1 pointAt the risk of hijacking the thread, and apologies in advance Kevin, but this would make a great idea for an 80's style all-action TV series called 'Top Aces!' Each week our Top Aces heroes are deployed to a different country, ostensibly to help with training or advisory to the host nation, act as aggressors in an exercise, or some other excuse. In reality, of course, they're there to carry out a super secret covert op for the US. Missions could be set in real world locations, or fictional countries (bonus points for identiying where the countries are from): A strike on a nuclear facility in the Middle Eastern Empire of Paran ;) A raid to capture a drugs baron in the Central American country, Val Verde Bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri, flying from Drambuie on the Barbary Coast Stopping a coup in the Central African kingdom of Zamunda Extracting an Agency asset from Agrabah, east of the Euphrates Helping to stem an invasion of the Central European nation of Florin by neighbouring Guilder Taking out a terrorist camp in the African republic of Zangaro With a main cast of impossibly good looking US and international (well someone has to fly the Alphas and Mirages) male and female actors as the former military Top Aces pilots, each with their own characters and back story of why they're ex-military to be explored in future episodes. Plus a trope-fest of a supporting cast: The crusty retired general who commands them (is Dale Dye available?) The suitably geeky WSO who's a whizz at electronics and, with the sexy female scientist on loan from DARPA, usually comes up with the weekly tech solution to get the mission over the line The mysterious 'Agency' contact who hands out the mission each week, with an attractive aide/pilot/driver/bodyguard. Or maybe as a nod to the classics like Mission: Impossible and Charlie's Angels we don't get to see the Agency contact as the missions are always briefed on a Zoom call where the contact's camera is always off, with the catchphrase: 'I'm sharing my screen now, can everyone see it OK?' The pilot of the C-130 for logistical support, is a trucker, like Snowman from Smokey and the Bandit I'm sure you can come up with others... The real Top Aces has a huge variety of aircraft, including their Blue Air fleet Top Aces - Wikipedia, so there will be great opportunitites to showcase the different planes and helicopters iin action. Of course there will be the usual trope of re-using the flight footage from the pilot show, and if push comes to shove, because of the Israeli camo on the Top Aces F-16s, we can also use footage from Iron Eagle, like everyone else making an aviation movie in the 1980s & 90s has! Think of the spin-offs - book and comics series, flight sim games, a kids animated show - and in 30 years, it can be remade as a big budget movie that will either spawn a new franchise or sink without a trace at the box office. Glad I got that off my chest. Normal service is resumed.

1 pointRespected gentlemen, I am writing to inquire if any of you would be interested in joining our team as a texture/skinner expert. Our dear friend Compufat has unfortunately contracted a severe illness known as Oropouche Fever, and his overall health prior to this was not in the best condition. We sincerely wish him a swift recovery and a long and healthy life. In light of this situation, we are seeking a skilled texture/skinner to join our team. If you possess the necessary expertise and are interested in this opportunity, please do not hesitate to contact me. Best regards, Mohamad

1 pointHey yall, sort of tangential to dropping bombs but still Vietnam SEAD related. I'm flying the 105F, with the vietnam air ground expansion, and I notice not all of my gauges are working, or accurate. Is this a known bug? In the 105D they all worked fine but here in the F the part of the RWR at the top of the canopy that would tell you if it's SAM or AAA radar doesn't light up, the degree to waypoint guidance doesn't seem to match visual indicators or even the little arrow on the heading dial. Also my fuel gauge kind of works but not really? It doesn't show anything for the center tank when I have one in standard SEAD 2 shrike/CBU loadout, the dial just stays top center and never moves, even after I eject the tank. Then like, I flew all the way back to Korat on 2000 lbs of fuel from Hanoi, which, if they modified that J-75 to be THAT efficient, I owe someone a drink. I love my thud I just wanna get her humming like my old D model. I keep missing with my shrikes too, but that's 100% user error lol This is my first post here! I hope I didn't break any protocols. Appreciate this site and appreciate you all.

Version 1.2
197 downloads
The Strikemaster is essentially an armed version of the Jet Provost T Mk 5. Various improvements and alterations were made to the aircraft, including an uprated Armstrong Siddeley Viper turbojet engine, wing hardpoints capable of carrying a wide variety of munitions, a pair of machine guns under the intakes, uprated flap system with two jacks, enlarged airbrake jacks, new communication and navigation gear, different electrical system, canopy breakers on the ejection seats, and a revised fuel system including tip tanks on the wing tips. First flown in 1967, the aircraft was typically marketed as a light attack or counter-insurgency aircraft, however, the majority of customers were air forces seeking an advanced trainer. The Strikemaster did see combat on multiple occasions in the service of Ecuador, Oman and Yemen. A total of 146 aircraft were produced prior to the end of production in 1983. The type remaining flying into the 2020s, albeit with increasing difficulty due to a decreasing supply of spare parts over time. WHAT'S IN: - Strikemaster Mk80 Saudi Arabia (47 planes) 3 skins - Strikemaster Mk81 South Yemen ( 4 planes) 1 skin - Strikemaster Mk82 Oman (25 planes) 2 skins - Strikemaster Mk83 Kuwait (12 planes) 1 skin - Strikemaster Mk88 New Zealand (16 planes) 2 skins CREDITS: - russouk2004: original model - pappychksix: all skins - paulopanz: decals, hangars, screens, drop tanks paint, skins little editings, ini dance, packaging etc etc. TO INSTALL: - put all in your main mod folder and overwrite NOTE: TW simulations allow us to add proper historical serials, numbers, letters and nose arts to each plane. Best models with serials, numbers and letters painted on textures for me are a real waste. All planes (as black cats at night ...) are the same ... So our friend Pete allowed me to make decals (I have a real decals factory yet ...) for his great skins and this is the final product. I think that outstanding Russo's plane really needed this work to shine. I hope you like this pack, as I liked to buid this up. If Pete will skin Mk84, Mk89 and Mk90 (with his own super templates) too I'll be glad to add them. If someone'll tweak a better flight model I'll add too. Any improve'll be welcome. Aren't we a community? Enjoy! paulopanz@ -

1 pointdepends on what im working on, some are quite fun to fly while others are pigs that im putting lipstick on in general, i do prefer the air to ground and support mission sets, and typically fly the jets best suited to that (A-10s, A-7s, F-4s and the range of heavies)
