OK, nearing final completion - I know it's Overkill with the details but honestly that's part of the work I enjoy the most; recently added in portable diagnostic testing unit, portable arc welding station unit and rolling tool carts. And I packed/optimized nearly all the prop textures into a single 1024 res map with super low poly mesh props so should be minimal impact. Sorry in advance, some last shots are captured right from MAX viewport.

For the clarity, let's establish what is a rudder and how it works. Vertical stabilizer is essentially a symmetric airfoil - it doesn't produce lift at zero AoA, aka aircraft flying straight. But as we deflect the rudder, the lift is starting to get produced. Imagine that vertical stab is a vertical wing, and rudder is a flap - this is easier to understand. Now, let's say we give right rudder. Vertical stab starts creating lift which pushes the tail to the left. Aircraft "pivots" around its center of gravity, so nose gets pushed to the right. Voila, we achieved a yaw, now longitudinal axis of our aircraft is misaligned to the vector of speed. This is called the yaw angle. This creates two effects. As we now flying "sideways", the airflow over right and left wings is different, and they create different amounts of lift. In our case, right wing creates less lift, left wing more, and aircraft rolls to the right. This is rudder roll. Then, the relative wind hits the side of our aircraft, in our case the left side. This pushes the aircraft to the right, making it slowly turn right. This is rudder turn. All of these effects happen on the same side - I.E., as we give right rudder, we get right yaw, right roll and right turn. For aircraft with unorthodox control surfaces like spoilers on B-2 or fully moving vertical stabs on YF-23 the effects are the same. After checking more rudder settings on modded and stock planes I found that most of them are messed up. I am not talking the tune-up of coefficients themselves, they simply have the wrong signs. With the default settings, rudder yaws aircraft correctly, but tries to roll and turn it in the opposite side. This is weird and wrong. After looking on the forum, I found this thread from 2009 with the guy complaining about the same thing: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/60218-question-about-flight-model-sideway-g-force/ So the issue is really old, and I can't think of how to explain it. I can't believe that this is an oversight, in so many planes and over multiple games and expansions packs and patches... Likewise, I don't think that the devs didn't understand how this works. The coefficients are in place after all. So the only answer is that this was done deliberately for some reason

Yeah, a hard drive crash would be easier to recover from. In this case the software itself died. My copy of 3D Studio Max was about 15 years old. It started shutting down unexpectedly, then it started throwing error messages, then it refused to start. Autodesk stopped supporting it years ago, so no help there. I contacted everyone I know and tried everything I could think of, including reinstalling it from scratch. I finally gave up. This happened more than a week ago. I am over the bitching phase, and the feeling depressed phase, now I'm in the "Let's carry on from here" phase. I'm making good progress with Blender. The biggest downside is that I lost a huge library of components that I had created - but if I did it once, I can do it again, it's only a matter of time...

and there are just a few adjustments for positioning\renaming. I already started to convert my over Nam drumstick and I am still using older (with adjustments) decal.ini.

I'm sure you can add The Range map to ODS (or not, but I assume you can) and practice that way. I don't know any Buccaneer drivers to recommend.

ok, real world nit pick time most netting like that is plastic, and melts kinda easy. how do i know? 21 years as an Army cook, with many many moons cooking under the stars. to close to any exhaust (even the fans venting the kitchen) and the net gets burnt up and darkened. so it should be higher over the building. which would be a nightmare to put up, and keep up in any kind of wind. but you want to be properly tactical? the competition is way ahead of you on that i've also eaten at a few of these over the years (yes i mean the truck)

Added in auxiliary support building; working to finalize all the prop assets I've been working on over the past few weeks to really jazz things up. Should be completed any day now, @Wrench will get first dibs for initial testing.

View File SF2 IAI Dagger (FAA) by The Mirage Factory Upgrade/Remod Pack SF2 IAI Dagger (FAA) by The Mirage Factory Upgrade/Remod Pack 4/4/2024 -For SF2, Any and All-(Full 5 Merged Suggested) This is a full upgrade/remod pack for The Mirage Factory's IAI Dagger as used by the Argentine Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Argentina or FAA). Skins remain in their original bmp format. All necessary items are provided, weapons, pilots, seats, sounds, effects, and so forth (most weapons used ARE stock 3W items, with few exceptions). This is a "nationalized" single-user only aircraft. This aircraft is supplied with 3 skins: Camo with NO ID bands (original skin) Camo with Blue ID Bands Camo with Yellow ID Bands (both with a 1982 start date) All skins use the same 'pool' of 39 ID/serial numbers. All serials are 100% hisorically accurate. As can be expected, the SF2 Date Switch (tm) is active, although the 2 Color Banded Birds (tm) both have the 1982 start date for use during the Falkland War (as best as my research could narrow down) Also, the Date Switch is used on the Loadout ini, as newer missiles become available. When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection Drop-down you'll see: Dagger (TMF) So you can't mistake them for anything else but TMF Birds (tm). Also. this will diferentiate it from the Other Daggers available As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. The 'Change Log' is, as always, in the Notes section below. Happy Landings! It's fine as is. Right not, I'm not doing too much, and I'm dealing with a cat health crisis. None of the vets seem to know exactly what wrong with Teddy, but he's gone comletley ape-shit crazy with trying to help him. He's bitten through some leather work gloves I have ripped up both hands!!!, simply trying to give him his meds or eyedroppers of water (hes not drinking or eating for the last 7-ish days). My mind is definately not on anything ... so forgive me

Bad news. My copy of 3DS Max has died and I am not able to resurrect it. So all the 3D models I've done for First Eagles are gone. However, Mue has made an LOD exported for Blender. I'm starting to learn Blender and hopefully I'll be able to make planes for FE again soon. Mue's exporter only works for FE2. I'm going to have to dust off my copy and get FE2 set up.
