@alecsandru1990 Why did you give the mod a 3-star review? The problem is definitely on your end, the mod works fine for pretty much everyone else. You must be doing something wrong. Do you have all required TW games installed? Are they all patched to the latest July 2013 version? Have you pointed the ODS installer to the correct location of your Strike Fighters 2 games? If you need support, this is the correct topic. You shouldn't be reviewing it badly only because it seemingly does not work on your system. It's just disrespectful, childish behavior overall. We put months if not an entire year of much hard work into this project. Most download it, some complain but few actually show gratitude for such efforts, done all for free and passion. The development team deserves more respect.

Default skinpack for stock SPAD VII's. There are two skins - for French and Russian aviation. I tried to add some "photorealistic" textures for more impressive image of this aircraft. I removed wing's cockades and rudder's emblems from "Decals.ini" because they were integrated in my skin. Eugene

Okay so hear me out. I finally plated the NATO fighter campaign in 1953. Guess I just got tired with the short and sharp dogfights of the Radar missile era of the late cold war so I decided to jump to the 1953 campaign on the MiG-15bis cockpit. Well, I have experience with supersonic jet gunfights (MiG-19 is my all-time favorite) but riding the MiG-15bis with a vastly inferior engine is something I am not prepared for. Sure, I could chase turboprop attack aircraft (A-26 Invaders are my favorite prey!) but I kind of struggle catching with jet engine ones without getting too distracted by my fuel reserves. Once I managed to trash F-84S (they were on a strike configuration and were running away) when I happened to chance upon two Canadair Sabres. They tried to run-away as well but I was too determined to catch them and I eventually did but then they dropped their tanks and turned around and an ensuing dogfight erupted between me and my wingman. Suffice to say, in my opinion, MiG-15bis guns were horrible. The entire aircraft had the tendency to lose alignment when firing and the bullet ballistics is crap owing to the heavier caliber. The turn radius seems to be terrible as well, as the Canadair Sabre effortlessly managed to outturn me. Then I found myself being chased, completely at their mercy. A Sabre fired a 50 caliber salvo and grazed my wing, clipping my aileron (thank god the tank didn't explode) and I managed to emergency land to a nearby airfield while my wingman managed to shoot one of the Sabre who tried to finish me on my landing approach. In my opinion, MiG-15bis is a terrifying interceptor and absolutely crap dogfighter, but still, I want to hear your side and opinions on this. Is the MiG-15bis inferior at dogfighting or am I just a crap dogfighter (lol)? (screenshots of my MiG-15bis barely managing to escape from the two Murderous Canadair Sabre on my tail lol)

Thank you very much as well!! merry xmas!!saved me buying 2 modules at dcs and having a real one like this. The beauty of sf2 is that you can fly ALL planes in ALL eras.. past, present and future, no pressing buttons and readying hours before takeoff, no expensive module buying, SF2 is my real go to when you want to just, fire up, take off, fly and complete your missions without worrying about avionics and systems, and the graphic , effects and map mods are FANTASTIC!!

