2 pointsthose entries with the ".fx" names were added to SF2 and FE2 to support DX10. When bringing something over from SF1/Wo*/FE1, one needs to add the shader and material statments to the effects ini. OTH, locating updated or SF2/FE2 effects might be easier! (I"m lazy! )

1 pointThat seems to have done the trick, I added "EffectShaderName=xxxxx.fx" to all the [xxxxMaterial] sections for all the .ini files under the effects folder you sent me. Now I see the fires, smoke and tracers in all their glory :) The bad news is that just last night, as things were looking up, the z axis of my flight stick decided to stop working... its a logitech extreme 3D pro (they are cheap, and have had it for at least 7 years...). The rudder is now not centered, planes lean left, and does not go fully to the right. Anyway, makes it challenging. I was just gonna buy the same one on amazon, since they are 35 bucks only. But, I thought since you guys have been so helpful, maybe you would have a good recommendation. Any suggestion gents? Thanks!

So, as a result our ability to give you super detailed Developer Diaries is diminished a bit. However, we have the first shots of our American P-47D-28 “Jug” in the engine. 1 pointIn the most usual way. Unzip and copy all files into your Objects/Pilots folder. The folder names are the names of the new pilots. Putting the pilots into a plane: Open the plane's DATA.ini file. Find the section for crew (about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down). Change the PilotModelName to the name of one of the new pilots. Save the file and fly. True, there is one difficulty: you have to manually change the pilot's seat position in the DATA.ini of each aircraft. 1 pointFor those enjoying the new fire and smoke effects with the ver. 9.5 FM update pack, you will notice that sometimes balloon explosions give no smoke or fire, sometimes a small trail of smoke, fire, etc., and sometimes a bigger fiery explosion (as historical...balloons would sometimes not even light up when punctured and destroyed, although not frequently). If you prefer the larger, more consistent explosions for balloon fire of previous FM version packs, they can be found in the large, consolidated ver. 8.9 folder - but I am also including them below for convenience. BELL AH-1S(ECAS) COBRA Ver 1.9 for SF2 March 2016. This is a third party add on of the AH-1S(ECAS) / E Cobra using models and cockpits created by me. AH-1E was Step 2 upgrade program of Army Cobra. This variant was originally known as the „Up-Gun AH-1S or AH-1S(ECAS) – Enhanced Cobra Armament System. In this model Army Cobra featured the three -barell 20mm M197 automatic cannon mounted in XM97 universal turret. The AH-1E also featured an improved rocekt management system for 2.75 inch rockets, an improved sighting system, and a more powerful electrical generator to support all new systems. It has new 2nd version of flat plate canopy with bulged side glass panels. 98 new-built AH-1Es were delivered in 1978 and 1979. This was used only by US Army and NG. Plus six in basic configuration was ordered by Israel. Israel upgraded E to its own version of F model it will be part of different pack. Small changes in pit insturments compared to S(Prod) For take off: Around 75% of throttle vector - and then increase power to 70-85% (or more for quick lift) and pull controll stick little and snake will take off. Then reduce throttle vector as needed and reduce power to 69%. It should fly around 110kts now. 69% is about cruising speed. When on the ground you can see rotating blades for pitch and roll. Just additional and unnecesary thing (not visible so much when flying) but it is possible so it is there. Not working like i want but better then nothing. There are two different pylons on inboard stations one for rocketpods one for gunpods. Just to have a proper angle of fire with GP. It is not proper for real model but in my opinion best what can be done for SF engine. Rocket pods are ok with correct angle on inboard stations. NVG. Unfortunately there is no NVG in this game. I just added green "filter" to cockpit and you can activate it by default Animation 1 key. In external view ther will be little change in cockpit- unfortunately not moving with pilot/guner head. In copit view there is green glow and filter It is definitely not helping during night flight but this is beta version. Maybe one day real nvg will be possible here. If you dont like it disable it in cockpit.ini file. This feature apears only in National Guard 85 model and bonus, Skins: One generic carc green skin for three units. Not much individual paintings here. 1st Sq(Air),17th Cav. 82nd CAB. 1978 B/1-123rd Avn Brig,7th Inf.Div 1989.'Just Cause' 4th Squadron "Longknife Squadron" 3rd ACR. All serial numbers are proper for S(ECAS) / E model but am not sure if these numbers appeared in specific units. some seiral are taken from available photos and are matched to units. Some are just placeholders but are correct for model block buid. Weapons. Most of the weapon are same as in previous packs and are common to