I just want to drop a little thanks to all the mod makers here at CA. The last 2 weeks have seen a plethora (sp?) of new or imporved mods for the game. Been a long time since we've had so many 'all at once'. This will end the year on a high note for the community, even given what hells are happening around the world. Keep up the good work, everyone. Keep the faith Thanks Again!

Putting together some static aircraft terrain object packs, these can be permanently placed on airfields to complement the game generated parked aircraft. Besides the 737, 747, A300 and TMF 707, these are from freeware sources and I have re-mapped some of them to use the same textures of mods available here at CA for some skin re-usability and variety.

Fans of ThirdWire's Strike Fighters, I'm happy to announce an upcoming re-release of Operation Desert Storm: 30th Anniversary Edition, due between this December and next January (yet to be defined). Since the last public release in January 2022, the development team has worked in spare time for more than a year in overhauling the mod with brand new creations, tons of improvements and bug fixes, additional content and much more. Here below some sneak peeks at what's to come. With the intent of delivering the most complete Gulf War experience, players will now be able to fly with the three unique F-4G aircraft that were deployed to the conflict with Euro I camo (namely serial numbers 69-0269, 69-7566, 69-7234) and the only Grey colored F-111E (serial number 68-0050) deployed alongside the more common camouflaged F-111Es. F-4G aircraft 3d model and skins courtesy of @ravenclaw_007. To complement the already huge list of flyable aircraft offered by the mod, new aircraft have been added! Say hi to the wonderful, brand new Mirage F1EQ-5, Mirage F1EQ-6 and Mirage F1CR by @ludo.m54 and his Mirage F1 Team. Moreover, let's welcome a couple of two-seaters; the F-16D-40 Fighting Falcon by @ravenclaw_007 in its Bahraini livery (skins and decals by @Viper63a) and the F-5F available in Royal Saudi Air Force camo and Grey Bahraini livery (skins and decals by @paulopanz). I decided to allow players to choose from experimental camos devised before the Gulf War for some of the most known aircraft of the war. The A-10As are getting the experimental Flipper and Peanut camouflages (both were meant for the Gulf War, respectively for night time and day time missions) and the F-16C Block 25, serial number 84-1212, gets the unique desert camo it sported during Desert Shield, before it was later decided to remove it. These three new skins have been made by yours truly. The original Lizard camo for the F-16C Block 25 is from the Viper Team, it has been upscaled and detailed a bit more by yours truly, as a bonus. On the fun side of things, additional skins have been added to important aircraft of the war; these include prototype paint schemes for the F-117 and the F-15E, Iranian liveries for the F-5E, MiG-29, F-14A and F-4E, and the VX-4 black livery for the F-14A. These skins exist only for player use and won't be seen in normal gameplay during the campaign and single missions, so rest assured the mod won't be breaking any reality check by default. The F-117 skins are brand new and made by yours truly. Okay, so we get to see more variety and beauty in third-person view, but what about cockpits? Numerous cockpits have received a face-lift in the way of brand new textures, mapping fixes, recolouring, better calibrated and standardized HUD colors, corrected view-points and much more. The Mirage Factory's F-14A cockpit now takes the place of the stock one by ThirdWire which looked inappropriate for early 1990s Tomcats, alongside small texture improvements by yours truly. Cockpits for the F-15C, F-15E, RF-4C and for F-7s were revised by yours truly, given hi-res textures and/or proper recoloring for consistency's sake. The S-3 Viking is now flyable, with Foxmonter's original cockpit getting a fresh hi-res repaint by @Viper63a. MiG and Su cockpits received similar treatment by yours truly, and thanks to the works of @OlWilly and @michaelk. If you've had enough of the sky, do know that our master 3d modelers have been busy producing dozens of brand new 3d models for land and sea warfare. One huge, major update regards the Iraqi ground forces; @yakarov79 produced a vast number of brand new vehicles never seen in a flight simulator before; from exclusive Iraqi versions of known Soviet tanks to not-so common howitzers, proper Iraqi command vehicles, artillery units, APCs and more. The Iraqi ground forces have never been reproduced so accurately before, so you can be sure they are a real treat of the mod. Coalition units also got a high-definition treatment with brand new objects by fellow @guuruu, including the M270 MLRS, M102 and M110 howitzers; he also worked on brand new ship 3d models, from generic boats and bulk carriers and cargo ships, to the Iraqi Zhuk-class patrol boat. Moreover, he reworked all data and sound design of guns used by most ground objects; guns now feature unified warhead weight based on caliber and standardized light range and tracer size. Ground battles feel much more intense and gun-only dogfights now feel incredibly realistic, as you or the AI can survive multiple hits (whereas in stock Strike Fighters it's usually an unrealistic one-shot one-kill). The terrain has received noticeable improvements. All terrain objects have been given DetailLevel statements in order for them to be scalable depending on Ground Object graphics settings; this means that less important terrain objects will appear only at Medium, High or Unlimited settings as required. More importantly, Iraq got brand new airbase 3d models by @Jimbib accurately portraying the layouts of the time, alongside a proper Kuwait Int'l airport and Iran's Kharg island airport. Be on the look-out for easter eggs, especially at Iraq's Tallil Airbase. You'll be able to see @Jimbib's recreation of the Ziggurat of Ur, and you might find a bird by @guuruu inside one of the hangars, seemingly out of context. This actually is an historically correct easter egg; history aviation enthusiasts should know about it. There's also a not-so secret single mission available for you to experience. It's not Gulf War related, apart from the fact you'll be flying an F/A-18A of the VMFA-314 Black Knights. Mission date? July 4 1996. Hmm, what could it be? You can tell the amount of effort and passion that went into the mod by reading the complete changelog below. Still heavy travel days for me and appreciate Gepard’s incredible patience; happy to share I’m putting the final touches on the redux McDonalds model for him. Now we get to go from a “stand in” model to something more compelling. It was pretty fun working on this, acquired an excellent base model and then spent a lot of time detailing out with mesh enhancements and certainly texture work. Also, want to fully acknowledge up front all credit for the base figures goes to Geezer (I am grateful to be trusted with his source models, these I rigged up in new poses and textures). As-is often my problem, spent too much time dinkering around with adding in details...LOL. Anyway, should finish off soon, thanks Gep for your patience and allowing me to create this for you. I know I still owe you and several others updates on other requests and they are all still in-progress. From this: To this:

I've recently been asked how my Vietnam map is going... It's been a long time since I touched any of this, maybe one day I'll get the time to do a little more..... But this is a tiny fraction of what's been achieved so far... Everything you see is a Terrain Object, most with collision meshes etc, 99% is new build stuff with new textures etc all done by myself, all with distance lods where needed , all new runways/taxiways hard standings etc as most bases changed enormously during the course of the war. Most of the aircraft are in multiple versions for time frame etc, some have animated props just for eye candy. Vehicles.....way too many types & variations . Lots of thinking "outside the box" to get things to work as I'd like them to .... Very few if any TW original items are now used. Will it ever get finished ?? very unlikely.

F-4G final version , arresting hook is now done and mapping and template is complete , next i have to bring all F-4E´s , F-4F´s and F-4G´s to the same standard and change all number 1 skins aircraft has now a lod size from 8,33 mb and the cockpit 7,70 mb , sofar i dont have any major issues with the FPS slow down i´m on win7 , CPU i7-4790k , 32 Gb Ram and a ASUS Strix Rog 1070 Ti with 8192 MB GDDR5 SDRAM so it is a old computer who still runs perfect FPS based on a heavily modded GermanyCE terrain from Rents are between 40 to 69 FPS

yap , the skin for the GPU-2A is almost done , still a problem are the many rivets i have to add i will have a lot of problems if i add them to the texture especially at the conical front part , if i add the rivets as 3d parts it will be a lot and increase the lod size quite a bit so still some problems to be solved

F-CK-1 Ching-kuo (IDF) Multirole Fighter Jet by UllyB November the 21th 2023/ver 1.0.1 **************************************** The Taiwanese Ching-Kuo Fighter is developed and manufactured by the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation based in Taichung. The aircraft is also referred to as the Indigenous Defence Fighter (IDF). The Ching-Kuo is an all-weather, multi-role fighter and is built in one-seater and two-seater configurations. Ching-Kuo fighter programme The programme to develop the aircraft, known as the An Hsiang or Safe Flight programme, started in 1982 with identification of the requirements for an air-superiority fighter. The rollout ceremony of the first prototype took place in December 1988, when the aircraft was named after the late President Chiang Ching-Kuo. The Ching-Kuo made its first flight in May 1989. Ching-Kuo air superiority fighters are operational in the RoC Air Force of Taiwan (Republic of China) since January 2000 and the last of a total of 130 entered service in July 2000. AIDC has developed an upgrade package which includes a digital cockpit, upgraded radar and countermeasures. BAE Systems supplied the new 32-bit digital flight control computer. Two F-CK-1 prototypes were upgraded to F-CK-1 C/D in 2006. The upgraded C/D aircraft made its first flight in October 2006. It was renamed as F-CK-1 C/D Hsiung Ying (Brave Hawk) in 2007. Other improvements in the upgrade package included increased internal fuel capacity, improved avionics, renovated electronic warfare capabilities and strengthened landing gear. Production of the C/D version began in 2009 as part of the $588m Mid Life Upgrade (MLU) programme. AIDC will upgrade the initial 71 of 130 IDFs under the MLU programme. The first batch of six upgraded F-CK-1 C/D IDFs were delivered to the ROCAF in June 2011. The remaining 65 were delivered at the end of 2012. *********************************************** FCK-1 also known by you, by now, as COMMUNITY MOST WANTED is the first project here that was decided after a democratic vote of community members. I decided to let community vote what type of plane would wish to be built as a sign of appreciation and respect for it. This project had a bumpy start. We lost the 3D Max guy after two weeks.Things went so bad that I saw no other way out than to close the shop. Then GKABS offered to help and bought a 3D model from the market. He and his team offered to take over the project but they had to postponed it before because of their current projects at that time. Then I had a long talk with my old friend and veteran Logan4 who, miraculously offered to help and he gave me a reason to resurrect the project and put it back on tracks. We built a small team and we proceeded forward. As one said it, I owe him one for that. Logan4 had an utmost contribution to this very project.Truth is that Logan4 and his exceptional character and altruism saved the project and I thank him for that deeply.