Update 4.702 Dear Friends, We're glad to report that the work on 4.702 update is finished and it is released. It doesn't contain as many changes as the previous one, but it does bring the long-awaited P-51B-5 fighter for the Battle of Normandy! It took a very long time, but there were some reasons for this - namely the long list of its modifications. It has three different gunsights(!), two canopies - standard and Malcolm Hood where the moving part of the canopy is a single spherical shaped piece of plexiglass. This aircraft is also the first to have flexible bomb loadouts depending on the country (please note that for this feature to work you should select the aircraft skin of a country you want before generating a quick mission and not after that on the hangar screen). Of course, it also uses the new DVD damage visualization system and dynamic tactical codes. Along with P-51B, we have a late Christmas gift for the owners of Flying Circus Vol.I - two new free campaigns Gallant Green featuring the British S.E.5a and Red Knights featuring the German Albatros D.V. There are also 10 new single-player missions showcasing all the birds of Vol.I. They were created by our friend Jaegermeister. A big THANK YOU to him for creating them. Enjoy! Jaegermeister has created 28 custom skins that can be used with the Campaigns. You can download them HERE. As usual, there are many other improvements and additions aimed at increasing the sim quality you can see in the list below. IL-2 Sturmovik team wishes you a Happy New Year, all the best and for your dreams to be fulfilled! 1. The P-51B-5 fighter is now available for all Early Access customers of Battle of Normandy; 2. The new free campaign "Gallant Green" (S.E.5a) was added for all Flying Circus Vol.I owners; 3. The new free campaign "Red Knights" (Albatros DVa) was added for all Flying Circus Vol.I. owners; 4. 10 single missions showcasing Flying Circus Vol.I aircraft were added; 5. Visual pixelization and shimmering of medium and low-density clouds at medium and far distances was minimized. Note: Radeon users may experience some minor artifacts or visual anomalies due to this change. We are working to fix this, but the solution may take until next update as we need to discuss with AMD. 6. Radio compasses of all German planes except Ju 52 were retouched (Oyster_KAI); 7. Seats and throttle controls of all Messerschmitts were redrawn (Oyster_KAI); 8. P-51D panel lettering improved (Oyster_KAI); 9. Detail of the sight cap on all Spitfires improved (Oyster_KAI); 10. All Fw 190 A8 paint schemes, including the default, were redrawn (Martin =ICDP= Catney) 11. All Bf 109 G6 Late paint-schemes, including the default, were redrawn (Martin =ICDP= Catney); 12. All Bf 109 G14 paint-schemes, including the default, were redrawn (Martin =ICDP= Catney); 13. All Bf 109 K4 paint schemes, including the default, were redrawn (Martin =ICDP= Catney); 14. All Me 262 paint schemes, including the default, were redrawn (Martin =ICDP= Catney); 15. All P-47D-22 paint schemes, including the default, were redrawn (Martin =ICDP= Catney); 16. All P-47D-28 paint -schemes, including the default, were redrawn (Martin =ICDP= Catney); 17. Fixed number of rounds for KV-1 tank when there are two ammo types with one prevailing type; 18. Tracers and navigation lights are not visible through clouds; 19. New effects of fires of aircraft engines and fuel tanks created; 20. Fixed misalignment of machine gun and automatic gun bursts on detailed ground vehicles; 21. Fixed an issue that caused large planes at a distance of more than 10km to be invisible in binoculars; 22. Morning/evening fog is now visible at different haze settings, not only the maximum one; 23. Low visibility z-fighting of the morning fog has been eliminated; 24. Reduced "blockiness" of cloud shadows on the surface; 25. The influence of launch tubes, transport containers and paratroopers on total aircraft mass was restored; 26. The old issue where the propeller was visible through the light halo of the cockpit light bulb is gone thanks to improved technology; 27. Fixed an issue where the formation lights toggle switches on American fighters were not animated when the engine was turned off; 28. Added parameter for VR: render_eye = 0 [-1, 0, 1] to startup.cfg. If set to -1, only the left eye camera will be shown on the monitor in VR mode, and only the right eye view if set to 1. If set to 0 it shows both eyes. 29. HUD appears faster on mission start; 30. Fixed problem with the direction of MLRS rockets in a multiplayer game; 31. Restored functionality of fixed cameras (LAlt+2) in multiplayer (both Cooperative and Dogfight modes) when starting the server from within the game with spectators allowed (difficulty option Allow Spectators).

Simply great @BB, you got it to simulate the missing Stratus-cloudlayer (CFS3-problem) via mist- and fog-layer, and this very successfully! So I could fly with a cloudlayer under my aeroplane and with blue sky and cumulus-clouds above. For members a few impressions, Greetings!

In game the Sabres are overrated. You can also say the MiG-15bis is underrated. They are not made by the same developer, thatswhy the differences. You may cheat and change the flightmodel of the MiG-15bis to make this plane turn better. Its your decision. Its only a game. In reality the planes were comparable. The plane with the better pilot on the stick would win the battle. The MiG had a better climb rate and acceleration. At altitudes over 8.000 meters it was able to outturn the Sabre. Below this altitude the advantage of the MiG was gone and as closer you came to earth the Sabre became better. It was a bad tactic to try to outcurve a Sabre in a MiG-15bis. The tactic said in such situation to use the better climb rate and pull up. You also must know, that the F-86F and later versions are at the same development level as the MiG-17. I dont know why the soviets gave a new type designation to the MiG-17. The most parts of MiG-17 and MiG-15 are the same. Only the wings and the tail section are different. The MiG-17 was developed as MiG-15 Strela 45. So if you want to fight the late Sabres, then use the MiG-17.

Hi Menrva, The Mig 25 in this pack contains a cockpit that was created by Centurion-1 back in 12-13. It was almost unusable as most of parts are not working. I have made some modification to both the ini file and the LOD itself. Can I upload it here for inclusion in the next release? Regards, Orsin

@daddyairplanes Hello friend, an idea, that imperfection in the polys you can hide it by painting an outline on the sensor texture with the same color of the fuselage.

Definitely, you can load any tank that has an autoloader manually. I just thought, It's amazing to actually see it in action. So I decided to share it with you.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Once again the standard by which an all inclusive campaign should be held to has increased. I've played the Third Wire games for something close to fifteen years on and off now, and the Operation Desert Storm campaigns have always been among my favorite. This edition, released in commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary of Operation Desert Storm is incredibly detailed and includes many new aircraft and details. The new campaign featuring the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait is a fun challenge, one I don't expect my pilot to survive! I had been toying with the idea of returning to playing SF2 for a few months now, and this mod has made me feel like I did in 2006 the first time I picked up Wings Over Europe. To the Operation Desert Storm mod team and CombatAce staff, I thank you. Be proud of your amazing work!