G/Q/S/P model. Including XM158 and M200 launchers. TOWs BGM-71A/B/C/D. There is additional optional Suppressed Exhaust loaded via weaponstation. Also here there is new M197 automatic cannon loaded via weaponstation. One more thing. I am using mostly standard weapon effects. Make sure to edit it your way if you decide to use this weapons. Pilots: I am using helopilots by OldDiego. A model never received aux fuel tanks and were used until 1992. At the end of service mostly by reserve units. D model /early/ was used also until around 1992. Not every D model was upgraded so in this config they were flying until the 90s. CHANGES: I highly recommend to overwrite previous files decals/weapons/guns- or best is delete the old one and put new files. YOU NEED TO DELETE OLD AIRCRAFT FOLDERS CH-53A and CH-53D_70. Many things were changed and as tested Overwriting may cause some problems...So delete old ones put new ones. The rest (except Aircraft folders) are same you can be overwrite without fear... Small changes in ini files, corrections on fuel loadout, changes in cockpit ini. Small changes in skins. Also No longer fake weapon "no gun" is needed - thanks to The Trooper. He pointed small fix in data.ini. Added simple bump and specular maps. Also added damage tgas. Some changes and rearrangement in the cockpit ******************IMPORTANT****************** FAkePilot mod neede to run this mod. As always. This addon works with my CargoPACK (included in rar file). All of the weapon stations are made as specific station code and will work only with this cargo pack. Of course, you can edit and use any other weapons available. Standard commands: LANDING GEAR - Nose light deploy/retract at any speed. ANIMATION 1 - right side hatch and door. ANIMATION 2 - left hatch cabin windows ANIMATION 3 - wipers outside/inside Parking animations. Two parking animations included one for 'on land base' and other for 'on board' parking. Im including two vessels moded as USMC nation.(same as in AH-1J pack) so you can practice start and land. Those ships have moded catapults, deck and arresting cables in data.ini file. Those ships are limited only to those used during Vietnam War on WestPac/SEA cruises. You can fold tail and rotor by enabling animation in data.ini file. But it looks silly. And my intention for this animation was eye candy on board vessel. With little practice, you can even hoover. Without fake flaps and airbrakes. Important here to control is using rudder and vector thrust control. With heavy cargo load probably you need little run on A model as engines on A are little underpowered. Normally throttle vector control on 88-89 degree increase power 70% then slowly more and more, wait and it will take off. It is possible to land on board two included ships. don't forget about a hook. Cockpits. One cockpit based on NATOPS manual, an early model for both A and early D model. Both models are similar. The only difference is in engine power. D model is 'stronger' so it's easier with heavy loadouts. And only D can tow 'experimental' Mk105 minesweeper. Skins. All serial numbers are based on available photos, and USMC documents and are historically correct. Weapons. The only "offensive" weapon is left/right side gunner. Well, it is a quite defensive weapon. Ah.. there is Napalm barrel bombs. Used in Vietnam War. Inside _WingsOverVietnam_Only Addon Folder ...BOOM. Cargo loads. I am releasing this cargo load in current condition. So maybe some skins needs to be adjusted. Cargo loads include few cargo crates for cargo bay and hook, howitzer, MUTTs. Skins for MUTTS - Thank yo The Trooper. in 1973 USMC joined NAVY in operation End Sweep and equipped their D model (HMH-463 only) with minesweeping stuff. So here you can "tow" Mk105 minesweeper. It is just interim mk105. V.2 is under development. To see Mk105 open cargo bay. IMPORTANT - Due to construction of this mod it is better to use collision and landing on NORMAL setting. On hard, you may have some complications on airfield - especially with underslung cargo load. Countermeasures. I've deleted Countermeasures from weapon loadout. Skins. All serial numbers, as far as I know, are based on photos and US Army docs and are historically correct. CH-53A in Vietnam used by HMH-463 and HMH-361. In mid-80s A model was still in use by some units. One of the last unit to use CH-53A was HMH-772 until 1992 when they send A to AMARC. Also in mid-80s ( I believe it was in middle or late) US Navy composite squadron VC-1 was using old ex-marine CH-53A until 1992 when they send them to AMARC. I think they were using only these two aircrafts. CH-53D Few paintings fro different years, early green early 80s green and tri-color mid-80s. HMH-361, HMH-362, HMH-461, HMH-461 - two schemes one - 78 from a trip to Japan and one 1973 during Operation End Sweep. Pilots - best to use is OldDiego's pilots. This mod still needs some work. 1 pointAll ships that have a usable flight deck should have a separate flight deck LOD file stated in its data file. Sometimes you can cheat by using that statement alone (with no physical lod).
