Thank you, Stephen1918, for another great WWI model! While I can't hit anything with them, the M17s with their grenade rack look and work great. Now I'll have to learn how to paint it to look like the CL.IV just down the road...

I have uploaded the Halberstadt CL.II (still awaiting administrator approval.) The download includes a hex camo skin, some decals, a fully functional cockpit, and a loadout for the grenades. My skinning templates are included. The Halberstadt CL.II was used in large numbers on the Western Front during the last year of the war. It was originally intended to be an escort for reconnaissance planes, but its speed and maneuverability made it good fighter. It was also used extensively as a ground support plane. My thanks to Ojcar for making the FM and for making some improvements to the guns. My thanks also to Nixou for making the sound for the Mercades D.III engine.

There's something in the water in LV and this guy is a wack job. I've seen nav lights all my life and those are nav lights from a rotor wing aircraft. You only have to ask yourself one question, why would an alien craft have high visibility FLASHING navigation lights in our green, white, red configuration? Maybe they just want to blend in with the other aircraft in our skies? What a fekkin idiot. Look at that there's a ball on top of his body and I don't think anything is hanging on to it! Holy whiskers batman we've been fished like a cat.

Simply put, it more fucking trouble than it's worth, to bring it to SF2 standards. It's 1stGen, and there it remains

i dont have any main parts of YAP, but have been reading these forums and talkin to modders for a few years now. to the best of my understanding, there is no overall fix for the whole product. each individual part needs to be adjusted, and some things just dont translate (air to air refueling being the biggie off the top of my head). the objects of greatest interest can be upgraded per the usual methods. other parts can be substituted from SF2 items (terrains, campaigns single missions) finally, as with everything, the modders work on what is of interest to them. YAP doesnt have the best reputation amongst some of the older heads around here for various reasons (my personal one being many models and skins for payware are below what i expect from here in house freeware. if im paying for it, it should be better than the free). it does have many things that are not available (ie F-100F) and is an excellent add on for Gen1. But the interest is not as great to get it all into Gen 2 from the modders (esp the old school ones) im not so sure that there is as few modders as implied, but those of us actively releasing has dwindled. there are plenty of ways to get into it without even spending too much dough. GIMP will create jpegs and tgas just as well as Photoshop, and with Mues exporter one can use Blender instead of 3ds max 2009 (which is a pain to find a legal copy of). As always it boils down to time and willingness. but we all got started somewhere

Hans Zimmer worked on the music score, a man that can suck every emotion out of a scene with every note. The movie might be 'ehhh but go for the music being put to screen, it's sure to be a hit.

YAP3 was intended for WoV and was developed within the limits of it. If there's anything you should do first is try it on WoV on a preferably Win7 operating system. Why on WoV? Because it is the base of the YAP3 work and any support that should be received is from it being tested on its intended base. Trying outside of it will definitely come with unwanted odds and it will be up to the customer to respond for those outcomes.

View File Halberstadt CL.II The Halberstadt CL.II was a German, 2 seat fighter/escort plane. The CL.II was designed to be an escort for reconnaissance flights. Its excellent maneuverability made it a match for single seat fighters and its field of fire made it an excellent ground attack plane. It entered service in August 1917 and was used in large numbers until the end of the war. The Halberstadt CL.II had a plywood fuselage and was powered by a six-cylinder Mercedes D.III engine. It had a 7.92mm Spandau machine gun in the front fuselage for the pilot and a 7.92mm Parabellum gun on a ring mount for the observer. It could also carry a light bomb load. My version has a rack for 10 stick grenades mounted on the fuselage. My download includes a hex camo skin, appropriate decals, and a fully functional cockpit. My skinning templates are included with the download. I have included a sound file for the Mercedes D.III engine. The same sound has been used with other planes and you may already have it installed. I have included the sound file with the download in case you don't have it. Credits My thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Halberstadt CL.II and for making improvements to the guns. My thanks to Nixou for making the sound file for the Mercedes engine many years ago. Installation Instructions For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "HalberstadtCL2" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. If you don't already have it, move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" from my "Sounds" into your "Sounds" folder. For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "HalberstadtCL2" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "HalberstadtCL2." Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/HalberstadtCL2 folder into the Decals/HalberstadtCL2 folder you just made. If you don't already have it, move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" from my "Sounds" into your "Sounds" folder. If you don't have a Sounds folder, you can make one. Back in 1997, I climbed up on the XB-70 landing gear so that I could touch it's skin. I saw the N9 fly around 1996-1997 as well.

The FA-18 has always been capable of pulling 90 degrees of AoA and recovering. Not quite as good as the Su-27's 120-130 degrees, but certainly outstanding by any measure. However, the flight control system isn't programmed to permit it. It is a risky flight regime that is pretty much worthless in combat. The pitch authority of the Hornet in a combat environment is still one of the best beyond the F-22 and F-35. You don't need a "cobra" to fire an AIM-9X.

Personally speaking I think Stephen 1918 would make a good job of this, If he had the time to take on the project and make it available here at Combat Ace.!!!! I have always rated his work for First Eagles as good quality mods.!!!

Well, flying in FE2 always brings the modding addiction out in me so I'm currently working on a mini, ver. 9.9 update of the FM pack before I tinker with my early WW2 install for SF2. Included will be the atmospherics tweaks posted above (as well as some subtle changes to clouds), also some more subtle changes to balloon explosions, for consistency, and lockout speeds will be included for control surfaces on the following early aircraft (Caudron, Taube, Longhorn, Shorthorn, HF.20, HF.20u, Pfalz E.I, MS type G 25/45/60hp, MS type H, MS L early one-seater, MS L early two-seater, Pfalz E.II, Pfalz E.III, MS type N, Fokk. E.Ia (Parabellum), Fokk. E.II (Spandau), Fokk. E.IIa (Parabellum), MS L late one-seater, MS L late two-seater). Will also include some tweaks to the AI for the Pfalz Parasol since it sometimes tries to climb too quickly, and aileron and rudder sensitivity have been further reduced on the Alb. D.II Oeffag. Should be enough for a mini-update. FM tweaks for the Snipe and some two-seaters that I've never touched on CombatAce will follow later in a bigger ver. 10.0 update. Von S Improved atmospherics Improved mesh numbers and other entries in the flightengine.ini (will provide a mid-range and higher-end flightengine.ini) - these tweaks are particularly good for sightseeing and expansive vistas More tinkering with balloon explosions Let's not forget the observer with parachute tweak for immersion
