Sikorsky AH-60L Arpia IV The UH-60L Arpía IV , also called simply Arpía , is a gunship helicopter developed by the Colombian Air Force , with Israeli advice from the UH-60L Black Hawk . As a result of the need for the Colombian Air Force to have a gunship helicopter as a means of deterrence against external enemies, the Arpía is essentially a UH-60L to which more equipment and weapons have been added both internally and externally.Currently, the Colombian Air Force has 12 aircraft. The Helicopter can fire Spike NLOS an Spike LR ATGM missiles, both in the inventory of the FAC, GAU-19 12.7 mm gatling guns, 70mm rocket pods. Thanks to @compufat for this idea and for making a texture to the M978. If you like it I will try to make some ejectment to the model to make it a fire truck like this one in the photo.

Today I uploaded the Nieuport 21. It was intended to be an escort and used a Nieuport 17 airframe with a smaller engine (to extend its range.) It was used by the French, British and Russians, and saw a lot of use post war. I have included two skins, a full set of decals, a fully functional cockpit, and my skinning templates. My thanks to Ojcar, who made the FM, which captures the fast climbing speed, but low power of this plane.

The machine gun issue is due to a moving gun being on top of another moving gun mount. Known issue with the game. I have tried fixing it by attaching the machine gun to the chassis with sacrificing, the accuracy of the machine gun position (you have to center it to the Turret). I did that witht the Chieftain-mk5 with success. But couldn't do it with the M-84 as it would really look totaly inaccurate. Maybe there's another way that I don't know of, but that's what I did.

Contents of the modification are the copyright of their respective authors. Notes about the installer Beware, the mod is available only in the ISO format. You can either mount it on a virtual drive, burn it on a DVD like in the good old days, or unzip it with 7-Zip or equivalent software. The installer will automatically detect your installation of the required Strike Fighters 2 games by reading through the registry keys. Game folders that are copied from or manually moved from where they were originally installed are not supported. You need all three aforementioned Strike Fighters 2 games and they must be installed with ThirdWire's original installers, not manually copied from other sources nor moved elsewhere after installation to other folders or drives. If you do not meet any of these requirements, installation cannot proceed and you are on your own. If you install all required games properly, the installation of the mod will proceed correctly as intended. The installer then lets you choose where to install the mod folder; you can even install the mod on a different drive or partition than the one where Strike Fighters 2 is installed. No further user input nor manual edits after installation are ever required; the installer takes care of creating all proper links to your desired path for the mod folder. After installation is over, simply run the mod by using the created Desktop and/or Start Menu links. If you have a previous version of the mod installed, please use the uninstaller to remove it completely. Clean installation is mandatory. You might want to make a backup of the Controls folder, so that you can easily restore your controller settings afterwards. Suggestions on common issues Make sure that you are using your dedicated GPU. By default, Strike Fighters 2 usually selects the integrated GPU you may have on your CPU, which is much weaker in terms of VRAM. In case you have frequent crashes or black/missing textures, I highly suggest you download and install the DXVK graphics wrapper (x86 DLLs) into your Strike Fighters 2 game folder: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk. You need a Vulkan-compatible GPU. The wrapper can greatly improve the experience with the mod. With DXVK I can play the mod on a mere Intel UHD 710, whereas without it the mod would always crash to desktop. Go to Sound and set Sound Channels to 32. We got reports that 16 is not enough and will cause crashes on some systems, due to the higher quality sounds included within the mod. The mod is pretty heavy for the game engine despite huge optimizations. Strike Fighters 2's engine is 32bit only and apparently does not manage VRAM properly; consecutive campaign missions might show black/missing textures on objects or cause crashes to desktop because the game does not release the occupied VRAM from the previous mission you played, thus the more missions are loaded consecutively, the more easily you may run out of memory. Set Ground Objects to Medium or Low, Horizon Distance to Near, and Shadows to Medium or Low. These are the most troubling settings. Avoid Unlimited settings as much as possible. If the mod used to work and suddenly crashes to desktop, updating or reinstalling video drivers should help. Make sure that DirectX June 2010 Redistributables are also installed, they are included inside the ISO disk image of the mod. Inside the mod folder, you'll find some extra text files. "(Coalition Order of Battle)" should be of your interest; the mod's terrain covers the entirety of Iraq, at the cost of not having all of Saudi Arabia; this means that a number of important units are based on airbases that are beyond the in-game playable area. With those units you always spawn near the target area, you'll never get to start from a runway nor to land on the assigned runway beyond the invisible wall. You have an entire list of the affected units in the aforementioned text file. By pressing ALT+N, the plane returns to base automatically. The mod is fully compatible with the Campaign Customizer and Mission Editor DLCs by ThirdWire. The Campaign Customizer might be an alternative way to experience those off map units I mentioned previously, since it assigns you to a random airbase of the in-game flyable area. Escort missions are often broken, this is not an issue of the mod, but a bug of the stock game; sometimes the AI flight you escort does not engage its target and keeps flying in a straight line instead of following waypoints, thus the trigger for mission success will never happen. Abandon the mission or retry it if the issue happens, sometimes it works. Pray for ThirdWire AKA Tsuyoshi Kawahito to work on a 64bit version of Strike Fighters 2, maybe even with support for DirectX 12. With that done, any out of memory issues should become an old memory.

