5 pointsDecided to make a mission over North Korea and usually the flak is all around my plane but this time i got hit with pretty severe damage over the DMZ... Lucky enough, plane was still barely controllable and allied airfield was in sight A bit overspeed on approach but that way the plane was less drifting and barely responsive to controls. Put the airbrakes out to slow down at last moment And landed the wounded plane back. Only to see on the debrief screen that my pilot died... He should have sh!t himself out after all :)

2 pointsDepends on when you want to open that door. Via animation key or open due to some action. (Guess there is no animation linked to chaff/flare launch - I want to open chaff/flare bay on F-22 too...but. For some simple animations, i use control surface entry in data.ini here is F-22 gunport opening/gun rotation [gunrotate] SystemType=CONTROL_SURFACE GunTypeName=20MM_M61A2 InputName=FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN ModelNodeName=20MM_M61A2 RotationAxis=Y-AXIS MaxDeflection=7200 MinDeflection=0.0 MovingSurface=TRUE ControlRate=1.0 [gunport] SystemType=CONTROL_SURFACE GunTypeName=20MM_M61A2 InputName=FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN ModelNodeName=GunDoor RotationAxis=Y-AXIS MaxDeflection=48 MinDeflection=0.0 MovingSurface=TRUE ControlRate=6.0

2 pointsView File YB-40 Destroyer SF2 WW2 ETO YB-40 Destroyer by Veltro2K -- Something for the WW2 ETO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = This is the release of the YB-40 by Veltro2k, an extensively modified B-17F that was experimentaly used by the 8th AF as an escort placed with regular B-17 formations. The aircraft depicted here were those 12 used by the 92nd Bombardment Group (H), 327th Bomb Squadron based at RAF Alconbury. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Serial numbers and plane-in-squadron letter are 100% historical and are matched to their proper aircraft. 2 skins are supplies; the only difference is one uses the early 'star-and-ball' (pre-Sept 43). The other uses the 'star-and-bar' (post-Sept 43). Both skins are Olive Drab over Neutral Gray. The aircraft has less than a one year service life, nearly approximating the Real World (tm) usage. When in-game, you'll see YB-40 Flying Fortress (v2k) on the aircraft selection drop-down list. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Hunting! 1 pointWelcome to FE2 Dresam. The link Heck has provided is an excellent first-stop for info. on how to set up/install mods. for FE2 (and SF2) - since they both use essentially the same sim. engine. Main thing to keep in mind is that all mods. and user tweaks for FE2 go into the user directory for FE2 located in the "Saved Games" folder on Win7, Win10, etc., as follows: C:\Users\Yourusername\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2 Further sub-folders and files located inside there are as follows (Options.ini controls graphics settings, sim. resolution, etc., by the way; to tweak joysticks/keyboard commands manually instead of through the main in-sim menu, open the ini file located inside "Controls"): The "Effects" and "Flight" sub-folders contain most of the effects, also cloud types etc. (clouds and similar tweaks go into the "Flight" folder); you will also notice a "Soundlist.ini" file in the various mod packs available for FE2 - the "Soundlist" file is also located/should be placed into the "Flight" folder, etc.). The specific sub-folder where most, but not all, installations take place (installation of new aircraft and similar things) is the one named "Objects." Inside "Objects" you will find the following folders - if you are missing some folders, as indicated in the good link that Heck has provided - create those folders and then follow installation instructions indicated per mod. package. Individual aircraft folders go into "Aircraft," for example, decals for aircraft (if decals folders are provided) go into "Decals," ground objects such as ships, balloons, trucks, staff cars, etc., go into "GroundObject," and so on and so forth - in 99% of cases, installation instructions are included in "Read Me" files contained in the mod. packages available. My FM mod. packages contain extensive instructions in their "Read Me" files. For example, to create sub-variants of aircraft types not available to download as actual aircraft mods., make a duplicate of the aircraft folder specified in my long installation instructions/files, rename the "new" aircraft folder as indicated in the relevant instructions, and then move over/replace the files inside the new aircraft folder with the files I have provided, etc. The main three rules to keep in mind: a) create folders that are missing and that you require for a mod. to work b) always install files into folders, replacing/copying files, rather than folders-over-folders, since many mod. packages (such as my FM tweaks) only provide the relevant, tweaked files necessary to install (and not all files, for example, required for a particular aircraft - for that you need to download the relevant aircraft package first, before copying over tweaked files) c) if any oddities emerge with the user directory of your FE2 installation, place the main directory ("C:\Users\Yourusername\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2") onto your desktop, and then load FE2 again, so that a generic/stock user directory folder is re-created - and then begin the mod. installation process again Most mods. for FE2 can be found at this link: https://combatace.com/files/category/358-first-eagles-by-thirdwire/ Happy flying, Von S

1 pointbecause they are set in data ini as lights...remove lines at the very end of data.ini. and then they will not pop on ctrl+L - but they will be always enabled. Slimers are made in very different ways by different modders. Some will add them as lights as on F/A-18, some will add them as nodes with transparent TGA so they are quite dim/barely visible during the day and will illuminate during the night. Independently to standard position lights.

1 pointThis is from the SF2 Knowledge base, but it all applies to FE2, because both sims use the same file organization. This is the best place to start learning about how to add things to FE2:

1 pointDear friends, There will be a lot of Battle of Normandy news in 2021. Relatively soon we'll be able to show you the first landscape shots, while today we have some of the ground vehicles that are already done. Please note that the quality level for the new trucks, armored cars and other objects for Normandy has increased. Of course, the new objects will benefit from all the previously developed physics and AI improvements. Dodge WC-54 - while working on the Battle of Normandy we have decided to add the ambulance vehicle for the US Army that was missing in 'Bodenplatte'. This 3-ton all-wheel-drive vehicle was designed specifically for the US Army medical service. Austin K2/Y - you can tell the country of origin of this 3-ton military ambulance vehicle after a first glance. Of course, it is British. Ordnance QF 17-pounder - the famous British gun which was very effective in the anti-tank role in spite of its relatively small caliber. This gun, either in an AT gun form or installed on a tank gave good chances against German panzer beasts. Sd.Kfz.222 - this German all-wheel-drive 5-ton armored car with 3 men crew had a powerful weapon for its class, 20mm automatic gun KwK-20, and sloped armor. AMES Type 15 was a British made radar. SCR-584 was a US radar. Also on this screenshot are the British AA searchlight and its accompanying electric generator.

1 pointIt was first fitted to F-4J Blk 26-45 models which were the first production models in 1966, prior to that B models had bundle of chaff just shoved into the airbrakes just like the USAF did.

1 pointI know these screenies seem mundane, but they're all screenshots from one 9/18 campaign mission. I'm definitely having second thoughts about TK's AlbatrosC3? thing though. Have to look into that.

1 pointIf you were new to FE2, you'd have no idea the Albatros in the background is an add on aircraft. And you'd be wondering why you couldn't find it in your drop down list...
