5 pointsNice one! I'm really looking forward to that (and maybe new models of some other variants aswell). I once started a TA-4F in blender, but since I lack the skills, I could not proceed very well. If you're interested I can send, what I have...maybe it can save you some time.

1 pointThis bit of info might be of interest for all aircraft modders out there. I was testing the upcoming F-22 Raptor addon placed in my custom mod folder, and its custom aircraft sounds were played correctly. However, after placing the complete addon package inside a clean SF2 mod folder, the F-22's sounds ceased to be played accordingly (I mean, you hear some sounds, but they are nothing like they should be). After much investigation, it turns out this is due to the fact that my custom mod folder contained higher quality sound replacements for the stock SF2 sounds, such as JetBurner.wav, JetEngine.wav, Flaps.wav, Gear.wav, etc. It seems the game requires that a plane's custom sounds, such as F22Engine.wav and F22Gear.wav, match the same quality of the stock ones, JetEngine.wav and Gear.wav, for them to be played correctly. That is, if JetBurner.wav is 22050 Hz Mono (it is so in stock SF2, but a custom mod available here provides 44100 Hz replacements for all stock sounds: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/72280-strike-fighters-2-sounds/?tab=comments#comment-569500), F22Burner.wav must be 22050 Hz Mono as well, otherwise it won't be played as it is. Since I am using the mod linked above, my F-22 sounds with a frequency of 44100 Hz are played correctly. Without the higher quality replacement of stock sounds, as provided by that mod, I would have to degrade the quality of my sounds to the lower frequency of stock SF2 sounds. All of this info applies regardless if you're using a custom soundlist.ini, so take this into consideration when releasing aircraft mods. I don't want to degrade my F-22 sounds to 22050 Hz or even 11025 Hz in some cases, so I will provide the few needed replacements of stock sounds from that mod.

1 pointPretty sure this is covered in our ever ignored Knowledge Base (tm) AI planes made user flyable will always be rewritten back to AI-only as a matter of course when the game starts. You just simply have to make the main ini (ie: MiG-21MF.ini) read only. Of course, that is after adding all the cockpit bits and listing the inis..OTH, you won't be able to add any further skins to it, as it can't write to a read only (duh!)

1 pointView File Spanish Civil War, Airfield Vehicles Three vehicles which modders can add to airfields using the target.ini. I have included the data for the types.ini in the download. Ambulance - based on the 1932 Ford Model A panel truck. Starter Truck - based on the Soviet AS-1 starter truck, which was a Soviet built version of the Ford Model A. Crash Response Truck - loosely based on a variety of WW2 era RAF crash trucks. Each truck has a high and low poly LOD as well as a destroyed version. I have organized everything into folders for convenience, but you'll need to take them out of the folders when you install them. 1 pointHard to believe, that after 10 years there is to me still something worth a download for the F-4 Phantom But I did... and I am having some fun with it. Thank you!

1 pointNope new installs will wipe it clean. there's a section about it in the Knowledge base. Condensed down: rename ALL mod folders (ie: xStrikeFighters2) uninstall all previous versions of the game. really run the installer for each (ALL) this must be done for all game exes, AND any DLCs start each game individually, to allow the engine to build the seperate mod folders Then, you can copy/paste any and all mods from your 'backed up' mods folders to the new ones. if you've done it right, all should work (excepting perhaps, the campaign cusomizer, unless it IS the July 2013 version. if not, you'll have to get the latest/last one)

1 pointChivalry? To kill a man, then make a ritual out of saluting him - that's hypocrisy. They kill me, I don't want anyone to salute. ..... They probably won't
