The Republic of Korea Air Force will be retiring its remaining 19 F-4E Phantom IIs on June 7th, 2024, bringing an end to 55 years of service. South Korea operated around 200 F-4s, including F-4Ds, F-4Es, and RF-4Cs. After it was announced that the F-4s would be retired, they were seen at several exercises in the months and weeks leading to retirement firing off AIM-7 Sparrows and AGM-142 Popeyes. A flight of four aircraft took to the skies on a farewell tour around South Korea, flying over locations key to the F-4's ROKAF history and were escorted by the new KAI KF-21 Boramae. Much like when the USAF retired the QF-4E and Luftwaffe retired the F-4F ICE, South Korea took the time to paint two aircraft in historic liveries, including the SEA camo they were first delivered in and an overall light grey scheme. Sad times for us Phantom Phanatics as South Korea retires its F-4s and Greece not far behind.

heavy duty scientific wildass guess time the Kadena RFs went to Taegu in 1989, being stationed there for one year before the 15th TRS disbanded the squadron stayed the 15th TRS, and took all the aircraft that were at Kadena .but changed units from the 18th Tac Fighter WING to the 460th Tac Recon GROUP this is based off of book reseach and two (yes only two) pics. so the GU skin will be highly.... suppositional. not what if but not as spot on as i like either. one of two pics i can base off of

View File Mirage F1EE (1992-2000) Mirage F1EE (1992-2000) In June 1975, with tension growing with Morocco, Spain decided to strengthen its Air Force and bought 15 Mirage F1C that were allocated to Albacete AB. In mid-1976 there was still some tension with Morocco and Algerian and Libyan MiG-25 flights on the Mediterranean, which would lead the Spanish Air Force to purchase ten more Mirage F1C and two years later order 48 Mirage F1C and F1E. F1EE_Late specifics: Same as EE_Early plus: extra AIM-9 on P2 stations (to be accurate, not sure all aircraft had the modification, maybe just experimental on one) Seat Mk6 Cockpit layout modified (provision for future ALR-300 on left side) Covered units : Ala 14. There are two skins I like to use when I am flying F-16s: The Thunderbirds and this YF-16A prototype scheme. I can't decide which one I like better. But the first time I ever saw an F-16 was an advertisement for a Monogram model of the prototype in comic books. So, I am partial to the prototype paint scheme. Great job adding it to the SF F-16. In the same way, I like to fly F-15s in either the Streak Eagle scheme or air superiority blue, as those were the two schemes all of the models on store shelves originally had. The day I got my first F-4E model, my brother got an F-15A model in air superiority blue, so that is why I am partial to that scheme.

Depends on what I'm feeling that day, so I'm liable to take anything out of the hangar. I love A/G & SAM hunts, so I'm partial to ones I can hang a LOT of ordinance on. As well as nukes. But there are 3 that I fly more than others. 3. Mirages (any); Specifically: Mirage III. Sleek: Fast: Elegant: Beautiful even when standing still, and oh so deadly. You can do it all in them. All weather, all-world, and as long as you utilize it's strengths, it will more than hold their own in a dogfiht with almost anything. As an attack jet, they're perfectly suited for whatever mission you want to run. 2.A-7's. When it absolutely, positively has to be blown up and the debris bounced, that's you plane, AF version or Navy. 1. The Tornado. Any model; any version; any mission; any nationality (Especially the IDS Marineflieger models) IMHO, pound-for-pound, the best strike aircraft ever produced.

Perhaps the admin could move all posts relating to MiG-21 in a separate topic. There is a confusion with MiG-21PFM vs PF designation. When the MiG-21PF was delivered it was not able to carry the Monsun. After an midlife update it got the capability to carry Monsun twin rails. The modified planes were in the East German Air Force (LSK) called MiG-21PFM. Later the soviets delivered their own MiG-21PFM, what posed designation problems in the LSK. The same designation for different versions of the MiG-21. Thatswhy the soviet MiG-21PFM was called MiG-21SPS in east german service. To make it short. Early MiG-21PF had had no protection plates and were unable to carry Monsun. Modified MiG-21PF (PFM in east german designation) had protection plates and could carry Monsun rails. The last LSK MiG-21PFM was phased out in 1987. In the early years the planes were all metallic, from end 1970th they got camo. MiG-21PFM (MiG-21SPS) had initially only single launch rails, and were updated to carry Monsun in mid/late 1970th. Mid 1980th they got the ability to use R-60 (AA-8) missiles. Mandatory screeshot:

I am sure Gepard knows better, but from what I have read, the Monsun dual rails were used on the PFM, not the PF and in Poland and in the DDR only. Oddly enough, here is a picture of what looks to me like a DDR MiG-21PF (judging by what appears to me as a PF forward-hinged, single-piece canopy and the narrower PF vertical tail) with the Monsun dual rail, that I came across. Mandatory screenshot - we also had MiG-21Ms , here in camo shortly before retirement.

Noted! Thanks! Now, on the SPS's I understand some were wire to shoot R-60s as this one... (May need the gun blast panels, to be added later) (yes, I need to remove the rearview mirror) Now, the regular SPS's Also, for the PF, I also read they were capable of using the Monsun dual Atoll rails, were they not? Keep in mind, that all is a huge ongoing WIP Any advice you can give me will be beneficial to this project... Thanks again!

SF2 Lockheed RC-121D Pack by RussoUK 8/20/2020 -For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) "Quarantine Approved - Essential Mods" This package contains a new aircraft, the Lockheed RC-121D Warning Star Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft as used by the US Air Force. This aircraft comes complete with everything needed, and has skins that represent the following units, as is my habit one East Coast and one West Coast based units: 960th AEW&C Sqdn, 551st AEW&CW, Otis AFB, MA 963rd AEW&C Sqdn, 552nd AEW&CW, McClellan AFB, CA The aircraft is presented in two finishes; overall NMF for the 963rd, and NMF with Arctic Red (orange?) wing, nose and tail sections. Both aircraft share a pool of 26 serial number decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. I was unable to run down individual serials for the units, so these should be considered 'generic' in nature, although they ARE correct for this aircraft. When in game, on the Aircraft Selection Dropdown menu, you'll see: RC-121D Warning Star (R) Hopefully, will diferentiate it from any other RC-121s that you may (or may not) have, or be available. The "R" stands for RussoUK, the model maker. As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. Also, the credits list all the original FSX model & skin creators. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein

Lockheed Starfighter F.2 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2:Europe This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-104G to give a 'what if' Starfighter F.2 interceptor-fighter with markings for ten classic 1960's RAF Fighter Command squadrons - mainly real world Lightning squadrons but with No.43 Squadron added in as they were a famous interceptor squadron in the Phantom era. The service dates are confined to 1963 to 1969 but you can easily edit this to suit your tastes. RAF Squadrons covered; 5, 11, 19, 23, 29, 43, 56, 74, 92, 111. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the StarfighterF2 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the StarfighterF2 folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to bobrock for the excellent F-104G template used here for the skin and the specular maps. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 2 - February 25th, 2024.
