2 pointsIt is only available from the Meta Quest store for the Quest 2 and Quest 3 series headsets. It was made using the "Unity" game engine, so they could port it to other platforms, but I doubt they will do that. It is similar to the free-to-play Strike Fighters android game (which is also available as a PC game), but it is VR only and flown from the cockpit. I don't see any way to see external views. A typical mission involves startup, takeoff, fly through a portal to get to the mission area, fly through some waypoints, accomplish the mission, fly through a portal to get to the turn onto final approach, and finally land. The clickable cockpits, startup, takeoff, and landing procedures give the game a simulator feel. But targets have generous hit boxes and 0.50 cal. MGs can kill most targets with ease. But the differences between attacking with rockets, bombs, and guns are fairly well modeled. The bombsight is basically CCIP and the bombs usually detonate well after you have flown past the target, so bombing is much easier than it should be. Dogfights are not that much different than F-86 vs MiG-15 in DCS World: the AI can extend at will in a climb or hit the brakes to make you overshoot. Because I have already learned how to deal with this type of AI in DCS, I do fairly well. I finally earned enough money with the T-33 and F-80 to get the F-86. Now I want to save up enough for either the F9F-2 or the FJ-3.

1 pointYes, it's only for Meta Quest. We certainly can't compete with DCS, etc. so we decided to make the "best possible" air combat game we could using the Quest hardware.

1 pointHeyo, first time messaging here but i think this is quite disappointing because I got into SF2 last year after a few friends recommended it for me and i had a lotta fun with NATO Fighters, ODS and some other mods. Its a shame that this happened but its fair enough after reading about the reason behind it. Wish there was some other way and I will definitely be keeping an eye of Combatace but I can't justify another subscription. Thanks for extending the amount of fun i had with SF2 and I hope you all the best in the new year, hopefully you will find another way to let people like me who wont pay for a subscription download mods but yea. Godspeed everyone and thanks again for the mods 07.

1 pointI'm not from Michigan but the suburb neighborhood tiles feel right at home. So many easter eggs could be placed on this map too. Don't suppose there's a cargo ship that looks close to a lake freighter?

1 pointThis sim looks very interesting. Is it only for Meta Quest? Any chance to use it through SteamVR? I am sorry to ask this but I don't know so much about VR. I have an HP Reverb since years and happy with them.

1 pointHello everyone, It have been a great new year day and eventualy got a chance to work on mods today; This time I am re-working on the optional accessiblity system to make more noticable and can be noticed easily. When switching to IRM, the inner circle will appear as red. And when lock is achieved, it will move to enemy aircraft telling that IRM is ready. Any thoughts on the new system? I am applying it on the rest of aircraft for next alpha version of mod. Eagle114th

1 pointAlso, here's the citation for his Distinguished Flying Cross. He also had a Navy/Marine Presidential Unit Citation probably from this same mission, two USAF Presidential Unit Citations, Outstanding Unit Award (2 X), Air Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Readiness Medal, NDSM, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Gallantry, Armed Forces expeditionary, and Expert Marksman. Nerdy little guy about 5'6" tall. Very quiet and self-effacing. And apparently a steel-balled badass of a navigator. That was the day the NVA broke through the wire at Khe Sanh.

1 pointThis is a decent flight sim for a VR headset game. The graphics are similar to 1999/Falcon 4.0 but with anti-aliasing making it prettier. Make no mistake, it is a game. But the cockpits look decent and the flight models are not totally arcade.

SF2 Tu-16 Badger Pack by Pasko 11/1/2024 -For SF2, Full 5 Merged REQUIRED. Must Have SF2:NA!!!!!) -Another 1stGen Salvage Operation- This is a revamp of Pasko's Tu-16 Badger(s) from SF1 to SF2 "standards". This package contains the 3 variants of the Badger he and his team created 'way back in 2005. As stated above, a full-5 merged install is required; or at =LEAST= having SF2:NA in the merged install. This is because the Cruise Missile versions use the stock 3W cruise missiles (Although I've supplied the early versions). The 3 aircraft included herein are ... Tu-16 Badger-A (free fall bombs only) Tu-16K-10-26 Badger C (cruise missiles only; 1 centerline, 2 wing mounted) Tu-16G Badger K (2 cruise missiles, wing mounted only) A cockpit is supplied for each, with a working bombsight for the standard bomber. (See notes about the issues flying bombers in SF2). All weapons, execpting the KS-1 & KSR-2 missiles are stock 3W items (FAB, RBK, K10S). All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. All new Hangar and Loading screens have also been included, for you enjoyment. The aircraft are supplied with a number skins for the varying Air Force users. Some (re)use their original 1stGen decals, with a slight repaint to stop any 'fuzziness'. Many decals used (for Middle East and Soviet birds) are stock items. You'll get: Tu-16A: Soviet Silver Ukraine Silver (<1991) Egypt AF Silver (<1966) Iraq Silver (<1973) Indonesia Silver (<1961) PLAAF China Sliver (<1959) Iraq Green Stripe Camo (<1978)* Iraq Sand/Green Camo (<1980)* Tu-16C: Soviet Naval Aviation Silver (blue borts) Tu-16G: Soviet Naval Aviation Silver (blue borts) As indicated above, you can see the the SF2 "date switch" is active. The star (*) tagged above indicates these years are "best guess". When possible the original readme for all skins are within each skin folder, and notes are sometimes made on the textureset.ini. The PLAAF bird only gets 24 bort number decals, which are (hopefully!) historically correct and nearly the right color blue <grin>! Pilot figures are also included. For exact in-game usage for the C & G models, I'd suggest giving their data inis a looksee, as they have several Secondary Roles to fulfill. When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection Drop down you'll see: Tu-16 Badger-A (Pasko) Tu-16K-10-26 Badger C (Pasko) Tu-16G Badger K (Pasko) The (Pasko) differentializes these from the stock 3W Badgers (and any mods thereof). So you can't mistook them for anything other than what they is. As always fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. The 'Change Log' is of course, in the Notes section below. Good Hunting & Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein -
