OK, I started to shape it more like this, here is the latest rendition. Total balancing act though, trying to keep the poly count down while getting smooth corners/edges. Here's where I'm at so far; but to be honest I'm not totally happy with it for some odd reason. But maybe it's decent enough - just let me know what changes need to be done to it? Also, is the bend too sharp/angled - see render 2? P.S. just noticed the "notch" width in the horizontal stabilizer needs to be increased (made wider). Yeah, I'm kind of thinking the lower poly count is some of what's bothering me, for example here is a higher poly version.

OK, thank you all with special thanks to VonS for the info and diagrams, extremely helpful. I'm going to take each section at a time and once perfected move onto the next section. Let us start with the tail only for now. Please see revision. Is this better? What adjustments need to be made?

The RFC and French did fly a few 2 seater variants as well, so if you do mange to do a 2 seater, then we could use Stephens rifleman mod for his Taube .

Sorry about the previous vid, the bloody commentator had verbal gob poops !! Also that Bleriot is I think a replica, however it displays a different tail profile to the one you are thinking about, maybe it was just the early XI's that had the small rudder/stabiliser ? Anyhow heres another vid of the Shuttleworth Collection Bleriot, which is original, and is the oldest airworth aircraft in the world, although they dont actually fly it per se, rather they do a short hop down the runway, which is understandable really considering its historical significance. Also there are some nice views of the Anzani engine as well at the start of the vid. As a little treat I found this replica Taube as well, I know its unrelated to the topic at hand, however.....................

I know that someone of you guys are very excited with this kite, but it's useless in combat. No fixed guns. The pilot was fully exposed. Anyway it should be interesting to see how it flies.

I owe someone a favor, of which includes some help on some First Eagles support. While I am very constrained for time and not around as much, let me try to oblige your request if I can. Full disclaimer this is NOT my original model; it is a publicly available and permissible model that I have started to update and convert for use in First Eagles. Note I am out of my element and not knowledgeable in this genre, so will need some guidance if I were to continue this.

18 December 2020 Dear Fighter Pilots, partners and friends, Our Winter Sale 2020 has started and will run until the 11th of January. On Steam, the sale will start on the 22nd of December and end on the 5th of January. We are pleased to announce an additional ‘Free to Play’ period starting on the 22nd of December, giving you access to all aircraft and terrains from our e-Shop and Steam for two weeks. We have made improvements to the wear and tear of piston engines as well as the damage model by considering various loads and fractures to the main bearings that occur during flight, combat, and abusive engine management. We are now running Open Beta 2.5.6.59398, which is a really big update. Check out the full changelog; we hope you will be impressed. As this will be our last newsletter before Christmas, let us take this opportunity to thank you for everything you have done for us this year. Without your trust in our team, none of this would have been possible. We are so grateful. Please check out our 2021 and Beyond, you may notice a few cool things that we have in the pipe for you. Merry Christmas to you, your friends, and your families. Thank you for your passion and support. We hope that you will enjoy some well earned free flight time, and who knows, maybe also to fall in love with your next aircraft or terrain. Warbird Warriors Development Report Fighter engines, and in particular radial engines, are susceptible to master bearing overloads that require fine management skills and attention during operation. To prolong the service life, compliance with manifold pressure levels and RPM recommendations and limitations are mandatory. If not respected, you run the risk of serious engine malfunction, and you will probably be looking for a suitable emergency landing site in short order. If the engine is damaged due to poor management, or excess combat abuse, lowering the manifold pressure (or boost) and engine RPM will help keep the oil temperature within limits. With sufficient oil pressure, it should allow you to execute a controlled emergency landing. The DCS: Fw 190A-8 Anton and DCS: P-47D Thunderbolt now include these new algorithms for calculating and simulating the above, as well as the subsequent damages / failures to the engine. These aircraft represent our latest advancement in modeling, heating, cooling, aging, and damage to power plants and systems. This work will be extended to our older DCS World aircraft, and this will set the standard for all new warbirds coming to DCS World. Open Beta 2.5.6 Multicrew At last, and after a long gestation period, we have added multi-crew capabilities to UH-1H, with playable roles for all four crew members, to the next Open Beta. You can now have dedicated roles to fly and fight with two pilots and two gunners and interchange roles in flight. If the UH-1H does not have M-60 and M-134 minigun installed, you can fly as passengers. This offers a new level of gameplay that we plan to roll out to other platforms in the near future. The Hornet now includes the GBU-24A/B Paveway III laser-guided bomb. Auto IFF/CIT from the AZ/EL A/A page and AZ/EL FlIR Sublevel. Watch DCS: F/A-18C Hornet | Automatic IFF. A redesigned threat search algorithm for HARM for TOO mode has also been added. Read and watch the details DCS: F/A-18C Hornet | GBU-24 Paveway III. We have fixed the logic of the System Point of Interest (SPI) concept. Multiple other bugs have been fixed and new A/A Training Missions have been added to help you hit the ground running. The manual has also been updated. Watch DCS: F-16C Viper | Targeting Pod and Maverick Tips. This update to Open Beta 2.5.6 is our largest to date and includes the MBT T-72B3, SPAAG ZSU-57-2, and APC BTR-82A AI vehicles mentioned in recent news. For a more comprehensive list of updates and bug fixes, please check out the full list of changes. Once again, Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. Thank you for all for your passion and support, Kind regards, Eagle Dynamics Team

I have a feeling that these were hand built in about as many variations as you can count. If I may make a humble suggestion, try to save each time you change it. You probably can release about 10 different visual versions that would match at least one picture or diagram. I’ll be happy with any versions released. Thank you

OK, thank you for the info. Side note, there are literally several photos with varying degrees of discrepancy on the shape of the vertical stablizer/rudder - I am not sure which to follow! For example, Geezer's differs from what I see in some of the source photos, and some of the source photos differ from others...Here is another revision on the "new rudder" but I need guidance on which "version" to use and any adjustments you might like, please. Don't worry about any of the textures/UV Mapping for now, that will all be fine tuned later. Edit: Also side note, I noticed the horizontal stabilizer in many photographs had a "notched section" to accommodate the rudder. I made that adjustment as well in the model, please advise of any needed changes regarding that.

Have never had better trees or treelines in FE2 before tinkering with the alpha settings in the terrain data inis. A few more representative pics. below - will upload the relevant files in a day or two under my FM thread. Also, some observations regarding the "AlphaObjectTextureMaterial" entry of the terrain data inis (relevant for those of us on AMD vid. cards): // depthbuffercheck must be TRUE, otherwise trees visible through aircraft even when flying // depthbufferwrite must be FALSE, otherwise chopped and blocky trees and foliage artifacts // alphatestenabled may be set to FALSE for even more tree intersection and overlap, although I think it works adequately at TRUE // mipmap must be set to TRUE, otherwise small sparkling lights/flickering of trees and forests if set to FALSE Von S More varied spring/summer trees More types of conifers, firs, etc. Winter landscapes looking more robust, different trees outlining roadways, rivers, etc. Unrelated photo - to get a lighter-colored skin for the early Tripe by Stephen, open "Photos" in Win10, apply the "Sahara" filter, and re-save.

OK VonS, should be easy enough to sculpt into what you are looking for. I'll start with the rudder changes and post updates as things progress. Also, can you send me as a starting point the 45hp variant of the MS Type G you have in your FM package please.

The Emld N.28 also has a tweaked FM included in my large FM and realism pack for FE2. I did create a very similar FM for Geezer's N.28 too (located in the relevant package with Geezer's aircraft) - but there is something wrong with the prop. disc at certain rpms in Geezer's model - something that I can't fix unfortunately via data ini tweaks (I believe that Crawford tried fixing the prop. disc too but neither of us was successful with that). Anyway, the Emld N.28 is a very good choice. If this thread must turn into a (very humble) request list, the only one that comes to mind immediately is --- get ready for this one everyone --- the Bleriot XI (of whatever variant, but I particularly like the 45-hp Anzani or later 7-cylinder rotary type). That one has been vaporware for a while. Needless to say, and knowing myself how much time it takes to tweak things (let alone make models) - take your time fellow modders. Any new items for FE2 are greatly appreciated whenever they are released, but please don't burn out making the models. Thanks again Stephen for your excellent Tripehound variants - I'm getting close to finishing with my FM tweaks for the three variants and will post under the "Tripe Variants" thread when ready with those. Happy flying all, Von S NOTE: Those with excellent model-making capabilities are more than welcome to tinker with the N.28/28a in the package containing Geezer's aircraft, under the "New Aircraft" thread (p. 25). Maybe the only real problem with that model is that the tga files for fast and slow prop speeds need tweaking, and the dark disc problem (with the prop.) will disappear. Can't say anything more on that since I'm just a mere FM tweaker and ini file cruncher.

Emld has a very nice Nieuport 28 here: https://combatace.com/files/file/3962-nieuport-28-c1-v102-with-cockpit/ It has a fully functional cockpit and decals. v.Deutschmark also made some skins for it. https://combatace.com/files/file/4197-eddy-rickenbacker’s-n-28/ https://combatace.com/files/file/4196-douglas-campbell-n-28/ It looks like Geezer replaced one LOD in Emld's plane.
