SF2 WW2 FAA Seafire Mk.IIIC Pak by Cocas Aircraft Factory & Co 9/25/2014
-- Something for the WW2 Fleet Air Arm players --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*Note: this is designed for use in a PTO mods folder built from the SF2NA exe, as it has the proper carrier coding.*
The package contains a =NEW= Seafire Mk.IIIC as issued to Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm squadrons in WW2.
Skin(s) included with the package are:
Royal Navy
No. 894 NAS, BPF, embarked on HMS Indefatigable in 1945
All markings are decals and Decal Randomization is TRUE. Damage textures are in DDS format.
The canopy operates via the Standard Animation Keystroke , Shift/0. Wingfold is operated also with the SAK, Shift/9. Guns also grouped, MGs in Group 1, the cannon in Group 2.
Pilot figure, engine sound, and a 'new' drop tank are included, as are "box art" style Hangar and Loading Screens. Guns and bombs are not included, as these are the standard WW2 British types.
The template is included for other Texture Artists to use (and to correct any of my mistakes) You'll find it in the folder marked "extras". This template also works on the CAF Spitfire Mk.Vs & Seafire Mk.II as well.
When in game, you'll see:
Seafire Mk.IIIC (CAF)
on the aircraft selection dropdown menu. This will diferentiate =THIS= Seafire from any others you may (or may not) have.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them.
Good Hunting!

“The Senkaku Conflict” is a set of 11 single player missions in which you fly as a member of the JASDF (Japanese Air Self Defense Force) against the Chinese in a limited, regional conflict. The missions form a 'linear' style campaign experience with the aid of an included briefing book. I've been frustrated by SF2's campaign mechanism and wanted to put out mission packs that tell a bit more story and are a bit more immersive in nature, rather than letting the game's campaign code just generate mission after mission with no real sense of continuity or panache.
The premise of the missions is a gradually escalating dispute between Japan and China in October of 2014. While the conflict is fictional of course, the dispute over the Senkaku Islands is quite real and has the potential to turn into an actual flashpoint in the eastern Pacific. Some of the facts behind the conflict are mentioned in the Intelligence Overviews in the Mission Brief Book.
A full explanation of all facets of the mod is included in the README file in the zip file. That is the place to start for a full description of the mission pack, as well as information on required mods needed to play.
The Senkaku Conflict Mission Brief Book is included in the zip file in .pdf format. You'll need adobe acrobat reader in order to use the briefing book- I don't expect that will be a big issue for anyone here. The briefing book for this mission pack is what ties the missions together and tells the 'story' of what is happening and why. Unlike some of my other mission packs this 'campaign' does not branch, so the briefing book is somewhat simpler than in other mods where I've used the concept. A full explanation on the use and purpose of the briefing book is included in the README file.
Enjoy!

In the 1980s, 12 BAE Hawk T.Mk. 60/60As were purchased for the Air Force of Zimbabwe; the purchase was supported by a GB £35 million loan from the UK to Zimbabwe. The Hawk deal also included the transfer of a number of second-hand Hawker Hunters. In July 1982, at least one Hawk was destroyed on the ground and three more heavily damaged during a dissident attack on Thornhill air base, Gweru.
Zimbabwe's Hawks were used during the Second Congo War. Numerous airstrikes were conducted in support of the Congolese Army against Rwandan, Ugandan and rebel forces in 1998–2000. In 2000, the controversy over Zimbabwe's military intervention in the Congo and poor human rights record led to Britain imposing a total arms embargo on the nation, including spare parts for the Hawk. Due to the embargo, Zimbabwe has purchased six Chinese Hongdu K-8s as a substitute.

A companion mod to Operation Nordic Storm (Nordic Storm is not required to play this). This is a pack of 19 single missions designed and written to form a slightly branching campaign experience with the aid of an included briefing book to guide you through the process. I've been frustrated by SF2's campaign mechanism and wanted to put out mission packs that tell a bit more story and are a bit more immersive in nature, rather than letting the game's campaign code just generate mission after mission with no real sense of continuity or panache.
The mission pack is basically the land war happening in Germany before, during, and slightly after the events of Operation Nordic Storm. It's still WWIII in Europe, essentially, set in 1991. The premise is based on Tom Clancy's "Red Storm Rising", and although it doesn't follow it exactly, much of the scenario driven verbage in the briefing book will be familiar to fans of the novel.
A full explanation of all facets of the mod is included in the 'README first!' file in the zip file. That is the place to start for a full description of the mission pack, as well as information on required and recommended mods needed to play. None of the required mods were altered in any way by me, and all credit and kudos go to the mod authors for their work.
The War Plan Tripwire Briefing Book is included in the zip file in .pdf format. You'll need adobe acrobat reader in order to use the briefing book- I don't expect that will be a big issue for anyone here. The briefing book is what allows you to play a string of 'single missions' as a branching 'campaign,' as well as go beyond the game's often-simplistic definitions of success and failure for various mission types. A full explanation on the use and purpose of the briefing book is included in the WPT README file.
Upcoming projects similar to this one will include a short conflict fought between China and Japan over some territorial rights, and a fictional future conflict involving the US and an Iran deeply in cahoots with the Russians. Enjoy!

In January 1978, Britain and Finland announced a deal to in which the Finnish Air Force was to receive 50 Hawk Mk. 51s in 1980; these aircraft were built in Finland under licence by Valtion lentokonetehdas. The Finnish Air Force was limited to 60 first-line fighter aircraft by the Paris Peace Treaty of 1947; by acquiring Hawks, which counted as trainers rather than fighters, capacity could be increased while continuing treaty compliance. These conditions were nullified at the break-up of the Soviet Union.
Seven additional Mk. 51As were delivered in 1993–94 to make up for losses. In June 2007, Finland arranged to purchase 18 used Hawk Mk. 66s from the Swiss Air Force for 41 million euros; they were delivered in 2009–2010. Finnish Hawks have reportedly been armed with Russian Molniya R-60/AA-8 air-to-air missiles. The Finnish Air Force aerobatics team, the Midnight Hawks, also uses the aircraft.
Due to rising levels of metal fatigue, 41 out of 67 in Finland's total Hawk fleet will be taken out of service between 2012–2016; the remaining aircraft are younger and thus are expected to be flying into the 2030s.In 2011, Finnish Mk. 51s and Mk. 66s underwent upgrades, including a new Patria Cockpit 2000 glass cockpit and new software.
