textures for me are a real waste. All planes (as black cats at night ...) are the same ... So our friend Pete allowed me to make decals (I have a real decals factory yet ...) for his great skins and this is the final product. I think that outstanding Russo's plane really needed this work to shine. I hope you like this pack, as I liked to buid this up. If Pete will skin Mk84, Mk89 and Mk90 (with his own super templates) too I'll be glad to add them. If someone'll tweak a better flight model I'll add too. Any improve'll be welcome. Aren't we a community? Enjoy! paulopanz@

This, and the owners of the original payware YAP site died years ago. I understand Gepard is hurt by the fact they monetized upon his free work, I'd also be furious about it in his place, but they're no longer with us, so it's pointless to beat a dead horse now. IIRC the old site is still up just for history, the store shouldn't be working anymore, the RW team should have removed links to the store. The RW team is comprised of end users who had bought YAP products in the past and now are updating them to SF2 for free. So when YAP monetized upon stuff that shouldn't have been monetized in the first place, the end-users also got screwed for paying for contents coming from freeware sources. I keep repeating myself, I think I explained several times that RW is unrelated to whatever wrongdoing YAP did in the past. I think it's time to move on. If people refer to the old SF1 version of YAP, Gepard has all the reasons to be angry at what they did. If it's about RW, Gepard can ask them to remove his works if he doesn't want them to be reshared outside of CombatACE. I see RW is pretty cautious about crediting like @daddyairplanes explained.
