For those interested, do know that alternatives exist. This is just an example, and it's free for those who know how to program and compile a little: https://github.com/xinntao/ESRGAN Even giants like Adobe and Nvidia are working on their own versions for various purposes. Results may vary greatly. For things like terrain tiles, this approach does not seem to work well enough yet. AI networks are trained on countless datasets, but it will take time until they can be trained to understand a million different use cases if not more. At the end of the day, nothing will beat human interaction. Skins and textures we produce may not be perfect, but they are the result of much thought and artistic expression. AI networks are a good thing, don't get me wrong, but they deserve to be applied on Real World problems more than on art stuff. AI was applied extensively on the remaster of the GTA Trilogy, it turned out to be a piece of crap; it got little to none quality control check by the developers.

View File Speech Enhancement & Expansion Speech Enhancement & Expansion February 13th, 2019 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2 games This package is my personal enhancement meant to improve the consistency and quality of the in-game English speech. I tweaked the SpeechSystem.ini file to include the additional SF2NA voices ("call the ball" and "Vampire") separately from those of the TACC; the additional SF2NA voices are now meant to be those of a Navy Controller. By chance, I have found and fixed a stock bug in the original SF2 SpeechSystem.ini file. With some .wav editing, I created a generic Hawkeye TACC using the original, female Red Crown voice. Additional .wav files have been created so that in-game flights and Departure mention Hawkeye instead of Red Crown. I hex-edited the .str file so that subtitles properly display Hawkeye instead of Red Crown. Other little fixes were also made; for instance, you'll no longer see "Call the ball" (capital letter after a comma), now it correctly is "call the ball". You get Hawkeye as TACC when flying for naval aviation services, otherwise you get Red Crown. This enhancement is a mixture of Polak's beautiful speech pack for SF1 games, and of SkateZilla's and Rends' improved Hawkeye voices; my thanks for their work! As a bonus, correct and complete or mostly complete speech files have been added for other languages: Italian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Persian. These languages have been added to the proper aviation services of countries where these languages are official: -Arabic is used for Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Somalia, Chad, Yemen, Oman, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Libya, Djibouti. -Spanish is used for Spain, Argentina, Cuba, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic. -Persian is used for Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan. -Vietnamese is used for North Vietnam only. -Italian is used for Italy only. It's highly suggested to install this mod on top of my Nations & Medals Expansion package; the included NATIONS.ini file is entirely based on the one from that mod (hence that mod is required), but with additional edits for enabling different speech packs and callsigns where proper. Mentioned countries feature correct callsigns as heard by the respective audio files (except for Persian, not possible for me to rework them without a transcription). The in-game subtitles have been fully reworked to feature such different callsigns. >Credits (in no particular order): -Polak, for his SF1 mod which enhances all of the original SFP1 speech sound files. -Rends and SkateZilla, for the improved SF2NA Hawkeye voices, which I have tweaked a bit. -GKABS, for producing the (still in progress) Arabic speech pack started for the development of ODS 30AE. -Nguyen Dang Hat and Rhugouvi, for creating the amazing Vietnamese speech pack. -FX Interactive, for producing the Italian and Spanish speech packs for their release of Strike Fighters: Project 1. -Gerwin, for his tips on properly hex-editing the header of .STR files. I included the original readme files from the mentioned mods, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. This mod may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions. Submitter Menrva Submitted 02/13/2019 Category In Game Speech

Before returning home, I decided to visit my old regiment that had been staying on the outskirts of Paris. It was a pleasure to meet the former platoon leader. He was one of the few acquaintances. I was reminded of the cavalry's suicide attacks on German's machine guns. Even our Capitaine went in half for a shrapnell hit. I got to follow the cavalry exercises and finally there was a parade. The show was as handsome as ever, but I knew that the days of glory of the cavalry were already gone.

We found a little bug in the Mirage F1CE (1975-1987). We fixed it in the version 2.9.1, it's wait for approval. If you already downloaded the version 2.9, don't worry, we also uploaded a hotfix for you.

Hello everyone, Did you guys already try a picture enhancement software called Gigapixel AI from Topaz labs?: https://www.topazlabs.com/gigapixel-ai I have been using it for some time to enhance default skins and terrain textures and I have to say it is working really well. it's a bit expensive though. Regards. S.

This is a nice software, although I have a VR but ysing the VR it's hard to see the keyboard. But with this around 4$ it's amazing to have your hand free from the mouse and have both hand in the joystick and the keyboard. But you need to set the head movement sensitivity to your liking. But over all I like it and it does the job so I give it a 8/10. Also they have a good community to support the software.

Mod package has been updated to Version 1.1; huge update, read the change log and updated description for further details. If you've been using a previous version of this mod, it's recommended that you completely remove the Speech folder from your mod folder before installing this new one.