In reality, the N21 was usually used by the French without weapons as a trainer, although individual copies still ended up at the front. The Serbs had quite a lot of them, and the later ones - in fact, remotorized N17s. But the only country where this type was actively used as a combat type was Russia. The low engine power did not allow the use of the heavy Vickers, therefore, as standard armament, various types of machine guns (Lewis, Hotchkiss, possibly Madsen and Colt) were used in an asynchronous version. By the summer of 1917, when the motor hunger for 110HP "Rhones" was overcome, part of the 21s were brought up to the standard of the 17th model during a major overhaul. The engine was changed to a more powerful one and a synchronous Vickers was installed. In some documents, this type is designated as "Nieuport 21bis", outwardly, both variants of the plane could be distinguished from the N17 by an incomplete engine hood, as on the 11th type.

Generally my experience has been no successful interception 99% of the time if led by the AI flight leader. If you are the flight leader then you’ll have the company of your flight mates who will follow you to chase the Hun intruders. Most of the time the raiders are to high to track down, climb up to and engage successfully with your flight. It’s next to impossible to climb, reach and engage the Aviatiks, Rumplers etc especially in a DH2, BE-12 or other slow climbing scouts. On those scramble missions in late 1916 I’ve had some luck chasing and catching enemy raiders in a Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter, DH2, & BE-12’s if I split from my flight early as they are forming up and head east to where you think their return flight path would be. I’ve seen Archie puffs shooting at the raiders and guide my self in that direction as they fly east over our Observation balloons, Munitions Factory’s, Army camps, Train Yards & airfields. By the time I get to their height which is usually 10,000+ ft either just over or well inside enemy lines. More often than not, near or over their airfield. So since I made all this effort to chase them I stupidly attack solo engaging one that is separated from the others in his flight so I don’t get cross fire from the other rear gunners. I try to make my attack from low, behind and below as the aircraft is circling at height to land at its airfield. I’m lucky to get a good burst or two of Lewis or Vickers from less than 100 yds from my initial attack getting some decent hits until the rear gunner becomes aware and starts lasering in and getting hits on my crate with that pin point Parabellum gun. (And that’s with the rear guns set at less accurate on in the workshop) It’s a crap shoot of whether I bring down one of those intruders. It normally doesn’t end well with either my fuel tank punctured & leaking fuel, engine damaged or I get wounded. It’s the price I pay for my foolish endeavours chasing the enemy over the lines & I get and accept this. I find once you are flying a SPAD VII, Sopwith Pup, Nieuport 17, 23 etc the odds improve slightly attacking alone but you still have to be very careful of that rear gunners return fire. Now is it just me or has anyone had some nasty encounters on Scramble missions where Roland CII’s are involved attacking you and your flight after dropping their bombs on your airfield? After Intake off with my flight just clearing the airfield they dive down and aggressively engage every aircraft we have airborne. No breaking for home either, oh no even hugely out numbered. It’s not uncommon for these devil may care Roland pilots to engage and dog fight anywhere from 6 to 8 of our aircraft. Kudos for them though! Mainly all getting destroyed but taking 2 or 3 of us with them. At times it appears that all target just my aircraft at one point, and not because my aircraft stands out by colour or emblemed up or am an outstanding pilot. Far be it from that. This is on every Scramble mission where Rolands are involved or generally when I encounter them either attacking an enemy airfield where they happen to be in the area. I find the Rolands will engage and chase you down, more so than any Halberstadt, Fokker, or Albatros scout I’ve encountered. Heck I’ve attacked an enemy airfield in a 24 Squadron career with DH2’s or BE-12’s of 19 Squadron where 3 Rolands scrambled during our attack and took on all 5 of us. Like a pitbull they just won’t let go! They chase you down until you cross the lines then break off..maybe! Don’t get me wrong it is a great challenge to fight off the Rolands & dog fight them but their pilots appear to have more than their fair share of aggression & more at times than the other scout pilots. Cheers!

