2 pointsI found the photo on my facebook account. The web page source is long gone, but here is the photo. This is the info from the webiste: Photo of "Hey Jude" from website of a guy commissioned to build a model of it for its pilot, Brigadier General (Ret.) Bob Baxter. Apparently, "Hey Jude" was part of an operational evaluation of TISEO over Vietnam in February of 1972.

2 pointsI made a few edits to the parking on the Kitty Hawk to give a more crowded deck (this is slightly different to the version that I posted in the ODS30 thread so you will get a bit of variety in your different installs). From this stock parking.. To this.. Make sure you're on the right approach angle, it's a pretty tight squeeze onto the deck... And when you get down in one piece, I left a parking spot for you to taxi to.. And that all important text to copy into your CVA-63_DATA.ini file... SF2 TMF Mirage IIICJ (IDF) Upgrade/Remod Pack 3/1/2024 -For SF2, Any and All-(SF2:I and/or Full 5 Merged Suggested) This is a full upgrade/remod pack for The Mirage Factory's Dassault Mirage IIICJ series as used by the Israeli Defense Force Air Force. Included in this package are 2 complete versions of the Mirage IIICJ: = Mirage IIICJ 101 Squadron 119 Squadron 117 Squadron (all with 1962 start date, NMF) 101 Squadron 117 Squadron (both start 1969, in 3 tone Desert Camo) 117 Squadron (Late <1973, Camo with Orage ID triangles) = Mirage IIICJ2 101 Squadron (3 tone camo) 117 Squadron (<74, 3 tone, Orange ID triangles) 253 Squadron (<79, 2 tone Grey) They are set up and labeled to cause NO conflicts with the Mirage IIICJ's available as stock within the game. Skins remain in their original bmp format. Almost all markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. As you can see above, the SF2 date switch is active for both aircraft. All necessary items are provided, weapons (drop tanks), pilots, seats, sounds, effects, and so forth. When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection Dropdown you'll see: Mirage IIICJ Shahak (TMF) or Mirage IIICJ(2) Shahak (TMF) So you can't mistake them for anything other than TMF Birds (tm). As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. The 'Change Log' is, as always, in the Notes section below. Also, you will have a choice for avionics ini for the CJ-2, as historically, the radars were removed. Happy Landings! 1 pointHi all, My USN Spad Steel Tiger campaign keeps sending me north of the DMZ, which is fine I suppose as when I am it's usually against logistics targets like littoral sampan bases and the like. The problem is the density and accuracy of flak against low-and-slows like the A-1. Out of three missions flown in this campaign, two have had targets in NVN and only one in the Steel Tiger zone, and my last one against a fairly deep base North of Vihn. This mission resulted in me losing the Spad after managing (somehow) to get her back out into the gulf and bailing out in vicinity of the ship: I've played a few fast jet campaigns so far, all of which have resulted in KIA or POW due to flak, but speed and being able to climb makes it feel like less of an issue unless on a bombing run or making an obvious mistake that I've learned from. So my question is, are there any tactics for avoiding flak in slow crates? I'm jinking like mad but took all the fine on the bombing lineup. Also, I took three wingmen to hopefully disperse the flak among us all, but went in first on the target.

1 pointNow for the updated parking for the Nimitz class carriers. Again, this is slightly different to the parking slots posted in the ODS30AE forum. This is the original stock parking.. And the updated version.. Again, I've left a parking spot for your plane to taxi into after you finish your mission.. 1 pointThis is another decal sheet for Hey Jude. Wolfpak Decals 72-112 - "Devil's Fork" (usaf-sig.org) There is an image of the decal sheet itself that kind of shows the small red logo that it mounted low on the left side. On the sheet it is next to the "Hey Jude" decal. You can see the logo on the intake ramp of the first color photo of 307. s-l1600.jpg (1139×1600) (ebayimg.com)

1 pointThe lower photo is a bird I struggled to find before. It is "Hey Jude", which was the box art for the Revell 1/32 F-4E in my childhood, H198. Revell 1/32 McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II Hey Jude, H198 (oldmodelkits.com) Here is a modern decal sheet: F-4 Phantom Hey Jude Graphics Set – Callie Graphics (callie-graphics.com) I did find a photo or two, maybe I have them linked on my Facebook?

1 pointNorthrop F-5D Freedom Fighter - No.75 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force, 1968 The New Zealand Government's decision to send troops to Vietnam in 1964 was highly controversial but was simply an escalation of the previous position of New Zealand assistance via various support structures such as the Civilian Surgical Team and the supply of a small non-combatant military force of engineers. The Royal New Zealand Air Force had provided transport assistance since 1962 and this had begun to increase when a sufficiently large airstrip to accommodate the Bristol Freighters of No.40 Squadron was built at Nui Dat. American pressure on both Australia and New Zealand to increase their support to US Forces in Vietnam continued and on March 31st, 1966 Sir Keith Holyoake, the New Zealand Prime Minister, announced that the Royal New Zealand Air Force would contribute to a joint RAAF/RNZAF combat wing consisting of three squadrons (two RAAF and one RNZAF) operating a version of the F-5A 'Freedom Fighter' which had just finished a succcessful five-month combat evaluation during 'Operation Skoshi Tiger'. On April 30th, 1966 No.75 Squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Ohakea was disbanded and a new No.75 Squadron was formed on the following day at Bien Hoa Air Base in South-Central southern Vietnam operating a handful of F-5A's and F-5B's loaned from USAF stocks. Experiences gained from 'Skoshi Tiger' were incorporated into a new version of the basic F-5A designated as the F-5D and initial deliveries were made to No.75 Squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force during August 1966 and the squadron were declared operational at the end of September 1966. The joint RAAF/RNZAF combat wing at Bien Hoa operated in ground-attack operations over South Vietnam and gained an enviable reputation for bombing accuracy and aircraft availability. When the joint RAAF/RNZAF combat wing finally ceased operations at the end of 1971 only eleven F-5D's had been lost over Vietnam - nine to enemy ground fire and two due to an unfortunate collision at take-off. All remaining aircraft were handed over to the Republic of Vietnam Air Force in 1972 in a move financed by the Nixon administration as part of the wider policy of 'Vietnamization'. FORRESTAL class US NAVY aircraft carrier ======================================== The model depicts a ship circa 1990. Of course, each aircraft carrier looks a little different, but this is more or less what the USS Saratoga (CVA-60) and USS Independence (CVA-62) looked like during Operation Desert Storm. Model was tested in ODS30 addon and SF2 NA. INSTALLATION ======================================== Just copy files from [C O P Y T O G A M E F O L D E R] to your game folder ;-) In [Extras] folder you can find new ship smoke emitter. ======================================== The 3d model, game files and skins are mine. Parking spots done by allenjb42. Many thanks to the ODS30 team for their help in testing this ship. ************************************************************* This is FREEWARE-DONATIONWARE and it CANNOT be distributed unless permissions are granted by myself.