Mirage F1BE (1981-1986) This mod is dedicated to BPAO, nothing would have been possible without him. In June 1975, with tension growing with Morocco, Spain decided to strengthen its Air Force and bought 15 Mirage F1C that were allocated to Albacete AB. In mid-1976 there was still some tension with Morocco and Algerian and Libyan MiG-25 flights on the Mediterranean, which would lead the Spanish Air Force to purchase ten more Mirage F1C and two years later order 48 Mirage F1C and F1E. F1BE_Early specifics: - no 550, AIM-9 SW instead - R530, no S530F, no CLB4, no CLB8 - no radio-altimeter - Seat Mk10 - RWR BF - no guns - 450 L (360 kg) less fuel - CC420 gun pod capability (under-fuselage and under-wings) - no AN/ALE-40 Chaffs Flares dispenser Covered units : - Ala 14, 141° Escuadron. - Ala 46, 462° Escuadron. A big thank to all on Combatace and C6 forums that helped us solving issues we encountered. Any omission in credits is totally unwanted, if I forgot somebody, let me know, I will correct this. This addon is and will in all cases remain freeware. Released under CombatAce Fair-Use terms. Enjoy The Mirage F-1 Team.

And let's bump up this thread with a few fresh screenies from the new year - I hope to find more free time in the future to return to modding occasionally for FE2 since this, I think, is still one of the best WW1 flight sims when fully modded. Graphics look fine, the FMs are in many ways more realistic/balanced than in RoF - and nothing beats the hands-on action of FE2 with its good AI. While the WOFF series may be the gold standard for campaigns, FE2 really is the go-to sim for quick combat or single missions. And where else can you fly the Morane Saulnier Type N (with the exception of the now ancient Red Baron II/3D). Happy flying all, Von S

Mini ver. 9.97 FM update "package" included here for download: Feb. 16, 2021 - includes minor tweaks to ceilings, empty weights, stall values, etc., for the camera and rear-gun armed Martinsydes G.100 and G.102 done by Geezer - for the western and middle eastern theaters. Also included are the G.100 and G.102 variants with no camera and no rear-gun, and other minor, FM-related tweaks included, as also done for the heavier variants. The no-camera/no-gun variant tweak is taken from the excellent sub-variant modifications of Martinsydes, and provided by Crawford, on p. 25 of the "New Aircraft" thread for FE2. To install the no-gun/no-camera vers., make copies of your standard G.100 and G.102 aircraft folders, re-name them as per the names I have given the relevant folders in the ver. 9.97 FM package, and drop in the general ini and data ini files for the correct aircraft types, and for the relevant theater of operation. Happy flying, Von S EDIT: removed download package - now included in the big, ver. 10.0 FM/realism package.

Welcome to FE2 Dresam. The link Heck has provided is an excellent first-stop for info. on how to set up/install mods. for FE2 (and SF2) - since they both use essentially the same sim. engine. Main thing to keep in mind is that all mods. and user tweaks for FE2 go into the user directory for FE2 located in the "Saved Games" folder on Win7, Win10, etc., as follows: C:\Users\Yourusername\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2 Further sub-folders and files located inside there are as follows (Options.ini controls graphics settings, sim. resolution, etc., by the way; to tweak joysticks/keyboard commands manually instead of through the main in-sim menu, open the ini file located inside "Controls"): The "Effects" and "Flight" sub-folders contain most of the effects, also cloud types etc. (clouds and similar tweaks go into the "Flight" folder); you will also notice a "Soundlist.ini" file in the various mod packs available for FE2 - the "Soundlist" file is also located/should be placed into the "Flight" folder, etc.). The specific sub-folder where most, but not all, installations take place (installation of new aircraft and similar things) is the one named "Objects." Inside "Objects" you will find the following folders - if you are missing some folders, as indicated in the good link that Heck has provided - create those folders and then follow installation instructions indicated per mod. package. Individual aircraft folders go into "Aircraft," for example, decals for aircraft (if decals folders are provided) go into "Decals," ground objects such as ships, balloons, trucks, staff cars, etc., go into "GroundObject," and so on and so forth - in 99% of cases, installation instructions are included in "Read Me" files contained in the mod. packages available. My FM mod. packages contain extensive instructions in their "Read Me" files. For example, to create sub-variants of aircraft types not available to download as actual aircraft mods., make a duplicate of the aircraft folder specified in my long installation instructions/files, rename the "new" aircraft folder as indicated in the relevant instructions, and then move over/replace the files inside the new aircraft folder with the files I have provided, etc. The main three rules to keep in mind: a) create folders that are missing and that you require for a mod. to work b) always install files into folders, replacing/copying files, rather than folders-over-folders, since many mod. packages (such as my FM tweaks) only provide the relevant, tweaked files necessary to install (and not all files, for example, required for a particular aircraft - for that you need to download the relevant aircraft package first, before copying over tweaked files) c) if any oddities emerge with the user directory of your FE2 installation, place the main directory ("C:\Users\Yourusername\Saved Games\ThirdWire\FirstEagles2") onto your desktop, and then load FE2 again, so that a generic/stock user directory folder is re-created - and then begin the mod. installation process again Most mods. for FE2 can be found at this link: https://combatace.com/files/category/358-first-eagles-by-thirdwire/ Happy flying, Von S
