1.Preface The specific parameters of this weapon are still extremely mysterious, and very little information has been disclosed to the outside world. Even its actual appearance may be different from the public photos (it is suspected that most of the photos are just inert training version). Therefore, part of its performance is purely my guess based on the existing data. Based on the "What if" attribute, I try to make it as close as possible to what it should be. The following is quoted from information provided by Wiki, exactly what I used as a reference to fill in the data: PL-17 is much larger than other long-range air-to-air missiles, at 6 m (20 ft) long (whereas PL-15, AIM-120 are measured around 4 m (13 ft) long), which contains more solid fuel. The extended length makes the missile unfit for the internal weapons bay of the Chengdu J-20. During the flight, PL-17 would rely on inertial guidance, satellite navigation, and data-link to track targets. During the terminal phase, the missile would turn on its multimode seeker with both active AESA radar and IR-homing to track the target autonomously. The missile features a low-drag profile, and maneuverability is provided by four small control fins and thrust-vectoring engines. The range is reportedly between 300–500 km (190–310 mi) by various media, or 400 km (250 mi) class by Royal United Services Institute with a top speed in excess of Mach 4. 2.What's in the mod: Actually,it include 2 versions: 1.PL-17 —— live ammunition, white paint with black identification ring; 2.PL-17J —— Inert training version that I made up (because I didn’t know its real type name, I used the initials of the training ammunition in Chinese),blue-green paint, cannot be launched and is only used as a decoration in SF2; 3.Precautions: 1.Due to the large size of thses 2 missiles, they are usually only available on specific station in specific aircrafts, if you can't find them, it's likely that the station is incompatible; 2.The last two pictures are in real life for reference. 4.Usage: Copy PL-17 and PL-17J folders to your Weapons folder ,then everthing should be fine.

View File [Fictional] Red Arrows Lightning F.3 BAC Lightning F.3 - Red Arrows Aerobatic Display Team This is a simple mod of the stock Lightning F.3 to create a fictional 'Red Arrows' Lightning! You must have the SF2 Expansion Pack 2 installed. Please do not download this if you do not have the Third Wire Lightnings. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the LightningF3ra folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the LightningF3ra folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to sundowner for uploading his superb Lightning template to Combat Ace. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - December 6th, 2023 Submitter Spinners Submitted 12/06/2023 Category What If Hangar

A primer/undercoat is a layer of paint you apply before your actual paint, either to increase adhesion, protect from corrosion/rust/other environmental elements, enhance shadows when talking about model painting, or a mix of all. Zinc-chromate is one such primer used in the aviation industry since at least WW2, and it's well, yellow.

Not got those in my list, but if you're happy to send them over that would be great thank you! Fab! I love these aggressive twins (A-20, B-25 and A-26).

Putting together some static aircraft terrain object packs, these can be permanently placed on airfields to complement the game generated parked aircraft. Besides the 737, 747, A300 and TMF 707, these are from freeware sources and I have re-mapped some of them to use the same textures of mods available here at CA for some skin re-usability and variety.

SF2 B-25J Mitchell "Night Intruder" Gunship (KAW What-If) 4/19/2021 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) ** Found in the Archives; as you can tell by the date above!!! ** This is a 'What If...' mod of Veltro2k's B-25J Gunship that might have been used during the Korean War. This goes on the presumption that the (A)B-26 Invader either was not available or present in enough numbers. The skin represents a reactivated 499th Bomb Squadron of the 345th Bomb Group. The aircraft is finished in overall night black (like the A-26 and later B-57s). This is the solid gun-nosed Mitchell, with the addition of a wing mounted AN/APS-4 radar unit (just like the USN's PBJs). 24 aircraft serials and Buzz Numbers are provided, as is the "Bat Out of Hell" nose markings. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Weapons (WW2 bombs & rockets), sounds, pilot figures are all provided. As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! Happy Landings! Have Fun!! Wrench Kevin Stein 11/27/2023

If it's been like that for 20 years it just shows how much the correct serials really matter to most folks...you could put a John Deere tractor number on there & it would make no difference...................but you miss a rivet on a skin...............

Flying Tigers on the Hunt... and your trivia for today: the 74th FS in 1995 had the most D model Block 40 (6) of any unit outside of Luke AFB. Given the 23rd Wing's role to support the 82nd Airborne Division at the time, these were assigned to act as Fast FACs
