Did you eat your cookies and the milk ? Did you behave all this time ? Whaaaat? You didn't ??? LOL Well, anyway St Nicolas has news for you.We are officially launching our AIDC T-5 Brave Eagle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIDC_T-5_Brave_Eagle) thread. Our AT-5 is almost done, some details still remain to be nailed down. As you might know by now, AT-5 is a trainer that has ability to carry most weapons the F-ck-1 could, except radar guided A2A weapons and the TC-2A anti-radiation missiles. It has no gun so we took the initiative to create an external gunpod for it. Model itself is finished, though we might have to add an additional mesh to the back seat for the Hud repeater among other things. Since the AT-5 is a F-ck-1 modified version, we created templates for the AT-5 fuselage and updated them many time during the development. We still have some work here and there, for instance to adjust panel lines and the fade-in parts for the gills and airscoops. We planned, for now, just three skins for it (see the first two pictures and the last one included) though they will be a (real) challenge for the team given their complexity but I think we will manage it in the end. Decals are already planned to be implemented for it, too. We like the details so for the prototype we'll build a slightly different AC.lod with additional antennas. We made brand new pilots for the plane and we will also update soon the F-ck-1 with these new created pilots for it, too. Given the present period of the year and the fact that some members of the team will take soon a well deserved holiday, we will have important news for you at the end of the January, next year. Until then we will work to the skins and to some left details. Stay tuned. PS - I included four pictures as well for our model.

Yep it's a fair shout, I recall when the SF engine got updated with the ability to have individual carriers identified via decals so these statics could take advantage of that, although they would then need to be coded as ship groundobjects and I wouldn't want them showing up errantly in missions in the middle of the ocean as targets. I appreciate the thought though, in the first instance I intend to get some packs together as terrain objects that are as Wrench said "close enough for goberment work", and then I might play around with what's possible after.

1.Preface The specific parameters of this weapon are still extremely mysterious, and very little information has been disclosed to the outside world. Even its actual appearance may be different from the public photos (it is suspected that most of the photos are just inert training version). Therefore, part of its performance is purely my guess based on the existing data. Based on the "What if" attribute, I try to make it as close as possible to what it should be. The following is quoted from information provided by Wiki, exactly what I used as a reference to fill in the data: PL-17 is much larger than other long-range air-to-air missiles, at 6 m (20 ft) long (whereas PL-15, AIM-120 are measured around 4 m (13 ft) long), which contains more solid fuel. The extended length makes the missile unfit for the internal weapons bay of the Chengdu J-20. During the flight, PL-17 would rely on inertial guidance, satellite navigation, and data-link to track targets. During the terminal phase, the missile would turn on its multimode seeker with both active AESA radar and IR-homing to track the target autonomously. The missile features a low-drag profile, and maneuverability is provided by four small control fins and thrust-vectoring engines. The range is reportedly between 300–500 km (190–310 mi) by various media, or 400 km (250 mi) class by Royal United Services Institute with a top speed in excess of Mach 4. 2.What's in the mod: Actually,it include 2 versions: 1.PL-17 —— live ammunition, white paint with black identification ring; 2.PL-17J —— Inert training version that I made up (because I didn’t know its real type name, I used the initials of the training ammunition in Chinese),blue-green paint, cannot be launched and is only used as a decoration in SF2; 3.Precautions: 1.Due to the large size of thses 2 missiles, they are usually only available on specific station in specific aircrafts, if you can't find them, it's likely that the station is incompatible; 2.The last two pictures are in real life for reference. 4.Usage: Copy PL-17 and PL-17J folders to your Weapons folder ,then everthing should be fine.

i read somewhere about a method of treating the statics like ships, allowing you to add individual markings to the static aircraft. while the person that did it was doing units (C-17 tails iirc) it might allow you to use the 707s with my tga skins (scaled down of course) and have a big variety with minimal effort. matter of fact would work on damn near every flyable airliner on site, as i skinned all most of the CA released ones except for the 747..... if interested i'll ask the guy how he did it

    Not got those in my list, but if you're happy to send them over that would be great thank you! No worries on the Ka-27, I have found a low(ish) poly one online I can use, it's not perfect but it'll do the job: The list of WW2 statics that I've collated from your terrains are so far are: A5MClaude, A6M2N, A6M3, B-17F, B-17G, Beaufighter, Beaufort, Bf109E, Bf109F, Bf109G, BF110C, Blenheim1, Fw190A, Hurricane1, Hurricane2, Hurricane2C, Hurricane2D, Hurricane2_Hydro, Ju87B, Ju88, Ki201, Ki45Nick, Ki48Lily, Kittyhawk, Lancaster, Me262, P38F, P38J, P47D, P51D, Q1WLorna, Re2000, Re2001, SB17, Spitfire1, Spitfire8C, Spitfire9, SpitfireVBT, Warhawk. Here's a few other statics I've been working on: TMF F-5E and KC-135R Russo's Hawk and YEYEYE's Mi-24 from the modder's repository C-17

now that i've made a SWAG on how these looked, i shall find 1000 close ups from the exact timeframe. as it is, 3rd Wing used really small unit decals in the 90s so its hard to see all around.... 19th FS Gamecocks 54th FS Leopards

Thx for the insight, it helped.Though I still remember a little chemistry from school, I didn't know that this mix is yellow. I know how Zinc looks like, I know how Chrome look like, but I never seen the new chemical substance resulted from the mix.

A primer/undercoat is a layer of paint you apply before your actual paint, either to increase adhesion, protect from corrosion/rust/other environmental elements, enhance shadows when talking about model painting, or a mix of all. Zinc-chromate is one such primer used in the aviation industry since at least WW2, and it's well, yellow.

Flying Tigers on the Hunt... and your trivia for today: the 74th FS in 1995 had the most D model Block 40 (6) of any unit outside of Luke AFB. Given the 23rd Wing's role to support the 82nd Airborne Division at the time, these were assigned to act as Fast FACs