That is an interesting and well thought out design position, Logan4, I hope it works well in combat. I might increase the total of the zero lift drag coefficient a little (from total Cd0=0.0195 to 0.0200) and see how that works. Great looking models, and thanks for posting them!

The old chinese strategos Sun Zu said, you must try to understand your enemy if you want to get the best for yourself. Lets try to look with iranian eyes. Iran is in a weak situation. It has no powerfull allies. Hizballah and Assad are not counting, they are mor a burden than helpfull. Russia is not really an ally. In Syria the Russians play their own game, with the aim to hold and secure their only naval and air base at the Mediterranaen Sea. In the Gulf area the russians ar no existent and their only base south of the arab peninsula (Socotra) they gave up 30 years ago. With other words, Iran is alone. And it is surrounded by nuclear powers. There are the Russians in the north, Pakistan and India in the East, Israel in the West and the US Navy in the Gulf. So the Iranians feel encircled and under siege. What they need is a powerfull deterrence. And this can only be the nuclear weapon. They have learned, that the possetion of nuclear weapons makes unassailable. Without nuclear weapons they fear a western, suni, israeli or whatever attempt of regime change, or worse a military invasion. Examples are the so called Arabellion and the annihilation of Ghadaffys Libyan regime by french and british forces. The example for inviolability is North Korea. The fat boy of NK can do what he want, nobody will not touch his regime, because all fear the nuclear detterence. The aim of Iran is to get the same safety level as North Korea. Thatswhy they want the bomb. Not to use them, but for deterrence. (May some iranian hardliners cry bullshit about erase of Israel, they know for sure, that a nuclear strike against the jewish state will be answered by a massive retailiation and afterward you can swim from the Gulf to the Caspian Sea. Iranians may have a martyr cult, but they are not willing to suicide their whole people.) The economic situation of Iran is bad. There are no powerfull and monetary resources for a longer war. So on the short Iran is only able to stir up trouble on secondary theatres of war. The same strategy the British used between 1940 and mid 1944 in WW2 against Germany. Try to make the enemy busy to defend against pinbricks, like rocket salvos of Hizballah at Israel or drone attacks at Saudi fuel depots, or support of guerilla activities in Yemen. This does not cost much for the Iran, but the defenders have a lot of trouble and a lot of costs, because they must guard all of their strategic and economic assets. (An old military rule says, for a small war (Guerilla war in modern terms) you need only a tenth of the power of the defending army. In an assymetric war of today this relation is much worse for the defender) On the long run, the very long run it may change a lot. The world economy is changing. The renewable energies are coming, so the oil is on the long run a discountinued model. And the arab economy is more or less basing on oil alone. When the time is come and the western and chinese economy will not need oil anymore, the arabs will have a major problem. They are running out of money and without money they will have no power. This will be the time for the Iran to expand his zone of influence. But till then 50 years or more will go.

Wonderful job. But, as the great Tanizaki said, I will note one circumstance. On the Nieuport aircraft (up to Type 24-27), the upper elevators control cables ran THROUGH the stabilizer. For this purpose, special through "slits" were made there. This is a very characteristic feature of the prototype, which immediately catches the eye on the model.

The Nieuport 21 was designed to be a long range escort fighter. It used a Nieuport 17 airframe with the smaller Nieuport 11 engine to reduce fuel consumption and extend its range. The lighter weight gave the plane a good climb rate, but the lower power engine reduced its speed. The Nieuport 21 served along with the Nieuport 17 on the Western Front. It was also licensed to the Dux factory in Russia and large numbers were used on the Eastern Front. My version of the Nieuport 21 is armed with a single Lewis gun mounted on the upper wing and has a loadout for eight Le Prieur Rockets for Balloon Busting missions. This package features two skins - one French, one Russian - a set of decals, and a fully functional cockpit. My skinning templates are included with the download. This plane uses the Le Prieur Rockets created by P10ppy and a sound file created by Nixou (included with his Realistic Engine Sounds package). Both of these files are available in the Combat Ace Download section. Both of these files are used by other aircraft, so you may already have them. I have included Nixou's sound file with this package in case you don't already have it. Credits: My thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Nieuport 21. My thanks to Nixou for making the sound file for the Le Rhone 80hp engine. Installation instructions: This aircraft uses P10ppy's Le Prieur rockets available in the CombatAce downloads section. You may already have it. If you don't, you'll have to download it and install it into your Weapons folder. For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "Nieuport21" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. If you don't already have it, copy the file named "LeRhone9c80hp1m4" from my Sounds folder into yours. For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "Nieuport21" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in your FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "Nieuport21". Move the folder named "D" from the Airplanes/Nieuport21 folder into the Decals/Nieuport21 folder you just made. If you don't already have it, copy the file named "LeRhone9c80hp1m4" from my Sounds folder into yours.

View File Ludun 2000 (LD-2000) SPAAGM Ludun 2000 (LD-2000) SPAAGM The Ludun-2000 is a Chinese copy of the Thales Nederland Goalkeeper 30 mm close-in weapons system (CIWS) mounted on the rear a 8 x 8 single cab flat bed truck and generator and system container behind the cabin. The Type 730B gun is a copy of the General Electric GAU-8 30 mm x 173 mm seven-barrel Avenger gun used on the A-10. It fires at 4,200 rounds-per-minute with the APDS round having a muzzle velocity of 1,150m/sec and the HE cartridge of 920m/sec. There are two 500 round cylindrical magazines either side of the gun. By design, the LD-2000 is essentially a land based derivative of the existing PLAN Type 730 CIWS, itself modelled on the closed loop tracking US Phalanx CIWS and EU Goalkeeper CIWS. More recent imagery depicts the addition of a mast mounted search radar and six launch tubes for the TY-90 Surface-to-Air-Missile. Buk M2E Surface to Air missile system The Buk missile system is a family of self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air missile systems developed by the Soviet Union and its successor state, the Russian Federation, and designed to counter cruise missiles, smart bombs, fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles The Buk system was created as a replacement of the 9k12 Kub in the air defenses forces of the Soviet Union and succesor states. A typical batallion consist of a command vehicle, a target acquisition radar vehicle and 6 TELAR vehicles, with three TELs. The M2E variant uses the 6x6 MZKT-6922 wheeled vehicle, in order to produce a hight road mobility and low operating cost variant of the system. The pack contains the 9K317E Buk M2E / MZKT-6922 TELAR and the 9S18M1E Snow Drift acquisition Radar mounted on a MZKT-6922 trnasport. Finally, this pack is still a BETA, need some fine tunning inthe missile and system performance and other vehicles asociated with the system like the command post and the low level radar. Is released for the CA community to have a modern variant of the Buk missile to play with.
